I am not downing da at all. They are a great team and have good size. But all I was sayin is that they are not the best team they will face in the season. Trousdale county is a team more country boy than jo burns and cascade and could probably do them worse than da did. For that also south Pitt has been to state and won how many years? Granted da is a great gem I just don't believe they at the beat team cascade will face or has faced in the past 30+ years
respect your opinion......the rest is yet to be seen.....any radio coverage or internet coverage of the game friday night? sounds like a trenches type game....thanks in advance.
-
Two good football teams there, '06-JB or '07-MP
to be real honest i think whoever that was that said the da team that cascade played was the best team they palyed in the past 30 years is on some amazing drug that aint been discoverd yet!! i believe last years jo byrns team beat them in a scrimmage by 2 or 3 touchdowns last year.
Very untrue. 17 14 with no. 40 not playing but a series and a half. Not worth getting him hurt. It paid off with another Gold ring. Should be a good battle. Cascade is big up front but i know that JBS will be too....country boys on country boys. Friday night lights as the best. Goodluck to all. Davidson is off and will wait another week to battle. Long way from home JBS. Main thing is everyone have fun playing football and drive safely.
P.S. is this game on the radio or internet? I would like to hear something on it.
thanks in advance

Total domination by DA on both sides of the ball. Great ball team. Champs got one week to work out the kinks before a good Jo Byrns team gets to the stable. Tackling and blocking must improve!
Thanks for the respect. You guys will be fine. We are the only DII team you play. You have a great line on both sides. You will not face a Back like Williams again. I personally think with the line size you have.......a power offense like DA run may be a better fit. You guys are good. Just got to have the right offensive scheme.........Defensively, it was not fair. Like I said, You will not see a Williams in your region. Spoke to 87 on the way out. GREAT KID and huge!!!!!! You guys will be fine. Thanks for stepping up and getting better tonight. A long way from home. Great turnout from cascade.

wow. i figured DA would win, but man, i didnt exspect that score.
I picked DA but I did not think it would be that bad....
When you play with a Rattle Snake......you are going to get bit.....Williams had 24 carries....270 yds.....4 td's.....Division II is tough.....you guys will be fine. I HOPE everyone makes it home safely.

I hear good things about Cascade and they have a ton of talent coming back. Replacing the QB will be big, but I hear this one might be better. Davidson is going to pound the ball with the Williams' kid, but I think Cascade is big enough to stop them up front. I think Cascade wins this one, pretty easy:
Cascade 31
Davidson 14
ckeck out this video... the Williams kid is for real...
The most important thing is everyone have fun. Pray for no rain, no one get hurt and everyone get home safely. No. 27 posted. I know everyone is excited. Two great teams kicking it off. It will be so much fun.

Hey, Dll, can you recommend any good restaurant close by? I'm probably meeting up with Logger before the game, so they'll have to serve beer.
No restaurants close by really. You should either stop somewhere before you get there or go up one more exit to the Springfield/Jolton exit and come on in to Springfield like you did for the JB game.
Agree with poster about nothing there. I do believe there is a Mexican resturant on the exit isn't there? Do not know about serving beer. Recommend you stop in Nashville, maybe in Hickory Hollow area on the way if you take I-24. Just food for thought.

It will be an exciting game just to see where everyone is. Davidson returns the entire line on both sides and a returning backfield. It will be fun to watch.

All most game time. Can not wait. Hope the weather is good. Hate those rainy starts. Davidson and Cascade should be a great non region battle.
-
wish you well stbulldog. Hope your team, whoever you like, does well. Time will tell. Good luck once again and may we all hope to be in Cookville.
If not, there is always next year. Good luck as stated.

ECS will hand Davidson their hat if and when they play this season. Christian Brothers is in the top seven of number of state championships in all sports in the state of Tennessee. This is remarkable considering they can't compete in girls sports for state titles, this number reflects only boysIn looking at all the state rankings for the last 10 years Webb and ESC typically appear among the top 30 teams in the state regarding all classifications. They have played tough schedules year in a year out and both are always top 10 schools in their cities, Knoxville and memphis. They are actually moving down a division so anyone would have to put them at the front. FRA and DCA use to have strong programs in the late 90's, but im not sure how they have been of late. I hear the jackson school has had a few good teams aswell. I think ECS and Webb are quite a bit better than the old D2A teams that have played since 2005, but thats all i know. I think they should have kept Webb and ECS in D2's upper division.
Have to agree about the excitement this year with more teams. Do not blame ECS and Webb for moving down. Numbers usually always win. How many students does MUS have? I wonder why the large school in memphis that plays DII AA does not win with their numbers? Is it christan brothers?
sports which makes it even more remarkable. Don't forget to YOU TUBE when Davidson plays ECS, I will watch that.
You maybe right....however you never know....I will never speak of something I am not familiar with....While you are in Cookville at the end of the year, why don't see for yourself? I mean while you are there anyway, you can................................oh....i forgot...your a Pope Guy. You probably will not be there. I will be happy to post for you. I suppose if I was due another O FER I would not be happy either. I respect every team and any team can be beat on a given night. Good luck to Pope as well.
No hard feelings stbulldog and hope you get to feeling better.

