  1. High School Athletes dream about making it to the next level. Many of them feel they are ready to make it big. But are they sure of that. Many of these kids are not in the shape they need to be to make it in college. This is coming from somone who has worked within the collegiate ranks. I would like to encourage these kids to get involved in D1 Sports Training. First class facilities with great experience from the strength staff. Please consider this, especially if they are not in workouts all summer or if they are a current senior, you may think its too late to now, but there are still DII and DIII schools out there wanting and needing athletes. So how much do they love the game? Are they willing to step up and train like the pros? Come check out your area D1. Locations in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis. Iron Sharpens Iron.

  2. Rhea Co vs. Clevland is by far the best there is a true hate there. They have gotten into full out brawls 5 times and is probably one of the best games across the state every year because great rivalry's arent between bad teams great rivalry's are between great teams and Rhea and Clevland are both that!!!!

Just because there is a brawl doesnt make it a rivalry, just a bunch of hot heads who get ticked off. Besides Rhea Co. is good at getting into brawls with someone like Fitzgerald as the head man.

HUUUUH! How can you say that! He has done a good job with our program this year. This is our first home playoff birth since 1999 and we are having one of are better years in a few years. Honestly I don't see why you and other people have issues with Fitzgerald. He has done a better job then the last coach who was at Rhea County. (He is also on that list). But its not worth arguing about the Bald wonder who is gone to Georgia.

Good coaches dont jump into a fight on the field, they break it up. If he was so good, why did he have to step down for Coach Hammontree? B/c he is not that good.

  4. No doubt in Rhea County the late Coach Bill Horton. He took Rhea to there only two state finals appearances in the schools history. His staff has some coaches who went on to have good careers at other schools and at Rhea County- Tim Hammontree, Brad Payne (won a state title in Georgia),and Current Offensive line coach Coach Mitchell and some of the players that coach horton coached are now coaches themselves at the high school- Coach Fitzgerald and Coach Smith.

Leave Fitzgerald off of that list, he is an insult to anyone.

  5. I beg to differ. It's not hope. It's confidence. And it has come from the new head coach. If you knew the man, then you'd understand.

There last coach gave them plenty of confidence, with four good athletes that builds that, b/c without that, they didn't have an athlete on that team.

  6. Let's get up to date. The player at Munford that came from Frayser is there because his two best friends had to go to Coach Randall to get in college. The East coach fixed highlight tapes for the two when the coach at Frayser made absolutely no effort to help these two kids get in school. Both players are presently on scholarship. Courtney Madison had originally planned to transfer to East High until Randall was fired. I remember several years ago when the newspaper ran the story about the Melrose player that went to Coach Randall for help getting in college when he and his coach had a falling out. Don't think that the Madison kid didn't hear about this! As far as comparisons, I read in the paper day before yesterday about the brawl in the cafeteria at Craigmont. 21 students and football players went to jail. Another day later the paper reported about the fights at Millington adn Trezevant. Think the two kids might get a better education at Munford. I don't think their school is on the state's targeted schools. Frayser and Melrose are! Maybe, just maybe these kids are interested in getting the best opportunity for both an education, a safe environment, and a chance to get into college by transferring. As a parent myself, if I could have my son receive scholarship money and not have to pay out of my pocket, I would have to seriously consider making the same type move these two young men have made.

That is the stupidest think I have ever heard, what type of coach would not help one of their kids get into college, if they were good enough, just maybe some of the kids weren't up to par, and the coach wasn't going to lie for them. Or just maybe there is more to this "Coach" Randall situation.

  7. every body needs to quit bein jealous just because yall know munford is gonna come out with a bang. if your gonna try the old illegal player trick, then you should be ashamed of your self.....58indians22......<<<<<

Well when this is coming from people within that program, you might want to believe it.

I highly doubt Munford will be challenging for the Region 7 4A title. That would be about the most amazing one year turn around in history.

I would have to definately agree. It would be a huge turn around. The previous coach, who was a great coach, didnt have much success, granted he never had too much help with other coaches, where this one got to bring in any body he wanted. Between that and bringing in all of these new players, who knows what could happen. I just wish someone would check and see if these new players are legal or illegal transfers.

  9. In my opinion and some others at USA Today and HS NFL the top ten ranking would be.

    Texas

    California

    Florida

    Pennsylvania

    Mississippi

    Michigan

    Maryland

    Georga

    S. Carolina

    Ohio

I think Tennessee would be in the top 20, I am sad to say. Some programs in Tennessee have set the state on the map, but over all colleges and the pro's look to the above states for top talent.

First Tennessee is no where up there. Second, Texas, California, Florida, and Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama are some of your top teams.

  10. I don't think that any sincere question is stupid.

I don't know where you live, but politics always

plays a role in sports in some way or another.

It CAN matter who you are, what church you go to,

whether or not a player has a parent that is a teacher,

works in the central office, or is buds with the coach.

Yes, talent matters BIG time, but other things factor in.

    Just my opinion....

    :)

You are the one who needs to be asked where you live. I have been around several programs and I know for a fact that a kid has never been played because of their parent. Anyone who thinks this is crazy, they need to go and watch a practice and sees what all goes on. Because there will be a reason why that is kid is starting over someone else. The reason may be the other kid has discipline problems or grades, or maybe that the other kid is just better. So, yes this is a stupid question to be asking. Coaches are competitive and want to win so that they can climb up to better jobs.

  11. I disagree. This team is not that bad. They have some of the most talent in the area they are just having trouble puting the pieces together. If Dobbs can get it together and their D can pick it up then i think we will see a trun around. But on the game SD-20 Rhea-14 good luck to both teams

Hate to say it, but Soddy's talent is no where were it used to be. Back when you had the Blue brothers and Duran and Jarvis Smith, Jones and all of that bunch. So I do not see them putting up over a .600 season this year.
