  1. Farview will be lucky just to score 10 and they probably wont be able to do that until the pups come in to close out the game.

Always love when a camper pops in at playoff time to throw two cents of nonsense and walk away. I did vote for Milan on this game but to say Fairview can't even score ten points until the pups are in is just insulting mouth running.

  2. Two Great games to be at two weeks in a row. Time to look forward to the next game

Camden playing at Huntington> > who takes this one

    /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Gotta be at this one

  3. One of the things I never see get taken into account when you total someone's stats are game time. When you have a good team that has alot of run away games your starters dont get nearly as much playing time. except for the close games. It is a great thing to be able to have a team strong enough to let your second and even third strings be able to get as much if not more playing time sometimes than your starters. It also enables your team to grow much faster and you can build huge momentum with your young guys already having so much experience, but it also does not allow those standout starter guys to be able to build up those huge numbers that some guys who play alot more game time are able to brag so much about.

I have seen teams who lose more games than win with one or two great defensive guys having a junk load of tackles but then you look and see they have played so much defensive game time they just cant help but have huge numbers.

I have also seen games where one guy who may not be quite as popular not get credited with a tackle when he initially stands the guy up and someone else clobbers him. .. sometimes not even get mentioned by the announcers.

  4. Wow what has happened to Portland over the years? They look like they have fallen as has Waverly.. I remember when I went to Waverly, Portland beat us to head on down the road in the State Playoffs back in 94 and 95 they both had teams to watch and we both went pretty far in. and now they are both running teams that lose nearly every game. Everyone wants to cry injuries and etc but the truth is the other teams have injuries as well.

  5. I think that alot of people will notice that most trash talk is coming from the guys who are new accounts and low post numbers.. Most of the real Camden fans and real Milan fans know that it was just a good game and like someone else said .. it came down to the team with the least number of mistakes.. I didnt get to be there but I am sure it was one (*^^& of a game /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" wish I could have been there though..

  6. I know this is going to be one of the best games to be at this year. You know you wanna go to a game bad when you are trying to get out of work early enough to make this drive

    Franklin Tn to Milan Tn

    Drive: 131 mi – about 2 hours 28 mins

One way ! Might have to get a hotel for this one.

I hope I will be able to make but if not good luck to both teams, I hope both make it out injury free, we still have a long seaon ahead and this "hard hitting" game should not be the reason anyone has to miss a game.

This is a game alot of people have waited a long time for.

  7. I think you will see more than just the town coming out for this one. I think their are alot of people who were not ready for their season to be over and wanting to see another game, especially wanting to see MILAN win over GP. I may try to see if I can make it all the way from Franklin myself but who knows.

Mistakes are the one thing that has determined the win in each of these last two weeks worth of games. Camden vs CPA was a field full of mistakes "missed oppurtunities" They were really not playing anywhere close to the same defense that has been on the field all year. Missed tackles everywhere Shoestring grabs I hate to say but they did not play anywhere near the level they did during the season.

Don't get me wrong CPA won but mistakes are what costs a game and the team with the most mistakes loses Camden made alot of mistakes and turn overs-CPA won.. CPA made alot of mistakes and turnovers-Goodpasture won. Milan will not be making mistakes like that. Everyone knows Milan is also 13-0 just because TSSAA took away those wins does not mean those boys did not earn them to start with I gaurantee if Goodpasture goes in there thinking the are playing a 8-5 team that made it in they will be corrected very quickly.

I am rooting for MILAN no mistakes guys. take it to the boro.

  8. Halftime: GP-20; CPA-0

Just as everone said who knew these teams, CPA had to fly almost flawless to win, and it isn't happening.

In the first half, CPA had 2 INT's-one on a tipped ball, 4 big penalties,a TD called back on an illegal fromation and 2 fumbles. They have been in GP's end of the field 4 times and haven't score. Too many mistakes, but credit GP for causing some of them.

GP's running game was dominant the opening possesion, but not the rest of the half. THey score the 2nd TD on a long run, and the 3rd on a 40 yard bomb with 20 seconds to go in the quarter.

CPA has moved the ball and are completing passes, but drives all get stopped on mistakes.

only 20 to nothing well they could make it back after coach gets done ripping some butts they may come out playing a whole new ball game.

  9.

As far as the public/private thing. Public schools have many more D1 scholarships, particularly in football. There are advantages that private schools have over smaller public schools, but I think that fades once you get into 4A and 5A ball because of numbers. JMO

Ok yes they have more in terms of shear volume but in terms of percentage? Only because there are so many more. If you had to rely on private only you would be done.

How many young men play public football? what percentage of them make D1 or even 2 scholarships??

Now how many play private? What percentage of them get scholarships to D1 colleges?

