Ugliest football game I’ve seen in person. Lexington had 200 yards in penalties. Both teams had multiple turnovers. Officiating crew was a detriment to the game. Multiple stoppages of play to reset the ball or discussions among themselves. Both teams have a lot of work to do and will have long seasons ahead of them if they don’t improve.

The PC player has been air lifted to Vanderbilt. We would appreciate updates from any Firebird fans. Pray for him, his family and teammates.

PC has a player leaving in the ambulance. Say a prayer for that young man.

PC 27 - Lex 17 end of 3rd
-
PC leads 14-3 halftime. Poor clock management and a shanked punt by Lexington allows a late TD.

3-0 Lexington leads. End of the 1st.

Good places to eat in Lexington or should we just head to Jackson?
Baja Grill will be a good pregame meal. Scott's will probably be sold out by then.

No doubt! They have definitely turned things around. I felt like they’d win this game but not by that much. MacLaine must have had a big night.
He played one series in the second half. Lexington scored every possession except for a missed fg as the first half expired.

I did see the Greenbrier qb was injured against Marshall County last night. He is actually a better safety than qb. I do think iff he is available that the Bobcats can hang with and beat Hardin Co. If he is not available, that is a tall order.
Greenbrier plays Lexington Rd 1

Any truth to some ejections to some key PC players this past Friday? Or is this something my son and his friends heard that is completely false.
#7 for PC was ejected for getting two unsportsmanlike penalties (he lost a TD on the second as he turned to wave and blow a kiss to the defense on the 15 yard line). #24 for LHS was ejected for targeting. Losing #7 didn't slow them down very much. I think they scored 28 after losing him. #44 for PC got an early unsportsmanlike and it looked like the coach pulled him later to keep him from getting a second unsportsmanlike. After the game, PC had some fans harassing the officials as they were trying to leave over the ejections of the PC player.

Lexington lost #1 Jordan Smith QB/S to injury at the start of the 4th.

Word is Lexington posted the link early and bought up all the tickets. Heard they did the same thing last week. Some angry folks in Brownsville right now.
The schools don’t have the link. TSSAA controls that. Hardin county spouted that same line then absolutely packed the visitors side. There was an issue with the TSSAA site.

From what I’ve read in here and seen with Lexington in person, it looks like this will be a run heavy game. Admittedly, Lexington runs the ball well and primarily but to those people saying that all you have to do is stop the run to win. Yep, that’s all you have to do. Same way when Peyton Manning was in his prime, all you had to do was stop the pass. Scheming is sometimes easier than executing.
An interesting stat to consider for Lexington’s pass defense: I think Rivers Hunt threw 5 INT this year, 4 of them were by Lexington.
Lexington has a big experienced OL and a QB. They run a read/option offense that requires discipline to stop. It’s not a traditional option but the second you overcommit the other back will spring the ball.
I give Lexington the edge in kicking as well. If things stay true to form all kickoffs are touchbacks. That is a huge weapon to force the other team to start at the 20 and not have to risk a return. -
Looks a lot like he tripped when the defense went up for the ball. The receiver was expecting the ball at the goal line and it was overthrown. Here is the play from two angles:

Was pulling for Lexington... but how can you let that go uncalled?
You can hit the receiver within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Lexington intercepts the 2 pt attempt from Hardin Co. 21-20. Big Red Tigers head to the Semis.

14 all. 4:37 left. Whew.

According to FB, WZLT 99.3 will be live streaming the game. Some local businesses paid the TSSAA fee. Check their FB page.

I’m a Region 6 guy, but a Region 5 sweep wouldn’t surprise me at all.
