  1. Amazing to see a team that has their key starter and several others suffering from food poisoning the night before, and still “gut” out a win.  Says a lot about the character of these young ladies.

Been a long time since I could say this…….Them Trojans got “MOXY”

    noun
    INFORMALNORTH AMERICAN
    noun: moxy
force of character, determination, or nerve.
when you've got moxie, you need the clothes to match"

Funny? Westview will hang 60 on Dresden next year! And probably the next 5 years. I have no clue what the SEC or Canton has to do with West Tenn football but I guarantee you this, the Region will go thru Martin for the next few years and you can take that to the bank!

I guess TDOT must have built a bypass around  Highway 51 big 3 straight to Martin.   I wonder if Dyersburg, Covington and Ripley got the memo?

I know of no school function or facility that a civilian is allowed to conceal carry in. That day came a long time ago. I've had a permit for over 20 years in 3 different states. Never carried to a high school basketball game.

It is a felony to be in possession of a weapon while attending a school function.

There is no “conceal” carry in Tennessee nor a requirement for a handgun permit.  As long as you can legally own a handgun, then you can carry how you want where you want with exception to the places prohibited by state or federal law.

Good luck to the Trojans. Here are two computer predictions:

    Massey

    E. Nashville 30

    Dyersburg 20

    Cal-Preps

    Dyersburg 22

    E. Nashville 21

So, y’all do have a chance. From the Cal-Preps score, they must have seen that two-point conversion y’all ran to beat my Chargers. It looked pretty hard to stop.

Massey rating will not be published until tomorrow.  You’re looking at data based on 12 games  vs 13 games.

I'm going to say that Covington will get this win! The Trojans will see a different team, most focused and determined!! I'll even stick my neck out and say that the Chargers will win by at least 10.

    Go Chargers!

Covington will be a 10 point favor with the bookies.

Dyersburg’s offense played the worst game of the season against Westview last night, complete 180 degree direction of how they executed the previous week.  Dyersburg’s defense played well, but had lapses, not seen in the previous meeting with Westview.

If Dyersburg gets it together this week and be focused, then Trojans win by 14.

Dyersburg wins this game, nothing Westview can do with that defense! And yes, the Trojans lost their QB, but it will not be a factor in this game! :thumb:

The loss of the QB affects several positions on both sides of the ball, especially on defense.  Domino effect!

Congrats on winning your 100th straight 3A Gold Ball

Every one else might as well forfeit cuz 3A is the Weakest in the State and Alcoa has it in the Bag again

Next Classification Cycle dont be surprised if 3A Shrinks more or Alcoa is only team in 3A

If you wanna dethrone Alcoa you gotta get you a Connor Stalions

Congradulations to the 2023-2024 TSSAA Class 3A Football State Champion Alcoa Tornadoes

What facts do you have to support your claim that 3A is the weakest in the state?

Why would Alcoa want to play up?  Just because they have a great program?

Been following high school football and basketball since the middle 1970s.  Programs like Shelbyville raised the bar for girls basketball and programs like Alcoa raise the bar for football.

It seems like the same gripes that went around 30 years ago with Shelbyville are now being said about Alcoa.

Just so everyone knows BPM will be taking the snaps for Dburg the rest of the season. I will be running the wildcat out of our elephant package every play from now on. The defense will know what’s coming but won’t be able to stop it. We will run the clock on our opponents just like I beat down the buffet at China Star last week….

You were the one they were talking about!

JMo’s role on defense cannot be understated. He was an absolute eraser his entire career in black and gold. I LOVED the way he always competed and gave his all! We’re missing the other safety too. That’s our weakest spots now. If anyone wants to beat Dyersburg, they’ll have to throw it. Not gonna be able to run on our front seven.

I agree with you MG, BUT I think losing this kid will hurt on defense just as much if not more than on offense. He is a heck of a safety and kind of anchored the back end of the Trojan defense. The weakness of the team, IMO, is the pass defense, so with him out it is going to be even more important to get a consistent pass rush up front.

I also think that the loss was probably a bigger impact on the safety position.  I think you will see the coach’s retool a few defensive positions, and even maybe on offense.

Memphis East game will give us a little clearer picture of what’s to come.

  11. Famous Quote Made By Tennessee Legend and Former Dyersburg Trojan

It’s not about how many points you score in the game. 20 years from now, nobody will remember and no body will care.

It is all about defense:  30 years from now, the players and their parents will remember how vicious that Trojan defense was.

So, boys, I tell you what General  Neyland told us boys, hit them so *da** hard that you make their mommies cry and their daddies hang their head in shame.

I watched it on youtube, and if it happened right before half, it was in the middle of the field and it looked like he was cutting in to make a move on the over pursuit. To say he was being tackled at the end of half running out of bounds, seems like your almost accusing it of being a dirty play, which it wasn't even close to being. The QB is a competitor and was trying to get another one in before half. Dyersburg is for real.

You are right….the tackle had nothing to do with the injury.  He planted his foot to avoid the tackle, which is where he tore it.

I just hope Dyersburg fans don’t mull around thinking all is over and the negative emotions bleed over to the players.   Dyersburg bread and butter is not their offense, it is their defense.  And as the old saying goes, offense draws crowds, but defense wins championships.

The community needs to let these kids know this season is not over and they need to let their opponents know just where the bread is buttered, every inch, every yard, every play.

    Old skool baby, old skool…..

  13. Dyersburg has injuries that will impact offensive capability.  The big question entering playoffs is will they be able to stay focused and not dwell on the loss of their senior QB in week 10.  Great kid, very good QB, but most importantly, a key leader.

On paper,  Dyersburg is more than good enough to make the semis.
