  5. CLOUDLAND LADY HIGHLANDERS

    I was told Mitchell has over 700 kids, in Tennessee that would be a AAA school I believe. Cloudland actually has 320 kids...in SIX GRADES! The school is actually grades seven through twelve. So Mitchell has approximately 3-4 times the size of Cloudland. That is far from being a "small school" in Tennessee.

     

    Not taking anything at all away from Mitchell County, they are a very good ball team, that has a lot of talent, and is well-coached. Of course, they had to come to Carter County to get such a good coach!

  9. Will Hampton have to move up to 2A

    Its anybody's guess what the classifacations will look like the next time, they could do a number of things. They may seperate Publics and Privates. If so,'they might go to 4 classes. The way it is now ,they just devive all the schools by 5. Shoot ,they might even address the open enrollment situation. Several 1a schools are in pretty good sized Counties and the kids can go to any of the schools in the County. It don't really matter what they do, because there is no way to please everyone. The little rural schools like Cloudland are going to be at a disadvantage anway it goes. People lose sight of things anyway. Sports is just a good way of teaching diapline,hard work and accountability. Its just another tool to help develop kids so they can achieve out in the big world. When you learn to do things with pride and effort, it will help you the rest of your life.

     

    Pugo, Great post and you are correct. It is anyone's guest what may happen. I like the 5 classifacations with the multiplier for the privates

    Schools in Division I playing football have been divided into five classes based on the total number of schools playing football; therefore, schools are classified as follows:

     

    5A - Schools with an enrollment of 1,348 and above

    4A - Schools with an enrollment of 961 to 1,347

    3A - Schools with an enrollment of 675-957

    2A - Schools with an enrollment of 364-673

    1A - Schools with an enrollment of 361 and under

     

    I hope they do not have to move up this is NET only chance at State Championship. 2005/06 enrollment per Blue Ribbon no child left behind was 466 which is way over the 361 cutoff.....

     

    Where did you get the above numbers at. 1A was 396 and under in 2004. Hampton reported 393, but was well over 400 the next school year and has increased every year since. They are now the largest 1A in the state

    Both teams are playing well right now but I'm taking Hampton in a close one

    Hampton 21 Oneida 17. I think both of these teams will be playing in 2A football the next time

    they realign. These are two of the bigger 1A schools around.

     

    Hampton is the largest 1A in the state. The following # was reported to the T$$AA last year

    Pujo u should have stayed on the Hampton sideline for a lil while longer . U wouldve heard the same words being said , but from the bulldog side . It goes both ways u know. U probably seen the ones im talking about. They were about 4 or 5 of them standing on about the 35 yard line saying the same words. One of them had a sleeveless t-shirt and a black bandanna on im sure u heard them if u were on Hamptons sideline any at all. We had one right behind us cussing everyone unless u was from Hampton . He had on a black kinda like a top hat and a black jacket . He didnt shut up all night. He wasnt cheering either he was just looking for someone or something to cuss about. Another Hampton fan standing right beside us was just as nice as could be . He just cheered his team on and went home after . We was asking him some of the names of the kids from Hampton and talking about how big they were. What im saying is this comes from both teams , heck probably 85% of all teams has their own lil crew like that. There were thugs on Hamptons side also. Pretty sure one of them was a Tolley. Anway Im not making excuses by no means . Ive heard it both ways all season long . Although the kid wearing the 18 jersey from Hampton probably will get toned down a lil in playoffs . Hes a good player just needs play ball and not try to be seen so much. Hes a lil to proud of himself. We got beat and beat pretty good . It happens . All we can do is get ready 4 the playoffs and hope 4 a better showing next year. Good luck Landers against Harriman.

     

    I sat in the stands with Hampton fan all around me. The people in front of us could not be any nicer, but we had a bunch of rowdy jerk behind my group. Any wrere you go to a game a few idots will show up

    Here's a prediction , the fans will get wild and their will be no alliance Saturday morning. The hatred will come out and the true colors will show. I do hope the anouncer has more class than what he showed at the Grace game. I thought that was extremely childish and uncalled for. I would have been ashamed to be called a Lander that night. SAD

    No matter what any one says on here or @ school or even out in public , I think the Lander players think they have a shot @ this one . Ive heard about Hampton having really good ballplayers and good coaches all year , and im sure the whole county even maybe the whole state has heard it also. But that doesnt mean that the Landers doesnt stand a chance . Im not saying we will go out and destroy Hampton just saying that is a game of matchups , luck, and a HEART. I know Hampton is capable of putting up big points on anyone , and shutting down anyone . In my opinion we have a shot until the final whistle . I may eat my words come Friday night between 7:30 and bout 10:00. Anyone remember the Cloudland / CAK game ? Who would have thought the outcome of that game would have ended like it did. How bout App. St. / Mich. Same deal . Good luck Landers u guys have showed a huge HEART this year and it payed off . It may not win the game for you friday but it certianly has brought alot of attention . Thanks guys for the hard work and dedication . Heck what am I saying its not over yet we still have one regular season game and then playoffs. Not to mention a conference championship. C-mon guys lets get fired up a lil.

     

    Everyone thanks that there is no way Cloudland can beat Hampton. Everyone is forgetting that Hampton only won at Oneida by a extra point. Oneida record in 5-4, and don't forget Unicoi Co (0-6 2-7) only losted by a field goal in overtine 9-6. I am not saying CHS will win, but Hampton can be beat. To all CHS players, play this game the best you can, Win or lose, you had a great year ond you proved a lot of people wrong. All CHS fans are prowd of you
