  1. who ever said that all coaches coach the same!!!!!!!!!!! no one coach is going to coach like rankins just because of that you saying that he isn't coaching good come on now are you telling me that them kids out there didn't play last friday night to win that ball game ???????? that is a joke !!!!!!!!!!!!! they just got out played ......... and you want to blame a coach for you all losing a ballgame is wrong.........

yes the young men played hard played to win i don't think the young men called t.o. with 7sec before the half i don't think the men called the play on 4th and 1 to run it in the middle with eight men in the box but yes they played hard not out played

  2. That is a good post faith, but don't you think that if the coaches had other talent to play they would be playing?I am just saying, I know for a fact that rhs had alot of guys that quit in the spring that was going to be seniors, and was looked at playing some.So now, they have had to put in sophomore's and I think maybe one freshmen that plays. So I hear a lot of junk from fans that say they only play seniors, but that is far from the truth. They(warriors), are really young, so be patient, we will be back soon.

trust me offense coordinator last yr this yrs defensive coordinator one in the same they don't look smoke blowing session as far as some of the seniors quitting they did not have the heart to play or seen the writing on the wall as far playing only seniors you are right and to answer the first part of you're post NO!!!!

  3. well riverdale is not haveing such a good year is it because all the fumbleing or is it cause the coaching what i am trying to say is the coaches are not out there on that field on friday night playing when they fumble a ball it is not the coaches fault that they are fumbling and the way everyone on here talks the coach needs to be fired because riverdale lost 3 games this year 2 of which was lost because of fumbles and one was just because they got out played and you all are all talking it is a coaching mistake well i don't blame coaches for fumbles nor for the heart of the boys when they get out there and get out played it is very unfair to all these coaches when losing or winning as far as that is concerned to blame all on coaching it takes the football players that go out there all week and practice and play that game on friday night to win or lose a ball game ultimately .........

i have never said they need to be fired, yes there have been fumbles but you tell me with as many young men on the side line that go to practice that you don't try some else out and make these young men accountable for there mistakes

  4. It is very sad to know that when teams are losing they always blame the coaches and want to rid the coaches people there are players out their that get on that field every friday night weather they are in the right positions or not they are taught to play that position all spring and sumer long and it is the players that play 4 quarter of a football game not the coaches. I do agree it takes coaching to win but it also takes players doing what the coaches tell them to do to win weather you win or lose them kids and I mean all the kids in rutherford county go out there to play a game and hopeful they do their very best and some times talent is a factor and some times coaching is a factor and alot of times it is both but utimatly it comes down to if the players go out there and want to win and have the heart to win that ballgame on friday night!!! in 4-5a it comes down to heart and who wants that game the most it is a sad time when people start dogin the coaches for all mistakes that is made on the field and blame it all on coaching most of the kids in rutherford county have been taught as youth to play football why blame everything on these high school coaches I dont my son and he makes mistakes alot and some big and some not so big but he is not mistake free. and it is not all coaching faults he has been taught since he was 5.

you are very right , but you have to put the right players in a position to be competitive to win , these young men have a lot of heart . personally i don't think these guys know what to do, just look at the last two games , clock mgmt, play calling, use of timeouts, ect . like some of the other poster have said metro ball or just cant see the Forrest for the trees

  5. It is no accident that Coach Wyant was coaching at Siegel last night when they won. Siegel has some outstanding players and is a very strong team. I believe it is Murphy Fair that just said this..."It is not the players, it is the coaches."

Riverdale has some unbelievable talent that is not being used correctly. These boys work there heart out and when certain players are not being played where they need to be!! The Riverdale team just does not have a winning spirit right now. alot of that has to do with the coaches and the crap that goes on with this team. Coach A just does not have what it takes to motivate these kids. It was even the same last year even though we had a great offensive line.

The Riverdale boys want to win and they are ready to win. There is NOT the kind of discipline in the weight work outs like in the past with Coach White. THere are several areas that this team is lacking and it is definitely NOT their talent. I will say that Coach Wyant and Coach Mac both were right hand men to Coach Rankin. Especially Coach Wyant and there are many similarities to how coach rankin coached. At least the boys respected Coach Rankin.

