GC,
Her name is Ashia Jones.....She is a Senior.....played at Brighton as a Sophomore where Lanier coached her.....led by jones they had a strong year.....she then moved to Illinois where she played on the state runner up team.....her family and most friends reside in tipton co so she transferred back to graduate near her people.....at Bhs she lead the team in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore......in Ill she had 10 PTs and 12 rebounds in the title game.....she is the real deal.......13aa will have to go through Cov bc of her!!!!!

Gibson beat Huntingdon tonight by 6.... I've heard Covington got a transfer post player in that's the real deal. When someone sees her, give some insight!
-
T T wasn't even heard of as a sophomore and Fair could be a Miss Basketball finalist...she has 1100 points and counting. Just sayin
Wrong again dude!!!! She led her team to state as a freshmen scoring 21 in that game......and was known statewide! Was also ranked high on the Bolus rankings after her freshmen year!! She has been known statewide since before her freshmen winning 2 Aau state championships! Get your stuff together nut job!!!

Was also region mvp her freshmen year!!!!!!!

I thought you had a little basketball sense but now i see you are off your rocker.Te Te could average 30 points a game if the coach chose to do so.I know you're happy UC is going to the dance and you should be.And I'll be there hoping Lake Co wins, then I hope the Lake Co faithful supports UC and hopefully Obion Central.Would love to play UC for the Gold Ball.If we did,I'd be more than 90 percent sure LC wins by at least 10 points.
So a Fair led UC team beats a TT led LC team once in 7 tries and now Fair is better than TT anyday....LOL!!!!! Fair doesn't have the pedigree that TT has , the experience or the character.....she may one day soon but right now its not close....closer than it was but still not quite!!! TT would average 30 or 40 a game if she wanted to...but she knows it is better team wise for the ball to be spread around!!! Hope to play yall one more time and put this all to rest!!!!!

Can't go by stats on some of the girls.I know for a fact ,T.t. Flowers could have averaged 30 points a game this year had the coach wanted her too.Has over 2,000 points and probably as many assists and steels.in her career.Doubt she 's played in a complete game 5 times this year. But when you are beating a team 29-3 or 24-0 at the end of the first quarter, most coaches arent going to leave their starters out there. But her scoring isnt what is the key.Her ball handling, the passes she can make ,you'd just have to witness some of them.Like one of the radio announcers said. She is the one that sets the table. As fast with the ball as most girls are without the ball. And made the District All Academic team as well.
TT has averaged probably about 16 to 18 minutes a game playing time due to blowouts.....she has also averaged a high number of assists....she could have scored much more had her minutes been higher....Heather Butler of Gibson County....now of UTM averaged 31 minutes per game and had a higher point total for that reason (just a comparison of a former Miss Basketball winner to a present finalist)
-
Carnation Hart of Lake County should be a finalist.....She has scored over 1500n points and has over 1000n rebounds in her back career.....if she played on a team without TT.....she would prolly be in the mix!!

So from reading all these posts...... We go from no contact to very little contact to not enough contact to knock a kid down. I'm not surprised by the discontent with the officiating. I have not seen an official this year that can enforce or cares to enforce the "Traveling" violation as it is written.
Very few officials know what a travel is!!!! TO 95% of them if it looks funny it is a travel.....Hardest call to make and most missed call in the game.....some officials dont call it much cause they are not sure.....and others call everyting a travel and half are not!!

There has to be contact for any common or personal foul. The rule is both for safety and sporting play. Players were "feinting" contact and that is considered unsporting (thus a technical penalty, as well as posing an injury threat). Best early to call a block and warn players of the a penalty to follow if the it occurs again. High school players and coaches are well aware of this rule.
This post is 100% correct.....it is the rule.....it is unsporting....it is dangerous.....watched a game recently in which a team's star point guard on a run out tore her ACL when a defender sprinted down and feinted or "FLOPPED" for a charge... result.....a no call.....a torn ACL.....a ruined senior season for this girl....What will it take for officials whose responsibility it is to enforce the rules....to actually enforce "THE RULES".....a lawsuit!!!!

Yes I was shown a paper today that Moore County must be sending out to coaches all over state. It was her and Raby, they are self promoting their kids? I guess if it gets their name out
Yes Moore County is sending out "Flyers" promoting their 2 candidates for Ms Basketball......Good idea to do this and smart to promote your kids.....however the other side of the coin is.....can this be considered shameless promotion.....don't know but I do know i have seen Lake County play Moore several years ago with the same group of girls playing now.....and TT had her way with them....all may have improved since then but pretty strong indicator.....anyway....Moore County's 2 and Lake County's 2 should receive consideration....Carnation Hart is every bit as important and as good a player as Moore County's 2 and of course we all know where TT stands!!!!!

Again, LAKE COUNTY'S TAKEYHA TT FLOWERS......2000 CAREER POINTS.....400 ASSISTS (AT LEAST).....400 STEALS.....700 REBOUNDS.....this kid does it all......best scorer on team....second best rebounder on team...best assits.....best steals....the complete package.....

Takeyha "TT" Flowers from Lake County!!!! She has arguably been the best player in district 14a for several years.....Took OVER her team as the team leader as a Freshman.....lead her team to state as a freshmen and a junior.....She is the complete package!!!!

After watching the girls, kinda a little worried even though they are winning big.Sometimes the defensive intensity doesnt seem to be there. And looks like Lake Co is going to go as far as T.T. carries them.Had a 16-3 lead or something close in the first quarter and T'T. went to the bench and before I could blink my eyes a few times the score was about 18-15.And we are missing way too many layups.I'm pretty sure we're close to the record for most missed layups. Not going to beat the Jackson Co's,Moore co's ,etc. with what I've been witnessing.Going to be the same ole story.A great regular season.Maybe a great region and then lose in the sub-state or state. With most of thse girls being 3 or 4 year starters ,should be blowing teams out and they are beating most preety bad mostly because other teams dont have the ball handling.I'm just not sold on this team.Hopefully I'm wrong. This team isnt close to the team with T.T.,Carnation,Mariah Matthews,Abbot,Phelps in my opinion. They can win the whole thing if they play with more intensity and start hittng free throws and layups. But against a top team ,can also have a quick exit.

Your hesitance on being sold is understandable......however.....it is a long season and these are HS kids....at times they will hit a mid to late season "lag".....but you better believe by the time tournaments start that fire to play D and hustle more will be rekindled....not that this "lag" is acceptable but sometimes we must realize they are just kids!! COME FEBRUARY IT WILL BE THERE!!!

PS there are many teams that miss lay ups at a much higher rate than LC.....at anytime!!!!! I promise!!!

Ripley Lady Tigers will struggle this tear as senior phenom Kiniesha Maclin is out for the year....The merry go round of coaches has caused a tough situation at Ripley......Lanier has moved from Brighton to Ripley......due to issues with practice most seniors and juniors have parted ways with the team.....Lanier has set the tone in his first year......as Ripley gets their program going the athletes are there......if discipline, commitment and work ethic can be instilled they will be a force to reckon with in the future!!!
