I don’t think Ben Carter as a potential candidate is being taken seriously from either side from what i’m hearing..though he deserves an opportunity. A lot of people don’t know this but he was deemed the successor of Swenson at Huntingdon before he got wrongfully cooed in middle school for Daddy Eubanks
there are 2 names that were and still are ahead of Ben Carter as the successor of Swenson when that time comes. One of those being carter's brother in-law. Not saying he wouldn't do well as the successor..

I have heard it started yesterday. I know only one name possibly two.
I am sure one of them is Reeder? who is the other possible?

Eubanks, tearing his meniscus in his Knee had to do alot with the lack of Offensive play scheme as well... not saying it would have been a victory, but Gray was not able to run as effectively due to the injury.
Prayers for our QB as he will be having reconstructive surgery on the knee tomorrow in Nashville.

Gray Eubanks, Huntingdon's QB , semi- finalist for Mr. Football in 2A has committed to Southern Miss for Baseball.

Loretto (9-0, 6-0 in 5-2A) at Mt. Pleasant (8-1, 5-1)
Time: 7 p.m. When: Friday
Loretto can wrap up the Region 5-2A championship with a win over Mt. Pleasant. However if the Tigers win, things could get interesting, especially if Lewis County beats Waverly to form a three-way tie for first place.
Kreager's prediction: Loretto 21, Mt. Pleasant 20
Robinson's prediction: Loretto 32, Mt. Pleasant 20
Palmateer's prediction: Loretto 35, Mt. Pleasant 21

will this game be streamed online?

Will the Waverly / Loretto Game be streamed any where to watch?

I can assure you that Huntingdon does not believe that we are unbeatable. As a matter of fact we know that if we dont play with the exact effort that we played against Riverside and Milan, we will undoubtedly be watching the Blue Cross Bowl on TV rather than participating in it. This Town and team are HUNGRY for a chance to get that gold ball. If we can continue to play at this level, then I think we will get that shot. We respect Milan and Riverside to much to think we have this in the bag.

I do think the 2 best teams out of these 2 regions is combined is Huntingdon and Riverside, but strictly going off what happened last year between Riverside and Lewis County, R5 could cause some havoc and surprise everyone on this side of the bracket. If Im not mistaken, winner of R5 would be able to host the 1st 3 rounds of the playoffs if they can run the table, but would have to travel for the Semi- Finals regardless of who they play. So Home field advantage in 2nd round against a Parsons or a Milan , could be critical!

Is everyone healthy in this one?
Everyone available?
our CB and one of our RB's, Leavitt tore his ACL this past game against Milan, and our offensive line has had some sickness this week.

Im just ready for some Good old old fashioned slobber-knocker football! I know that Riverside is going to bring there best and the fans will be passionate and huntingdon will have the same!
Safe travels my friends!!

My 2 cents, for what its worth!
Huntingdon/ Riverside is not a rivalry, however .. in Riverside's eyes this is the team they love to hate and have the upmost respect for. Huntingdon also respects Riverside immensely.
I have several close friends that live in Parsons, and they have kids who are starters on this team. They do not think they are going to run all over us, they do not think they are better than us at all. Riverside is well-aware that the record books are one-sided.
They are also aware that both teams are very good right now. This game is going to have a Playoff type atmosphere. Region championship could very well be on the line for this game. I for one am glad that this game is in Huntingdon.
If Huntingdon wins, it pretty much solidifies them as region champions which will mean we host all 4 rounds of the playoffs if we are able to advance that far. If Riverside wins, it will come down to there game with Milan. So again, huge game for both teams here!
Riverside is currently ranked #1 in state, Huntingdon is ranked #5.. but rankings dont mean anything! The game is played on the field not the newspapers.
I honestly feel as if Huntingdon's and Parson's rushing attack will eat up both teams defense. which team eliminates the turnovers? that could be the difference! Can Huntingdon continue to make its extra points? That could be the difference in this ball game as well!.
My prediction....
Huntingdon - 34
Riverside - 28

I wasn't at the game, but I believe that 16-6 was the JV. I believe the varsity was 21-3. Somebody who was there that can confirm?

ouch! If from injury, hoping for a speedy recovery. I guess that moves Trenton up in the 4th spot for me as well.
actually... he quit the team...

I work with a guy from Adamsville who follows their sports programs pretty closely. He told me that Adamsville has lost its starting QB, and this has weakened their offense pretty significantly. He is thinking 5-5 record for Adamsville.
my early predictions for region rankings.
1.) and 2.) -- toss up 50/50 between Huntingdon and Riverside
3.) Milan
4.) Trenton

2 months away from Jamboree at Paul Ward Stadium..
Huntingdon has almost all of its starter back from last year and should be in contention for Region Championship... Parsons Riverside, has just as many starters returning and will be right there with Huntingdon.
With the new region including Trenton, Milan, JCM, Camden, Gibson County.. this will be a different schedule than we are used to..
our non region games of Crockett County and Columbia Academy will be interesting as I dont think we have played each other before in the regular season...
So excited to start watching and cheering on these boys!

during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