We have a good team. Justin is good....however the lines... both sides and a great D......you guys are known in Nashville for being tough. You guys battled GP for several years. We enjoyed the fun.
No. 79 is huge. You do not need a backer behind him because he can move. Love to see what those big DE/TE do this year. You guys are really good. Make sure the Team knows that.
Good Luck,

We at Davidson enjoyed the scrimmage with Camden Friday night. A long way to go for a scrimmage, however, it was still fun. Camden was very respectful as well. Hope you guys have a great season and goodluck with the 6'-3" DE/TE dude.....he was a very nice person/player.
best

Does anyone out there think there is a chance they will play in the post season? I really enjoy playing against the great coaching staff that St. George has. Gonna miss FACS SBEC St. George Harding and others if we don't get a chance to see them.
Maybe someone from the west can give us an update on those schools.
-
wondering how Camden fits in thie year in the west. Read the thread so far and not a lot of talk about them. They always seem to come to play year in and year out. Just wondering. We played them Friday night. Read about this big TE/DE dude. On offensive he did not do alot, maybe planned it that way, however, on defense he was very good....has a nose for the ball. They also had a lineman #79 all of 300+ lbs that would move....lol....don't even need a backer behind him. Just wondering what you guys think of them this year.
They were also a very repsectful team on the field, not like some we have had in the preseason. Good luck to all....1A and 2A has a lot of talent this year.

I was teasing, I know that it was close I also know that your coaches were not happy though. Although since we made it to the finals that probably took the sting out somewhat. No one was expecting us to go very far last year we came as a surprise The person up the middle that you are referring to is probably matt bohler if you are talking about the line. I haven't heard if he is playing anywhere next year or not. We don't normally get alot of attention from colleges maybe our second place finish will change that a little.
That is cool. I remember # 40 scored in the first series...then in the second.....two guys stood him up and big man came in....wow.....not worth it.....so proud you guys did what you did last year. That maybe him that you mentioned. I heard from someone in the area that he did not even play until his JR year or something like that? I remember he as corn fed and tall as well. I wanted you guys to beat Trousdale so bad.
Some WKU people were there that night...did not know....our kicker went on to UTM. He scored the winning field goal in the east/west game at carson newman.
It was just not worth getting #40 hurt. You think you guys will play tough this year? I know that CASCADE is always tough......
-
Are you talking about the one that we had with DA last year or one that I have missed this year. If you are talking last preseason I was not impressed with DA. We pretty much did everythinig that we set out to do in that under the lights scrimmage. Were you at that scrimmage?
lol....I was there.....BYRNS won 13 10....#40 did not play alot.....you guys hit hard....did not want to take a chance on him being hurt in a scrimmage......dont you remember? big dude in the middle hit hard....corn fed....
is he going to play college anywhere? he was a big dude
-
I plan to be there!
I have been reading the CASCADE thread It seems like you guys had a great season last year. Your coach has created a tough early schedule which will indeed make you better in the end.
I have to say though that there was someone earlier in the thread that said Davidson Academy can not beat tough 1A schools. I care to differ alot. lol
Ask the Jo Byrns' coaches about an under the lights scrimmage we had with them in red devil country....preseason
Ask a Good Jackson Christian Team (2A) we beat last year in Bear Country wich made it to the semi's
Ask Marlon Brown and Harding Academy about the State game. (#1 player in the state that chose Georgia)
Ask BGA what they think?
It will be a great opening game......can not wait.....I want to give you guys a big welcome to bear country with the states leading rusher.
-
just guessing but I would say they'd almost be obligated to because they
have experienced players returning at every position except guard
it wouldnt make a lot of sense to sit somebody who played 11 games at
a position just so somebody else can go both ways? they will have a
couple of new starters at the guard positions but unless something has
changed drastically thats about it. The top two rbs will be different but
due to injuries the "new" ones will have plenty of totes from last year.
As a group I would say their rbs will be the best in a long, long time...I know
with Zack Evans, Jacob Ritter, and Tanner Sanderson they got at least
three who can go the distance on any snap and Im serious when I say that
Qb Max Risner is a very good runner in his own right
Because most everybody has plenty of snaps under their belt I expect them
to be up and running close to full speed from game one as opposed to struggling
while new guys get broke in. The backs are REAL quick and Kaleb Clark
is a big time outside threat at receiver. Hes the same guy who caught a
bunch of passes against waynesboro last year (including some big ones that
got called back) They also got experienced qbs with big arms to get him
the ball out there. Clark is a real bad dude
I look for the Wood to put up a ton of points this year...lots of tds and big plays
hopefully they wont have the injury bug as bad as last year
Davidson Academy in week 4? Welcome us to Trojan Country
Sounds like it will be a good game.

Per TSSAA, MUS has 828 students. Christian Brothers has 1,778
thanks, that is a lot of students for a private school. Has to be the largest in the state i suppose. Wish them luck.

Is Knox Webb not in D-II AA with MBA, McCallie, MUS, etc...?
ESC and Knox are in DII A this year

I'm excited to see how USJ does. Back in the late 90's my dad and I would go and see them play and they always seemed to go undefeated and make a decent run in the playoffs. They got pretty screwed having to move up to DI-2A, so hopefully they get back to their old ways.
Do not know who will win it at this point. Just a short video of SBEC and marlon brown with Justin as a Sophomore