  10. I think it's important to define the word "recruit". You can say all you want "We want you at our school", but there is a difference between that, and saying "We will pay your tuition for you if you'll come attend our school and play ball". That's the difference between DII and DI, I believe? It seems to me that all this "recruiting" that's going on in DI private schools doesn't really do them much good if there's no backing it up with scholarship. Public schools can do that. They can go to people in Florida if they want and say "We want you to move to our district so you can play ball for us" Same way DI private schools can go to the same people in Florida and say "We want you come to our city and attend our school and play ball". SO WHAT!?!? If neither can back it up with monetary support, it's as fair for one as it is for the other.

Monetary? Yeah they do just that also in the form of reduced tuition.

  11. Ok well in order to figure out why a public school that is zoned does not want to play against a private you have to take a look at some of the reasons why an athlete or parent would want to be at that private school.

    1) the percentage of athletes that get scholarship offers from colleges vs the percentage of public school athletes.

2)Face it if you play public ball the chances of being seen as a good player are slim, you have to be an outstanding player vs the chances of being seen at a private school that is a known producer of talent. The chance is so much higher even if you are not the one originally being scouted you have a chance of being seen.

    3) Private schools start early in the recruiting stages that is why alot of these kids get to say well we have played together since 5th or 6th grade.. it is because alot of them have. The Privates begin the process as low as 5th grade and if your child is good they make offers to bring them to their school at xxx price instead of full tuition.

    4) Some "not all" parents who have the money to put their child in a private school also have the money to provide things like private trainers home work out equipment, Heck I even knew a guy who's parent put uprights in their back yard and had hash mark and yard lines so that he could practice field goals all the time. How many public school parents have the money for that?

There are so many more things that Privates have over Public School oppurtunities.

If I have the money will my child go to a private school ?? You bet but don't let me be fooled into saying that it is for a better education or to get them away from some of the things happening at a public school>> no way there is just as much if not more drugs in a private school gang activity is there also there are plenty of fights .. marginally safer, slightly better academics. So why would I want my child there? ONE thing >College. I want my daughters to go to a school where regardless of what sport they play the team is a winning powerhouse and she will have a chance to get a scholarship offer.

Could she get it at a public school?? Yeah maybe but the chances are so much better at private school.

And any time you have so many parents who want their children to go to that kind of a school, well you end up with a school with so many gifted athletes that they continue to have a powerhouse team. And one begats the other.

They should only compete against each other and teams that want to play them, not teams forced to play them, just like when JV scrimmages a JR high team why ?? So the coach can see where his boys are the weakest and strongest and work on it. If I were a coach I would want my team to play stronger teams but at the cost of going to a state playoff ?? Hmm not so sure anymore. If SOS counted and I could stand a loss against a team like Goodpasture or Brentwood Academy then I by all means I want to see how we fair against them let our boys hang it all out for the pure competition of it. But not if it keeps my boys from going to state.

Sorry for the long winded post I could go on But I will stop.

  12. "Comentator #1" #70 Kyle Combs takes him down behind the line.

"Comentator #2" Hey do you have the sack stats on Camden's #1 Defense??

"Comentator #1" Yeah here they are take a peek at these.

"Comentator #2" Wow that is impressive.

"Comentator #1" Yeah especially when you consider how few games they actually played past the middle of the second quarter in.

"Comentator #2" OH look and he gets run down again this time it's #40 Chase Horton on the tackle in the backfield.

"Comentator #1" Yeah he is goin gto have to get rid of that ball, he just does not have the time he is used to back there tonight.

  13. camden by 20

cpa falls apart under camden's defense

As far as CPA has made it I doubt they fall apart I will be there this friday night and can not wait to see the game but I have no illusions that CPA is just gonna roll over and give it to us. This will be one the biggest challenges that Camden has faced all year. They have a passing game and Camden is going to have to get to work on defending that if they can control that passing game it may help keep that score down on that side.

We "Camden" have a great D for the running game but we need to work on the passing game our O is great on the run and pulling out some air now then, we are going to have to mix it up a little more to keep them on their toes. We have pretty good passing game when we want to use it.

  14. Thanks! Just curious why you are going insane? Or do you know?

When I was in the NAVY I was on an aircraft carrier and we would out to sea for a long time I had a yahoo account that I used GoingInsane as my screen name and I have used it ever since then. about 10 years now

Camden secondary is not that great but i KNOW they will work harder than ever. They will have a big night with alot of interceptions. They will make alot of adjustments in practice this week.

I really meant that in a sarcastic way.. like yeah throw the ball alot gives us more chances to intercept or keep the yardage down. :thumb:

  15. I think you should fire the coach!! My son is not getting enough playing time and these losses would be wins if he played.

OK just kidding but seriously I am sure some coaches get so sick of listening to parents complain. Now if they do review the coach and find that he really does not have the passion I could see it but just the fact that it has been said will raise alot of eyebrows even if the coach is doing all he and the other coaches can think of to turn it around.
