QUOTE(wiredtowin @ Apr 30 2007 - 10:25 PM) 826448719[/snapback]Can someone explain McMinn County being ranked #10? They were soundly beaten by Bearden, 6-0 and Maryville, 6-0 and have no "signature" wins. Undefeated in district but competition within district is marginal at best. Can I hear some amens from the South-Doyle folks? The Kees dropped to Bearden by the same score and BEAT Maryville and are unranked. Help me out here, Din and other folks in the know.
They have three ties (Baylor, Farragut, and Knox Catholic)

this is second time that McMinn won the game by giving up the posession and play defense(against baylor and farragut). Is this their style they will play for rest of the season or they just got lucky twice?
-
How come McMinn Co. is ranked 6th in AAA? Are they that good?
-
I think TNFC do not have chance in u17. They came 2nd last year becuase they had Daniel Kelly. I also heard 2 or 3 other players left TNFC. Impact will win. They won last year and they got 2 good players( I think one of them is ben bacstrom) from knoxville select. In u15, Liverpool will win easily. They won state last year and they got 4 players from Impact who came 2nd in state.

Farragut won 2-0. With just a few minutes left in the Bearden game, Bearden was leading 2-0.
Any details?

Hey mjuhb, I have been reading these messages for month's...this is my first reply. I have watched a lot of soccer this year and seen many teams. Something that I have always looked at is the quality of opponent's. I judge the strength of someone's schedule (by the end of the season) by how many teams they have played that have won 10 games. That is usually half of the total- so in approx 20 games, give or take, 10 wins is a good season. The totals for the remaining teams in AAA is as follows. Brentwood has played 7 teams with 10 wins or more, Houston-7, Hendersonville 8, Ridgeway 7, Riverdale 3, Ooltewah 5(and only beat 1 team out of those), Farragut 11, Bearden 13. That says a lot about Farragut and Bearden- they play the toughest teams possible. That's why they are in the finals so often. For that reason, I believe Farragut beats Riverdale- they, Riverdale, have not played at the level Farragut is used to playing all the time. Bearden can beat Brentwood, it will simply be a matter of which Bearden team is at the field- they have played well recently and appear to be peaking at the right time. It is tough to generate offense against their defense. Houston beats Hendersonville in maybe the closest game of the quarterfinals, and Ridgeway beats Ooltewah- who I think got lucky to beat a very good McMinn Co. team.
I do not think Ooltewah was lucky to beat McMinn. McMinn had chance to beat Ooltewah but either way could happen. I think Ooltewah will beat Ridgeway. Riverdale was lucky to play McMinn when their starting goal keeper was suspended.

ambiguousrock Farragut wins 2-1.
BlackmanSoccerDad Riverdale 2 - Farragut - 1
Tin-Man 2-1 for Farragut in overtime
soccer4life Farragut will give them more than they can handle and take the win by 2-3 goals
Wavecup Farragut wins 2-0.
Ok, now how many of you have actually seen both teams play, more specifically, play RECENTLY?
I have played Riverdale and I know some of Farragut players. Farragut has much better forwards and midfielders. Riverdale might have better defense but not by much.
-
Just curious have you seen Riverdale play? Just wondering if you or anyone would give some info about them, like how they play and stuff
Their strikers were good but I think Nic and Farragut defenders can handle them. They did not have any threat in the midfield. All they did was long balls. I thought best player they have is their goalie. He is tall and quick.
Farragut wins 2-0.

They tried the same thing against Ooltewah as well. Twice in a row, maybe they'll learn. Trying to stick an additional attacker probably would have worked better by taking a defender out and putting a striker in the midfield. It almost cost them at the beginning, a shot came to the keeper and he mishandled the shot and almost went in. Before they did that they were on the move and the kid that scored the one goal, I believe is the one they put at goalie. Not sure of the logic either.
I think McMinn did best they could do without their starting goal keeper.

from what i saw during half time i think nic did something to his foot or ankle. not sure though. he was limping. i dunno who that ref was. there was some weird calls though by him.
How bad is Nic's injury?

Any details? Who scored?

their junior class is excellent...they have been waiting for their time....from the falcons to the fury to the impact...now farragut. mr swift knows the road.
I agree. They have great juniors especially ones play for Diadora Impact.

First scrimmage is Thursday 23 at 5 at the nest VS Cleveland
Does anybody know the result of this scrimage?
-
So, how good is Ooltewah gonna be this year compared to other teams in their district and region? (Soddy-Daisy, Red Bank, Mcminn, and Cleveland etc.)
-
I agree with YellowCardFever except you ranked mcminn and soddy-daisy top 11. Both teams were great last year but they both lost bunch starters, especially soddy. I heard their all starters were seniors last year.
-
Why everybody thinks that McMinn will be good this year? I heard they lost six starters, including all-american forward.

Because I have never seen either teams play, I dont know anything for sure but I think Karns new coach has done tremendous job.
Another upset! Cleveland over McMinn Co. 2-1.
