Red Bank seems to be very athletic but they really played out of control. They looked for nothing but the 3 ball all night and it wasn't falling. My guess is Red Bank was 2 or so for 20 or so from 3 point land. Red Bank has no inside game.

 

According to the stats on WGRV, Red Bank only hit (1) 3 pointer, that being in the 2nd quarter.

You better believe it...and they proved it beating Red Bank by 19 points 62-43.

They held Red Bank to (1) 3 pointer, and lead the whole game.

playing 1a basketball is closer to elementary basketball. playing 3A basketball is closer to college basketball. in college ball sometimes if you are a freshman or sophmore you dont get any playing time. you have to wait till your a junior or senior unless your really good. at cosby all you have to do is shoot. if you can shoot you are a star at cosby. every once in a while cosby will get an all around good player(blakely).

cocke county would not be losing if they had the players that was suppose to go cocke county. for example, about 3 or 4 years ago when cocke county went to the 2nd round of the region touranment. they had everybody they should had. seth jones ryan lindsey jerome carmichael, brett kickliter, jonathon styles, (the year before markie left) they had beaten doybns bennett and had tennessee high beat but they scored 3 points in the 3rd quarter. if the players that went to cosby had just been patient and stayed at cocke county they would be winning. i think going to the second round in the region in AAA is more than getting beat in the 1st round of the state tournament in A.

 

cocke county would be better if they had the players (that are scared of actually playing against players that are actually better than them) go to cosby.

 

Just because you are playing AAA basketball doesnt mean you are playing on a higher level than A. Classification is based on the number of students in the school, not how good you are. Any AAA team could be worse than a A team, especially if the AAA team has no one interested in playing for their crappy program anymore. Scouts look for winning programs, no matter what classification. They look for the teams that are being promoted, ie AP Polls, no matter who does or doesnt vote.

As far as Cosby players being afraid of playing against teams that are better than them. They have beaten pretty badly two AAA teams and a AA team, that your precious cocks couldnt beat. Plus went out of town and played some tough competition over Christmans break, while your precious cocks were at home eating left over turkey.

Kinda surprised to see Cosby getting seven first place votes. But then again, I can guess who gave them those votes.

Good to see more voters than last week, though.

That is exactly what happened. The poll was overloaded on East TN Voters last week; not to mention, voters were encouraged to use CoachT and the Win/Loss Rankings and Strength+Success Ratings to help with the voting.

 

Biased or not, they got the ranking, and it goes down in the record book as that.

oh yeah, cosby does usually get some of the better players from cocke county but now they just have gone too far. they got the best player on cocke countys team. he was just too good for cocke county so he went to cosby. they did a good job of recruiting austin warren. cocke county will miss him. lol

Seems like a little less than two years ago everyone was running their mouth about Dexter like you just did about Austin. Dex never was given the chance to prove how good he is at CCHS just the same way Austin and a few others that have quit have been treated beacuse he didnt come from NGS. Guess Dex is getting the last laugh. He is playing for the #1 team in the state instead of playing for a team that has only won 4 games.

I saw PF play at Greeneville back before Christmas. Greeneville was ahead by almost 30 in the first half, but PF came out firing in the 2nd half, hitting everything they shot. They still lost by 17, but had Greeneville fans worried about pulling an upset.

Cosby should pull out the win, but they can't over look PF, or anyone else for that matter.

 

PS... Tell Timmy I saw his grandmother at Wal-Mart yesterday and she was telling me about his monster jam on Friday night.

I may be wrong but I believe this thread was started for people and fans in the community to talk about their #1 ranked Cosby Eagles not argue with CCHS fans about who is better. Listen it doesn't matter who would win a game between Cosby and CCHS and if they played it would be an ugly game on the floor and in the stands because of years of feelings about each other and why one kid goes to one school and not another. Of course I am going to be biased to Cosby but unlike CCHS fans sittin in Newport hoping Cosby looses every game they play in every sport I wish the best for CCHS since because of classification they can't stand in cosbys way no matter what. True Cosby gets a few athletes from the newport area every year but for years CCHS got athletes from Cosby to play Football. Great game last night EAGLES Midway tried to force you to play slowdown boring chump league ball and you just poured it on with a total team effort. Blakely played his usual dominate game in the post with one huge put back SLAM!! Manning played great on both sides of the ball and Rone turned in the best defensive performance I've seen him play all year. J. Lowe you da man coming off the bench to add the spark your team needed at the right time. Keep working hard and have faith in your teammates and this will be a special season.

 

Sorry old24eagle, but I had had enough of his mouth. Just wanted to stand up for Cosby. Tired of everyone bashing them. I know all of the kids on the team and I know how hard they have worked to get where they are. The kids deserve more than the bad mouthing they get from CCHS fans.

It is, but unfortunately, it had to be intruded upon by a Cosby basher who thought he knew it all, posted 25+ rude comments about Cosby and Greeneville, tried to upscale CCHS during their 2 game winning streak, and then chickened out on his comments and deleted them all. At least Cosby has a post for it's supporters. More then I can say about CCHS. It's pretty bad to have a post on the football side about the hiring of a coach, but none in the basketball side supporting a 2 game winning streak.

as i said a win is a win and a loss is a loss. it doesnt matter if they lost in overtime. all that matters is they lost. cocke county can match up the intensity. the reasons they won their last two games was because they was intense.

Greeneville better watch out??? Please... Greeneville took #3 ranked Red Bank into overtime on Saturday. Should have beaten them but missed 3 free throws at end of regulation that would have won the game. Cocke Co can't match the intensity that Greeneville plays with.

is 1A basketball really good basketball? it is sad because people do like to see Cosby play more than cocke County. cosbys style of basketball is to jack threes. people like to see that. cchs is more disciplined. Joe McGaha can probably shoot just as good anybody on cosbys team but you dont see him shootin 10 threes a game. i dont see how anybody could enjoy watching cosby beat up on teams like Gibbs Greenback North Greene Midway TSD Grace christian Wasburn.

it is sad but people really do think that is good basketball. i would rather see Cosby get beat 30 by a team that actually plays basketball than see Cosby win by 30 on a team that has no basketball skills.

if somebody really loved basketball they would play for anybody.

 

It must be a lot of other people besides the ones in Cocke County that think this is good basketball. #1 ranking in the state of TN says it all.

 

As far as playing weak teams, seems like CCHS had a hard time beating West Greene (only by 5 points), considering West Greene had a 41 game losing streak when CCHS barely beat them. It's pretty bad when a AAA team has to play A teams to get numbers in the win column. Much unlike Cosby who is A and plays AAA teams and win.