I will support Coach A as always but I believe in Nolan knows that he screwed up on this one.

Siegel you earned the right to brag, it has been a long time coming. Congrats!

The boys read Coach T but they also know it is just opinions and speculation. They know they are good but it is hard to be good on a losing team with a losing coach.

I find it interesting that Smyrna did not start to win until Coach Wyant came on board. Remember who makes the game plan. This coach definitely needs to be head coaching somewhere.

RIVERDALE TRAINED COACHES UNDER RANKIN are doing great out there on other teams. Especially the traitor Dave Thomas who could not pass an art class this past summer at Motlow and can't get into Austin Peay with his brother Scott. He currently is helping Mac coach Oakland. What a guy that Dave Thomas is.

great post i thought i was the only one to see what is going on

  6. riverdaleman, that is why no one within the region seems to support Siegel.....their posters act like spoiled 3 yr olds. It always comes back to bite them in the butt too. Centennial got motivated to beat them by the signs that the fans had out in the stands when they came running out......signs that said 4-0 before the game even started. Talk about DOOMING your team. I can't WAIT to play them.

Riverdale, don't hang your heads or start circling the wagons. SUPPORT the team and the coaches. Get behind them....don't tear it all apart with your words or your posts. These kids read this forum. There are posters that they respect on here and listen to. Your words can destroy everything that is trying to be built there. Vocal fans stifled us last yr with their arm chair coaching and hounding the principal for change. It affects the players and it makes the coaches defensive. You do NOT need those kind of distractions....let me tell you. Let the boys play their game without any of that TRASH.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO WARRIORS!!! Still plenty of football left.

words or post are not pulling them apart , these young men know how to play the game, making no adjustments will hurt them as you have ALREADY SEEN SO FAR

  7. It seems that when the word discipline comes up many people only associate it with one definition. That definition would be punishment. However, most of the time, on these threads, the intended meaning is self control. Most fumbles occur because the ball carrier does not have enough self control to put both arms around the ball when they come into traffic. There are players on every team in every sport that have no discipline. I've been involved in a little softball and I've seen kids that no matter how much you make them run for failing to get their rear end down to feild a ground ball, when game time comes they don't do what you tried to teach them to do. During the game Friday night one of LC's players scared me every time he touched the ball because he would never put both arms on the ball. So you see it's a matter of self control on the players part and not necessarily how the coaches work them during practice.

you are so right so why keep them in the game as i said earlier there are other players biting at the bit to play !so set them down you will see self control emerge. instead of having the same ones over and over do the same thing they know noting will be done about it

  8. Congratulations LC.

I'm sorry I could not have been there last night but I was putting the 'clone' on a plane back to Iraq. I would have MUCH rather have been there seeing a good game and having a great burger.

R'dale, thats TWO! If you want to force feed me the crow YOU have to step it up and HOLD ON TO THE BALL!

I have been looking back and have come to the conclusion that we have already had MORE fumbles already this year than we had for the entire 2005 season!

you didn't miss much ,same ole go through the motions blame it on inexperience that's what i seen and what Ive read in the paper and on the radio from the coach go figure /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  9. congrats LC .. ID have any clue what is going on at Riverdale and evidently they dont either /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" someone needs to pull this team together.. this is just blowing my mind! Still backing them of course but something has got to give!! step it up WARRIORS.. you have the players that is a given, but they are just not playing up to potential. LC pulled it together when it counted, great job. NOW COME ON WARRIORS GET YOUR FIGHT BACK... MAKE SOME CHANGES AND GET SOME WINS!! GET HUNGRY AGAIN /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

hard to step up when the same mistakes are happening week in and week out and the same people are rewarded for it changes have to come from the coaches i believe that there are players biting at the bit to get a chance but like i said above /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />

  10. Perhaps the surrendering of the troops, even though the fact of the surrender didn't get through to all lines for several weeks and battles still raged. The north had industry and improvement, while the south wanted to stay and rely upon the old style plantation, which made them ship all of their goods to the north for finishing. Now anyone with HALF a brain knows that the money stays with the finished product. So, the south was producings a crop, being paid for it, but then having to purchase the finished product from the North. This left them entirely dependent upon the North and other countries. However, they still refused to change. Would you like to know more? They had no means of true income beyond crop production and no desire to improve their means of crop production because they didn't want to change their way of crop production. Actually slavery wasn't an issue until towards the middle of the war when Lincoln used the moral issue of slavery to rouse the North to fight harder because they weren't sure they really wanted the southern lands. I still know tons more? It is amazing what one knows when they are actually educated....

