Coach...when did you play at UT?

96-98. I went on medical with a back injury and never returned to the game. I am actually still dealing with the back issues and starting physical therapy soon. I try hard not to let it get to me, but career ending injuries are really hard to deal with.(even ones that happened 10 years ago) Got any advice? From what I gather, you are an athletic trainer.

This post is by Kaitlin's mom - Thanks for your kind comment. It is amazing to think that by the time our 7th grader graduates that we will have spent this many years being a part of a sport we love. Through ups and downs we do love it. Injuries and life happens, so a decision was made that was best for our family - nothing more, please do not read anything negative into it. We love this Siegel team and are so proud of these girls. They play with all their heart and contribute greatly to 7AAA.

I'm sorry to here that, but I know you and your family and I know that the decision is for the best for the family. You guys have a massive amount of talent in your genes and are the kindest people I know. Caroline has some big shoes to fill and has done an amazing job. I have loved watching all your daughters grow as players and people. Hope to see you around the bend soon. Missed you at BIVT, but got to speak with Caroline and get beaten by Siegel.

Gentlemen, there is no reason to make this an argument between two schools who have nothing to do with the situation. I thank you for your support, but please do not turn this into a feud.

This entire site is about volleyball and the facts of volleyball. I love to read people's opinions on who is better and so on and so forth, but all in all, they are only opinions. No one can say what is going to happen next or who will play better than someone else. These are high school girls, with high school girl issues and drama. You never really know who is going to show up on any given day. Please keep this site about the girls, the sport and the true effort that everyone puts into this lifestyle.

Now that I have no affliation to Page and am now allowed to post on Coacht, I would like to clarify that there was a miss communication by the administration at Page. I have had 3 different AD's in the 4 years that I have been there. I have always complied with every rule that was presented to me and have been more than willing to ask questions when there are things I am not sure of. I had repeatedly asked if there was anything else I needed to do and repeatedly asked my AD about a "NFHS course" that I needed to take. I never received an answer from him. I am not the only Non-Faculty coach that was not informed at Page High School. The only communication I have seen from TSSAA was a fax that was sent last week, because I happened to be receiving a different fax at the time. I was not supported by the administration at all, I was told to resolve the issue on my own. Which I tried to do after becoming aware there was a situation. The fax was received on Monday of last week and I did not hear from my AD at all until Friday when he told me I would have to pay the $500 fee associated with the violation. Not at any time did he mention that I would be dismissed from my position, nor did any one at TSSAA. I gladly went out to Page Monday morning to pick up a check and a letter to TSSAA from my administration and personally delivered to TSSAA. Unbeknownst to me that I would not be coaching that evening. I went back to Page and started preparing for the match. I received a voicemail on my cell while down in my office from the Principal at Page saying that I was no longer the coach and had to pay the fine by Oct. 31 to even have the possibility to be considered for the position next fall.

I am very disappointed in the administration and the TSSAA for their inconsistancy. If the TSSAA is all the about the Student Athlete, why and how can they take away their coach from them in mid season. These girls have been treated like trash at Page from the very beginning. There is no support for a team that travels to the State Tournament 8 times in 10 years. They do not allow our students to travel and support during State and yet expect us to support the football team. Right now our record is 17-7 and I have seen some one from the administration at one match...on Open House Night.

I personally spend my own money to supply our girls with locker room supplies and training supplies. The parents are the most supportive and caring people I have ever worked with. They will do anything for the girls as I would. This is probably the worst scenario that could happen to a team, but they underestimate us all the time. These girls will come out even stronger and prouder of their accomplishments. These are lessons I have always wanted the girls to learn. You can not change what other people do, you can only make the best of the situation. These girls are more hungry than ever. They have something to prove and you better believe that they are going to go all the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported Page through the years and please do not stop.
