This was the worst shooting night the Falcons have had in probably 2 years. They couldn't hit from the outside, couldn't hit from the inside, and most definately couldn't hit from the free throw line. At halftime LC was 3-12 from the line and UC was 6-15 from the line. I know Channin missed 5 in a row. It was a terrible shooting night for the Falcons. I said in an earlier post, if either team had a bad shooting night, they would get blown out of the gym. You can't have a bad shooting night when you play either of these teams. You just can't do it. Lake County missed enough EASY lay-ups and free throws to win this game by 15. Another thing I don't understand is why Whitby didn't play Copelin play more than he did. He didn't play the whole second half. He gets A LOT of put backs and gets A LOT of rebounds. We definately needed rebounds tonight. We were out rebounded very badly. Back to Kevin, why doesn't he let him play? He gets in there and hustles and works hard in the post for the ball and gets a whole lot of lay ins. Bigster, I know you have to agree with me on this. I just don't understand Whitby sometimes and the way he does things. Let the kid play!! He is good and he helps us out tremendously!! You know, I've heard people say how UC will blow LC out everytime they play them, UC can be beat and they probably would have if LC wasn't off so badly. I know the score would have definately been closer. UC can be contained and they are very beatable. I have to give them credit though, they are a very good ball club and I see them doing pretty good this season. Have they played Humboldt or Trenton yet? I don't think they have, but those will both be good games too. I knew after halftime that it was over. When LC is off, they are off and more than likely they get beat against good teams. Was it just me, or did it seem like both teams got away with A LOT of walks. I am not making excuses, because I said BOTH, but it just seemed like they walked down the floor instead of run. I guess they just let them play, I don't know. Maybe it was just me. Anyway, Weddle is very good, but he can be stopped also. Sep played very good defense on him, but he got a lot of his points from fast breaks. His got cocky one time after a play and the ref T'd him up. The ref said he was running his mouth, but he is a excellent player. I believe the next match will be a little better. I could be wrong though. Maybe Union City will have a bad shooting night next time we play. It's still early in the season and there are a lot more games to be played. Tourney time is what matters. Anyway, congrats to Union City. They are a good team and they will win plenty more games this year. Keep you heads high Lake County. It's just one loss and this game is over with. Now we have to worry about our next big district game on Friday against Trenton. Best of luck to you guys!!
The big 5 in this district are all beatable!! Weddle is the best palyer in the district by far! LC shot horribly! Where Was Tony Tyler (heard his middle knuckle on his shooting hand was swollen double in size)? Why does septian continuously drive the hoop and 3/4 of the time throw up junk? Yes drive but dish it off about half the time. Turn Channin Geanes and Brandon Springer loose they are the most explosive slashers on the team and can also shoot the three!! LC also was blown off the boards!! Keep the big boy in (Copelin) to get put backs and defensive rebounds. Also, we can run and outrun anybody up and dpwn the court (Halls, Humboldt, etc.) but against UC bring the game to snails pace if LC wants a chance! LC vs. UC round two will be a different game LC may not win but the outcome will be much closer!! I thought this district would be a 3 horse race (LC and UC and Humboldt) until I saw Trenton and Halls play. This is a wide open 5 horse show with UC at the top by a nose. It will be a shame to see one of these five at home for regionals! The main reason LC lost-----the floor general lost confidence in his shot because of his injured hand. The rest of the team followed his lead in the confidence category. Tony must get it back and one or two more Falcons must step up!!!

Yep, this is what I've said since I found out that UC & LC were competing in the same district.
mrbigster- I heard there were 20 free throws missed by LC, & I hate to say it, but Papa's absence may cost LC a state championship appearance.
papas absence will not be the reason LC lost to UC or for missing the state tournament!! HE is tall, but not tough, at times doesn't hustle, and can be replaced in the liine up by someone younger but with a few games under their belt , better. Also, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch (this not the first or second time trouble was spelled papa)(papa didn't play in the substate game except for the tipoffs because of team rules violations and was also kicked off earlier this year)----Seems like the best thing to do is cut the cancer off!!!!! the team will better in the long run!!

be careful lcf6!! Halls is very athletic, fast and has some good inside play as well. They also get up and down the court as good if not better than LC. Also, Halls lost to UC by only 6 or 8 last week. They actually lead by ten in the first half at one point. Dont get me wrong, I believe that LC, UC, and Humboldt are top dawgs in this district but Halls and Trenton will decide who places where by virtue of which of these teams they slip up on!!

The prison comment is uncalled for and immature. Grow up wescharge! Gleason may very well beat LC girls by 15 but don't look for LC girls to make it easy. Also, LCHS faculty, staff, and students are as good if not better than any single A school in the state! So don't put down a school or their atmoshpere until you live or work there.

Who is Lake County`s coach and where did he come from (experience)?
I`m just assuming they don`t have the same coach anymore who led them to the mires that they were in for several years after being one of the top 1A teams in the state in the 90`s.
It is not always the Coach that leads a team into the dumps! Sometimes the talent just dries up for a few years! That is one major difference in 1a football than 3 or 4a. The kids for LCHS football at this time are great kids and also talented. The begining of the rough patct came from a jr high bunch that won one game in three years. In small school football cycles happen. Dont always blame a coach or any one else realize what you have. Look out in two years, the talent may be shallow again!!!

Nice to know you'll be back in west tn bw68. LC had a wake up call in more ways than one. If LC pulls their head out of their proverbial rearend and shoots LC gets the win. I have seen Trenton thei year and they are much much better than most are giving credit. My pick LC by 5 in a roof raiser. If the bad shooting continues trenton by 15!!