Lincoln had everything to with it , not all of there goods where shipped north they were shipped overseas Lincoln put a stop to all that the south was doing to maintain what is called states rights

  11. Actually the post was started by someone else entirely. Several other people have voiced their opinion based along the same lines as myself.

No, I am not from here. I am from an area where things are MUCH different. It is time for a change. Too much politics. I have been asked by many to run for school board to start the movement for change, yet I hesitate because of people like you; entrenched in the old with blinders and a refusal to change. No wonder why the South lost the war. The refusal to change has been historically famous in the South for generations and centuries. What angers me is, I am sure the same people on here touting not to speak in public against our kids and school ball team, are probably the same people that do not hesitate to degrade and down our government and political system without doing anything about it either.

I'm not from here ether so please tell me how the south lost PLEASE and if you cant answer it you don't need to be on the school board you just need to be what you are a mom

  12. 22-3 the last two years

    a state championship at 4A

    several other state final appearences

great winning record for years now where ever he has been

and he can't coach... yea..you're right

i'm just glad youth and inexperience has nothing to do with it...thanks for the insight... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

great resume knew what he had coming into this yr and well it shows

  13. i'm sure coach A is doing all he can to correct mistakes in practice...but it is much harder to do when you are YOUNG...AND INEXPERIENCED...change takes time with a young group of guys...whether in the NFL...college...or high school...

repitition...game experience...all come into play when it comes to mistakes

and...talent level is not there as it has been in the past when riverdale always had as much or more talent than anyone else in the league...keep believing it is the coaching /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

you are right my bad same mistakes that have happened is spring prac, scrimmages are still happening yes hes doing all he can NOTHING /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  14. okay...so now their are two choices as to why riverdale will lose 4 or more games this season

    1. bad coaching

    2. less talent

most folks that know football and are not blind by riverdale's past sucesses know that Coach A and his staff can coach...again his track record is well documented

and those who again are not RIVERDALE blind...know that the talent level is the lowest it has been at riverdale in 10 plus years...and in this region...good coaching alone will not get it and talent alone will not get it...you need both in region 4-5A...it is unbelivable to me how hard obvious things are to admit too when one does not want to SEE...if you just read the words in thursday's DNJ...the team and coaches know this...

so blame the coach...or admit that their may be a few years that riverdale will be down...

as said before...give Coach A some time...realize what he has to work with...with this years team...which is a overall lower talent level...a much smaller line ...youth and inexperience and no one or two players that can take over a game...which will equal at least a 6-4 record...same coaching with average talent equals an average record...as experience and talent rises...the record will get better

call what you like the area has grown but talent is there its not being used as far as the past documented records go that don't impress me one bit when you don't correct the mistakes in practice

  15. I just wonder if the current R'dale players are gonna get introduced to the reality of the 'Snake' Monday? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

What about the reality of running a Mile for each fumble you have?

Coach, they are YOUR 'team', and NOT your friends. Yes, continue to help them get scholarships, but the offers will NOT come in if they are a losing team.

To the players, you now have the opportunity to prove ALOT of folks wrong and that the R'dale tradition of being a winner is NOT dead.

Now stink it up and work HARD, EVERYBODY!

Coach Mac and staff, Good Job as it was a good game to watch last night. I would tell 'Precious' to calm down on the flexing after the play as there are some refs that may flag him for it in the future.

yeah thats how yo handle it run the snake run the mile.maybe thats why they lost he played his friends had the Qb use a new ball that he wasn't use to a real leader a wolf in sheep's clothing
