1. I know no one has ever cared about Blackman, especially considering our HORRIBLE season last year, but this year we gained 3 talented freshmen.

and the juniors who tentatively led the team last year will be able to take more control, which was something that was holding us back last year. no one really knew if they could listen to us.

i think we may prove more of a threat this year.

Sometimes freshman aren't able to make a huge impact coming in and playing with more physical and dominant players. But who knows, they might be able to.

This is just my personal opinion of how the district will play out:

    1. Siegel

    2. Riverdale

    3. Cookeville

    4. Blackman

    5. Lebanon

    6. White Co.

    7. Warren Co.

    8. Oakland.

But 5-7 could always switch around. You never know how those teams will perform. Even though Cookeville lost key seniors last year I still think they will have a strong senior class coming up.

  2. haha i'm sure sydney will step in and fill meredith's place nicely although i do know it will feel strange to not have meredith in there just because she has been there our whole career....we can all trust syd in goal 100% and i don't really think we could ask for anyone better to step in after meredith.

    Very nicely put. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  3. QUOTE(soccerplayr5 @ Jun 4 2007 - 12:13 PM) 826471173i played select with syd for several years. on the murfreesboro strikers.

Was Kati Ramsay your coach one year?

  4. QUOTE(soccerplayr5 @ Jun 3 2007 - 09:51 PM) 826470988when i played select with syd, she was probably one of our better goalies, but she'd often refuse to play in goal.

has she gotten over that stubborness?

when did you play select with syd.

  5. QUOTE(offsides @ Jun 3 2007 - 08:46 AM) 826470730Does a players age factor and weigh more than the talent level she is currently playing with, for, against and HAS?

Would you happen to be claires dad? Not necessairly but there is a huge difference between 14-15 and 17-18. If she has talent to be able to start varsity but sydney has just as much or more then I would believe that syd would start just because she's older and has been playing against the more physical players. But a players age has to factor in somewhere.

  6. QUOTE(Manchester @ Jun 1 2007 - 01:17 PM) 826470093Collierville has some extremely strong Juniors as well.

Was the girl who was centermid and number 18 i think a senior? I heard she trained with the national team.

  7. QUOTE(mjuhb @ May 31 2007 - 08:10 PM) 826469862well with the tough schedule and no anna grace a freshman in goal is a really bad idea

    but you can play a freshman during the region tournament /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I wasn't saying to play her. That's why I asked if you were talking about her because it's not such a good idea to throw a freshman into the fire. I strongly believe (or perhaps its hoping) that anna will be back for the season.

And I think we will play with the strongest team we can in the region. Thanks though. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  8. QUOTE(mjuhb @ May 31 2007 - 07:37 PM) 826469846sydney dewberry has been playing in goal for arsenal

i talked to willie mayberry this mourning and he said that she was playing better goalie than cheryl

but of course its eric's call and if he needs her more on the wing so be it

True. Syd has been playing better than cheryl as of late. I thought you were talking about the new freshman. My fault.

I think there will be some surprise at the wing though.

  9. QUOTE(mjuhb @ May 31 2007 - 05:02 PM) 826469782we host hendersonville august 9th so i will be able to make a evaluation on them early on

i have heard good things about the new siegel's goalie and anna grace's acl injury hurts too

but if siegel can replace the 2 marking backs they will be fine IMO thats a hard position to replace

What goalie are you talking about? Claire something? Yes, anna's injury doesn't help but I have full confidence that she will return soon. As of now, she's making very good progress.

Yes, you are correct. Brittney Winn did indeed committ to UT.

  10. It's a fact. Hannah has committed to UT. I don't know about Molly Delk as to how she will "get on" but it is a fact that UT has offered and Hannah has committed. She and Lara committed the same week.

Well Molly is committed to. Just forget what I said about how Molly's getting on lol. So it's Molly, Lara, Hannah, Anna, and then Winn hasn't committed but they have been recruiting her and giving her offers. That's a strong five. Well two seniors and 3 juniors but still a strong five freshman sophomore combination.

  11. QUOTE(im_tj_m @ Jan 30 2007 - 10:31 PM) 826352500

no theres always pushing off. Then when oakland takes the ball down court they reach like crazy. Plus ur a siegel player so that counts you out of this

Yes a siegelplayer but not a basketball siegel player. If i'm not on the basketball team then I am still a part thanks. Siegel got called on the foul when they reached. Plus, minor pushing off has always been apart of the game. Maybe you would know if you played on the team.

Soph..... the play happened right before me and the girl tripped over our girl's feet and went flying looking as if she got pushed. If you saw it from an angle where you couldn't see her entire body then it looked as if she got pushed.

  12. QUOTE(im_tj_m @ Jan 30 2007 - 10:24 PM) 826352474

Both siegel girls and siegel guys LIIIVE off of the push off. Somehow always get away with it!

Maybe because it's not always a push off. You ever think of that? I'm sure you see it the few times it happens but if they do it all the time i'm sure the ref would see it once every 100 times.

