No, tnko, a conditioned Kennedy at 215 would not have had a state championship. Lets be honest here and realize the only reason the match was close was because Croy relaxed in a bad position and gave up a 5 point. Maybe you didn't watch the rest of the match where Croy was taking all the shots (and scoring on them) and was never in any trouble for the rest of the match. Both of those guys are studs so why can't it be left at that rather than you making the stupid comment that you just did. Maybe because you don't really know too much about wrestling, or good wrestling anyways.

Oh I know wrestling Jr. Maybe they will see each other in College one day. Then we will see who knows wrestling... and who the stupid one is.......Jr.

tnko, close your eyes and think about this. It isn't about YOU or your convenience. What I was referring to is the wrestlers perspective. I used the casual fans as an example that many others also recognized this. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to acknowledge this obvious point because of the thin skin regarding any critique of anything regarding the Cow Palace.

If I wanted to be truly critical, I would have mentioned the lack of courtesy regarding the starting time for the finals on Saturday. To be fair, you'd have to admit that by having the Finals at 4:00 EST (in Chatt. for the last couple decades), it got the travellers home at a safer hour. The 6:00 start this year was equivelant to 7:00 Eastern, which got the Saturday night travellers home at an extremely late hour, (well , actually early Sunday morning). The Finals ended at 11:00! I know you guys detest Chattanooga and it's wrestlers, but those guys prob. got in bed around 2:30 or 3:00 AM. The consolation rounds ended very early in the afternoon, around 1:00. Why in the world not start the Finals at 3:00 or 4:00? Certainly never stopped the Roundhouse from rockin' on Saturday afternoon.

I agree with the one thing your speaking about and thats having the finals earlier than 6.

They probably had to have a set time to start the finals for the TSSAA site, the papers, and the pamplets for sale, and maybe werent sure when that would be this year at the new venue with new staff and a tournament cooridinator so they played it safe and went for 6. I bet next year it will be 4.

Of course I am smiling at bit just knowing that the Chatt-area kiddies finally didnt to sleep in their own beds during breaks, and at night . And know one whats to get home too late but Memphis wrestlers still had 4 hours drive to get home..... Chatt-folks only had 2 hours.

I think Memphis should host it next year and the Chatters can drive 6 hours and see how that feels

Kudos to the folks that ran the tournament. The people and hospitality were great. Really efficient and made everyone feel welcome. There is no problem with those things.

The problem was with the finals. If you'll close your eyes for a moment and remember the atmosphere at UTC for the parade of Champions and the Finals, it was night and day compared to the Cow Palace. The tight packed, electric atmosphere was non-existent. It felt more like a mid-season dual meet than the biggest event in a young wrestlers life. Even casual fans who come to only this each year were remarking about the difference. Nothing that anyone could have really done, it's just that the venue isn't condusive to the the type of atmosphere we've become accustomed to.

I closed my eyes while I was there and was happy cause it was easier to get to because it was centrally located and also not downtown, more spread out and not cramped, and when I left to go eat I didnt have to pay some more of my hard earned money to park in the same spot I was in an hour earlier.

I dont even think there is anything like a parade of champions in any other sport in the state so just having one for these wrestlers is credit enough. (and this popcorn Im eating was also cheaper...)

3. ZACH WATSON- BAYLOR- probably the most talent in years in this group from a elementary age on..

4. DANIEL BAUCKE- CBHS- Great wrestler for years who turned it up even another notch this year!

5. JOE PROCTOR- COOKEVILLE- Doesnt travel much but is a natural wrestler with God given abilities

6. CAMPBELL LEWIS- SODDY DAISY- Probably will be the best in two years along side Watson

7. ALEX JOHNSON- CBHS- I believe underated but this kids a stud!!

8. TJ DUNCAN- MCCALLIE- True-bred wrestler, his demeanor screams "watch out"

9. BRENNAN COX- INDEPENDENCE- relentless and tons of heart. Im sure he listens to his coach...

10. BLAKE THOMAS- BRENTWOOD- I picked him over Hames, Doster, Hooker, and Manley because I think at their weights he could pull out wins over them all. Hes just a MAN-CHILD!!!

Pattonboysdad or PBD didnt have a dog in the fight this year but...

his next pup will be an up and coming freshman next year at Blackman who like his big bros is growing fast!!!!

Slow down and get your thoughts in order before you post. They make no sense other than to take a crack at NCW. What I see here is jealousy. You make a comment on this board and hope nobody calls you out on it. When somebody does, you move on and throw something else on the wall. NCW did not wrestle at Tullahoma, yet, you posted on here they did!!!! The parents are still laughing and asking where do you come up with this stuff.

 

As for NCW ducking Sharpshooters unless there is a TSSAA Ref involved, why do you think that???? Would you rather have a wanna be dad who is affiliated with the program to call the match or a sanctioned TSSAA Ref call the match. I have seen some of the AAU Ref's and they have a chip on their shoulder. Just think back to last year's AAU Regions where there was almost a fight during a couple of matches. Enough Said.

 

One last thing, before you start calling somebody out for ducking and quacking, look inside your own house. Before you post again, make sure you have your facts straigt, and quit lying. Yes, I said it, quit lying.

NCW has a great program

I was told that the Sharpshooters were at the McCallie duals this year and got pounded by Baylor and McCallie. Why don't y'all set up a dual with Irishdad as the ref? Or maybe a Bateman? Heck, they have a pulse so they for sure can get AAU certified. Throw MBA in for a tri.

Im not sure but I believe Sharpshooters won those matches..

AAU refs referee middle school down in season and its legal if its AAU santioned which they are the the refs are certified.

if any kid wrestles for another team they are not ducking because they do not use their regular club affiliaton on any particular date.

NCW will not wrestle the Sharpshooters unless they have TSSAA refs and not AAU. Who really cares????? obviously NCW. I consider that a duck or a lame excuse whick is really a quack.

was told that the boys wrestling at the tulahoma duals were mostly NCW kids thats all. They used no affiliation just know that the Sharpshooters won that dual with those boys, if they have no NCW affiliation then thats my igorance for listing to spectators at the tourny.

Shoot old man, all I was stating was the facts. The last time ncw wrestled the sharpshooters was 05-06 and sharpshooters won. Prior to that, nada. Since then, they haven't wrestled. Upmost respect for the sharpshooters, but to insinuate that they once pounded ncw, as sommers so eloquently phrased it, is incorrect. Last time ncw was at the middle school state was in 08-09 and they took second to cleveland.

Since 05-06 the NCW pulled out of the MTWA Conference and has refused to wrestle the Sharpshooters since. You cant lose if you dont wrestle them.....

I believe the NCW did send a team of wrestlers (that didnt go by NCW at the tourney) to the Tullahoma Duals this year that was beaten pretty good by the Sharpshooters who also beat Bradley and Cleveland that day.

But the NCW has a great tradition and wrestling program with tons of talent going to both Father Ryan and even MBA and other schools arounds the midstate.

Coach Simpson and his staff do an excellent job turning out future champions.

Kennedy was not there. Kennedy would wrestle anyone. Its usually a coaches decision not to wrestle.

Kennedy is probably cutting weight and just not at 189. He was over 200 when the season started and is just picking his battles while he battles the fried chicken monster that sneaks up on him at night while he sleeps.

I dont think he has alot of fat to lose... hes pretty solid BigTex.

Its probably pretty hard for him to keep to 189 at his height and body fat percentage...

of course Im just guessing......
