Since alcoa seems to be producing quality people (i.e. Sommers..... arrested for weed?)

and half of your slew of atheletes that get scholarships end up having to sit out a year because

Give alcoa some credit. They are good, hands down. they reload every year. they aren't doing anything illegal.

even though they are a open zone they will be one of the best teams around till someone can shut them down. For the most part alcoa's players do not have big egos. Sadly their fans make up for them and themselves in that department. other than that they are a VERY good football team

now if I'm not mistaken I think last year GP said that they will grind the ball and control the clock to win, but I also think that they didn't run the ball very well and when they tried to throw the ball they just found lanxter and sommers more than fiegler had to. IMO Alcoa wins, how bad is up to them. If you think Alcoa is coming in over confident, there not, they are playing as good now as they have all year not looking ahead and not over looking anyone. without a doubt GP is a good team or they wouldn't be 14-0 and in the state game, but Alcoa is also for real and when you lose to the potential 3-a, and the 4-a state champs by a combined 6 points when both games could have been W's then you have a reason to be a little confident. Alcoa will slow the run and air it out or run it doesn't matter.

Alcoa by at least 21+

you also forget that goodpasture beat a possible 3a state champ this year and VERY good D2 AA team who beat web in the regular season.... no blowout in this one

A few Alcoa posters may seem overconfident, but don't think that the Alcoa team and most Alcoa fans are overconfident. It is obvious that Goodpasture is a better team this year and I think it will be a much tougher game than last year.

I wouldn't let anyone in knoxville find out who you are... they may crucify for not being cocky enough

fulton barely beat a decent pearl cohn team... yea they weren't as good as they seemed and lipscomb has STOMPED everyone they've played this year.... fulton will need more than just a halfback to win this one lipscomb is just far better coached

If the kicking game was to be the difference, then wouldn't Goodpasture have the advantage? their kicker has started since a freshmen and is probably an allstate pick (don't know why he wouldn't be if you go on being consistent and not being able to kick a 53 yarder every seventh time)

I have no doubt that Goodpasture has improved greatly from last year. That was a young team last year and it showed early in the game. I have a feeling that this game will be much closer if GP can run the ball and control the clock. If they are forced to pass, they will be in trouble. All of us Alcoa fans remember the drubbing we took from David Lipscomb in 2003 and how we came and dominated DL in 2004. A year can make a big difference. This should be a good game if both teams make it to the final.

goodpasture's fan base is so horrible because nobody outside the football team supports the football team.... but we may have a record number of fans at an away game friday............ climbing to nearly one hundred cougar fans

Worst compition I've seen in my life. It was hard to choose which parts were slow motion and which parts weren't. I heard of Davidson Academy from winning state last year. From what I heard I thought they were pretty decent. No offense, but from the video Davidson would get blow off the field against any state champion in any classification. Oh yeah #56 wasn't that aweful where you had to call him out. I'm guessing there been a little tension, huh? When did Josh Williams play at Goodpasture?

Wow if the competion was any worse......... i take that back..... it can't get any worse.. that was awful....... are some of the schools in that class for the physicaly disabled....... wow

As long as you are not playing us I will always pull for Lipscomb. Show them that it don't matter how much they multiply us we will always be better than the rest.

i have noticed that.............. last year in the state semifinals huningdon had more than twice as many fans as GP had........ and it is true they can't fill their own home games even in the CPA game they had many more fans than GP did..... thats a shame

this title game is nothing more than a district/region championship... how can you have a state title game for 12 schools??? this private classification of A and AA is a joke...

DII AA and AAA are for real but the league that davidson plays in is a joke...... do they honestly think they are a good team beating "powerhouse" teams like st. george.... congradulations on your 2nd state championship you're better than 6 average teams in the state

Smith has already provided 1 major upset this year in beating Boyd. Who knows maybe they can pull a second upset in beating Alcoa.

I hope you are not basing your reasoning for beating alcoa on you guys beating boyd... CPA DESTROYED boyd 51 0 ( first team score) and alcoa is more talented than cpa so I suggest you play the best game you are capable of playing if you want to hang with alcoa

Maybe because it was a 13 point game today not a 35 point game. But in papatigers defense the QB was injured late in the 4th no way CPA could have came back.