  13. QUOTE(SopH1025 @ Jan 30 2007 - 10:13 PM) 826352447

i cant believe how that game ended...............worse officiated game ever for a second half / fourth quarter that ive seen..............im sure siegel will take the W but they shouldnt feel good about it at all..........TD got 4 fouls in 5.5 min..............insane after she fouled oakland couldnt move the ball anymore then kierra (who played a GREAT game) missed a few free throws and kinsey missed one and then kierra fouled out with a weak foul then carrie parrot was left WIDE open for the game winner on the inbounds............oakland had to stop playing D for the last 5 min because four of their starters had 4 fouls (davis,mccleary,kinsey,king)......................anyway good game siegel and tough lost for the pats

    dont plan on getting it

Let's see all of kierra's fouls were hard fouls except that last one. I'll give you that. It was pretty weak. But you can't discredit Siegel because "oakland had to stop playing defense." Just because you are in foul trouble doesn't mean you have to stop playing defense you just have to start playing smart defense. I thought it was great how Carrie slipped by and got wide open under the goal for the win. Great game Stars!!! Keep it going!!

  14. there's rumor that hannah martin has committed to tennessee

but i'm trying confirm it and i think she the 1st 08 girl to commit

It's Lara Langworthy but Hannah is looking at it hard also. I think she will get on like Molly Delk is going to do. Now she might have made a verbal agreement this past weekend but other than that she hasn't committed yet. I know for a fact that Lara has.

  15. I think the DNJ is one of the worst newspapers in the country they rarely have anything to talk about and they only cover who is on top. it's only 4 high schools in Murfreesboro how hard is it to cover all 4. I remember last year when they had the big hugh article on the Siegel coach(dont remember what sport) who gave birth at home, who really cared about that in the sports section

That would be Kathy Palk-Slaughter, the volleyball coach. Possibly because it was volleyball season and her team was doing fantastic along with her coaching all the time. I guess they felt the need to show that she was still able to deliver a child and coach a tremendous volleyball team to the state tournament. I think it would have to do with sports just a little bit. :thumb:

  16. That is totally ok. It will be an adjustment I am sure but CHS is so used to adversity that I am sure they will back build and adjust. Heck look at RHS for example not necessarily a star studded squad but they worked fluidly together by the end of season in order to beat everyone. I just expect that out of CHS. I definitely see the WCS war being a good one. All the teams are left with exceptionally strong rosters. I am sure all will do well.

You know, you're right. Working fluidly together as a team is most of the times better than having a few stars on your team. I'm sure the WCS war will definetly be action packed and can't wait to hear about that.

  17. That is fine sell CHS short. No big. I believe all the WCS teams have a shot regardless of who they graduate but obviously you dont share that belief.

I think CHS will still be good but losing fisher, trocino, and whoever else will hamper their postseason success. I think with them losing to Ravenwood (i think) before state with their playmakers this year then they might not be able to make it to state without them. Just my opinion.

  18. QUOTE(ibreakthelaw19 @ Jan 23 2007 - 06:18 PM) 826342874

well seigelplayer or should i say brittany winn....i dont even think you made all state ....and Kacie has never used racial or vulgar words on the field at all....you might wanna recheck your story...and the Pk she missed wouldve tied the PKs and sent it into sudden death PKs...

Haha what you guessing good players on the team now? Um good try but no. If you know winn then you would know she is a tremendous person who wouldn't ever talk about a player/person no matter what. Unlike me or you I suppose. In fact, she has never been on coacht so try again.

Ha your just a comedian. Pretty sure I was standing by you when you were cussing up a storm out there when you were mad about who knows what. Oh, I remember, it was you not getting a foul when you fell over yourself. Being a drama queen with the ref and yelling at him.

Ok, it would have tied the PKs. I'll give you that one. But either way it turns, you sprinting a mile to the ball and missing still cost you the game. No matter which way you want to put it. Whatever makes you feel better.

No, she didn't get all-state, because like you, she was hurt consistently throughout the season which hampered her performance. Now, she still might not have made it but I still don't think you should have made the team. You need a person who is a leader that everyone respects. I don't think you got that when players were mumbling under their breath about you. Hope you do better in Florida.

  19. QUOTE(mjuhb @ Jan 23 2007 - 01:51 PM) 826342575

kacie scored the winner vs brentwood that knocked them out

even if she missed games she was there for her team when it counted

I'm not saying she wasn't there when it counted. But until you are on the field playing alongside her and listening to the comments she makes you won't understand. Obviously trash talking is a part of soccer but racial and vulgar remarks aren't. I don't think I've heard someone ever use that much vulgar language on a field.

If I recall she missed the winner versus siegel that knocked franklin out.

  20. QUOTE(ibreakthelaw19 @ Jan 22 2007 - 04:55 PM) 826341414

the number of goals a player scores has nothing to do with whether they are good or not; correct Katie Horner was hurt for most of the season, which is the reason she didn't score more goals, however she was a great impact when she was on the field

Good post Kacie, way to play yourself up

  21. QUOTE(cougette @ Jan 16 2007 - 10:32 AM) 826333663

How could they leave Anna Fisher off this list? She is on every list from here to Memphis but some how she gets left of this one? CHS some how does not have any representation on this list! I know I am partail but I really dont see how it is a complete representation of the best in our state by blocking out players like Anna, Jayme Trocino, and Tessa Williams. JMHO. All 3 have managed to be recognized by the other organizations how is this one turning a blind eye?!

Trocino I think should deserve recognition among the best. Now, by saying this im probably going to make you extremely angry but I do not think that Anna should be listed as the top five. Yes, she is an excellent player but she sometimes is hyped up because of the fact that she scores goals. The top five listed are the top five in the state with the exception of Becca Smith. She only got listed because of her 50 someodd goals because of the low talent in our district. I believe there are others better than her but I don't think Anna would take that position.
