  1. Couple of corrections.... Lipscomb was NAIA D-1 in '96 .... Not NCAA D-1. Tennessee Wesleyan is NAIA D-2, not NCAA D-3. That was a great couple of years for Kings though....
  2. Where did Hollis Hampton go to college? Meco was the player of the year in the SOCON when he was a Senior..... how is he so low?

    Officials

Referees are in charge of the entire arena when the game is being played. They are allowed to throw coaches, players, cheerleaders, and fans out of the game. They are allowed to talk to coaches, players, cheerleaders, and fans. They can wink, talk smack, and help players off the floor when they fall down. In most cases, refs are great guys who are unbiased. That is why you never see any of the "talking to fans" going on. Most officials want to avoid conflict at all costs, but they are not going to back down from conflict if someone crosses the line. Are they allowed to talk to anyone they want? Absolutely. There is no rule against it.
  5. Jeremy Shannon may have the ability to play at the college level....(he is talented) ...but, college coaches already know the wrap on him.... He is not a team player. They are not going to recruit someone who walks off the floor and asks the bookkeeper how many points he has in the game (happened at Oneida). They are not going to recruit someone who doesnt have the discipline to not get "T's" in a game (he already has at least one). They are not going to recruit someone who is supposed to be the leader of a team with his teammates getting "T's" in a game. You cant impress college coaches by being selfish and undisciplined. And you cant impress college coaches by getting on coacht and talking junk. And then when you talk junk you misspell words?? You think college coaches dont read this?? I know for a FACT that they do. Were not talking about D-1 either. There hasnt been a D-1 player in that district since Rodney West and Troy Yaden. And to get into d-3 schools you have to have a 24 or 25 on your ACT. People who score 25's on their ACT dont misspell words when they are talking smack. There is more to prepping yourself for college than just putting up points....and speaking of points.... You have to put up at least 30 a night to even get coaches to come to Morgan County. And putting up 30 a night against single A competition still might not be enough to get it done. It not like Wartburg is playing Memphis East and Science Hill every night..... they are playing Sunbright and Oakdale. Do you really think if you cant get 30 a night in this district, that you can play at the college level?? Nope. Not trying to hate on Jeremy... trying to help him. I wish him the best. The kid has talent.... probably enough to walk on somewhere at a juco or D-3. Playing in college is not like playing AAU or Single A basketball. It is playing against the best basketball players in America. 99.9% of high school basketball players never play in college.... lets hope he can become one of the few players to ever play in college out of morgan county and not ruin it by his actions on and off the court.
  6. Ok...cool...I didnt know we had to go through the whole alphabet to figure out whether or not he was checking up on his scoring. Someone I know was close to the scorers table when it happened.... said he had never seen anything so selfish. And your arguements make no sense.... A. Your assistant coach keeps up with your fouls and lets you know when you are in foul trouble. B. If an opponent is hurting you in scoring, its your coaches job to figure it out. Or it could be your job... but you shouldnt have to look at the books to know that you are getting beat by an "opponent". Thats common sense. C. If you or a teammate is in foul trouble, its your assistant coaches job to take care of that. See the letter "A". D.Checking on the ball possession?? Look at the possession arrow idiot. E. Who care who the refs are? You already know who they are. They have been doing your games since jr. high. F. Free throw accuracy doesnt matter when your up 20. G. Free throw accuracy doesnt matter when your up 20. H. Three pointers by opponent? Why? Does it really matter when you are winning by that much? You gotta be kidding..... J. If he doesnt know his opponents first and last names by now... that is a scouting report mistake. Again, ... a coaches mistake. Which takes me to the letter "I".... Why would a player ever check his point total during the game? Parents keep the point total on their notepads during the game....Dont worry... players can find out how many points they score after they come out of the locker room.
  7. I heard that during the game, Shannon went and looked at the book to see how many points he had..... Is that true???
