I don't post much, but this time I have to. First of all I want to say "hats off" to both teams for getting this far. I've heard great things about SPitt. That was after they allowed the clock to run down at halftime with 45 seconds left (Hampton's ball) and after they allowed a (what should have been... whistle broken) dead ball to be picked up and run into the end zone for a td. IF not for their help you would not have been close. Anyway, way to go landers!!!!! That cosby hospitality is something else???!!!!

I say it is pay back this year with Coalfield coming out on top big this year! 21 - 0. For Townsend if he does play will not be 100%. This hurts Hampton, just like when Tennessee tryed to play Ainge.

Please do not compare Adam to Ainge. Adam has more heart & drive in his pinkie toe than Ainge in his entire body.

pujo,you know what cloudland fans that were on the sidelines were a select few that resented your brother making the move the hampton i dont think it had anything to do with the team, i think they were just taunting your brother which you are right it was just plain wrong I saw alot of cloudland fans including myself and also the cloudland coaches sitting on the hampton side cheering for the bulldogs.just so you know not all cloudland fans should be singled out.I bet you if you ask a few of those now they probably regret it i know alot of people wishes lunceford was back at cloudland.

You are right about that.... I saw a lot of coaches and fans from Cloudland on the Hampton side, cheering us along. I also saw the rudeness of some the Cloudland fans on the Trousdale side of the field. Most of these were kids and Cloudland players, which I understand came from a bitter loss to us on their home turf senior night and of course the coach issue. I know a lot of those kids and have shared my opinion freely of their behavior that night. I do feel that most of them regret that night as well.

Anyway good luck Thursday night.......I hope both teams stay healthy.

Adam keep your head up... You have not let anyone down. In fact you have inspired everyone on the team to do their very best..... You helped them get where they are today. With the detemination and sheer guts you've shown in the past I have no doubt that will fully recover and we will see you play again, hopefully in play-offs, if not in college. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just wanted to say how sorry I am to Adam & his family. We will all be praying for a speedy recovery. It is an absolute heartbreaker. But as someone else mentioned, this kid is tough as they come. I don't see him being down for long. Either way it has been a pleasure to watch him over the years.

I also want to say... how about them dogs????. The team stepped up and showed everyone that they are a team. We are all so proud of you..

o...I don't see your team going 7-0 and another we play the same teams so once again tell who has better coahes

 

So you played Johnson County ... a 4A school, which is currently 2nd in their division?? Did you also play Unicoi(another 4A school)???

 

I'm not overlooking Cosby, I think it'll be a great game.

One more day until game day and I don't know about you all.....but I am definitely counting down! Can't wait....this is going to be an exciting game!

Let's consider a few things here. Why do you think that JC always wants to play Hampton the first game of the season? Any idea? Could it be that the "Dogs are NEVER prepared or in shape. JC has better athletes, from top to bottom, they are certainly better conditioned, and you can bet that they will be prepared for Friday night. Can Hampton win? Sure, but I wouldn't be shocked if JC won either. A toss up.

So you feel that JC has a better shot of winning & always want to play when they think the dogs are not prepared??? If they are in such great shape why do they need this advantage

I was just saying that they should have had it at Hampton like they did a couple of years ago. I am sure that Danny McClain would have been glad to help.

I agree with you Vader. McClain has always been helpful to Carter County teams.

I was at the Cloudland tame you were referring to. There was plenty of room.

It's funny how this worked out, they drop to 1A and get new players and coaches in football to dominate and they did for the most part and they were projected to dominate in Basketball but that really didn't work out and they get to move back up to 2A after next year because of enrollment - Just seems kinda funny to alot of people how they could drop and then have to move right back up after the 2 year period - just an observation. Not jealous, just tired of hearing how GREAT they were supposed to be since us in 1A are so pitiful.

New players? New Coaches? How about new player & new assistant coach.

It may seem funny, to you how they drop down & move up.... but you must take into consideration how their students come from 3 different elementaries & 2 junior high school systems, or should, but maybe not. They may choose to go elsewhere. To make things even more confusing there is an area that can choose between Hampton or Cloudland. Therefore fluctuation is expected....... exact projections impossible. But if you can figure it out let us know.
