  1. Hahaha you're cracking me up mane... You better tell your boys at Alcoa its a new year and new teams coming for them this year... No more easy victories...

    Let's GO AE!

Do you all really think you have a chance? hahaha thats pretty funny. You all are starting to sound like Goodpasture. hahaha

  2. You've got your opinion and I've got mine, but nobody is going to "beat the daylight" or "wipe the field" with Austin-East. They can play with all of their 2009 opponents. I'd be willing to bet that most of the Alcoa faithful doesn't expect to "wipe the field" with Austin-East. I know Fulton doesn't expect to "beat the daylight" out of Austin-East; they are always in for a fight, and vise versa. I encourage you to watch an Austin-East football game live, and see if you have the same opinion. You should check us out Saturday after the CAK/Grace game. If you come early, you can check out Fulton too.

Nope most of the Alcoa faithful expect to beat A-E by atleast 30. That should be a great game for A-E if they can keep it with in 30.

  3. BC....you got me all wrong, I am from Trenton, Peabody man all the way. I have NO love for Milan at all.

But, Alcoa will be seeing them this year. And it will be a game, no blow out here.

And to answer your question, yes we did kick that Bulldogs butt! It felt great! But that was last year.

Haha thats what they all say. Alcoa will beat any team they face in 2A by 30. No one in 2A has the talent, depth, or speed to match up with them.

When will someone in 2A give Alcoa a game?

  4. I don't know the stats from the 80's...I was going on what was posted on here, since 1992, I believe.

Alcoa was mentioned because someone said they weren't sure if WB was the second best team in the county.

Becaue they are not the second best team in the county. haha they're in the coward bottom two.

  5. Dca looked awful last spring also, they did look and play young but they have the best Coaching staff in the STATE and should be in position to make yet another playoff appearance, o and dont forget there new quarterback Braden Anderson AKA MR FRIDAY NIGHT

Nope wrong Alcoa has the best coaching staff in the state in 2a and the second best in all of the state behind Maryville of course. Your just wrong on this one.

  6. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Sorry I am late....did I miss anything?

Yea some dude on here is trying to say that WB has a reason for droping Alcoa. When we all know their just a bunch of cowards.

  7. Actually, I didn't forget the win in '04, I included that in the stats. Do they teach anyone to read at Alcoa? It's not something they should assume you know going into high school...

Now that I think about it, with your stupid comments twisting my third place statements...maybe you aren't even IN high school yet. I'll even give Alcoa the wins in '05 and '06, but when you say Alcoa would have won last year, it's time to pass the peace pipe to someone else.

Haha COWARDS are so cocky when they don't actually have to play the game. It is time for you all to relize you just need to leave the football for alcoa and maryville and stick to Farming. Cause we know all of you all are FFA for life.

  8. In the three most recent games, WB leads the series. So, why don't you get out of the past and face that recently, and overall, WB is your daddy.

We may not have any rings yet...but at least we're not the third best team in the county /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

haha thats funny. You forget we won in 00 and 04 and we get the wins in 05, 06 , and 07 because WB cowards gave those games up. Haha and why are you putting Heritage in third place above you all. I do not even think they are better than you. You should have more positive thinking about your self.

  9. It doesn't matter to me if any other William Blount fans are willing to say it or not, because I will. They just don't want to get everyone's panties in a wad, a problem I've never had. You'll be better than William Blount when you start leading the all-time series with us...until then be content with being ahead of Heritage...that's one 5A team you've got a leg up on!

When your a Coward you lose the right to say your one of the best in th county. In this century we have been the overall second best team. Your just a bunch of cowards face it.

  10. So is being the third best team /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

And your point is? Yea, we know WB is the third best team in the county. No one is saying Heritage is better than you all.

  11. Actually, since William Blount dropped this "best ever" 2A team, our record has improved each season. I don't know a person in the world (besides you) who would call a 9-3 season mediocre.

Yes, talent and coaching make a good team, but you've got to have more that one or two talented players who sign DI to have a good team. See that word I used there, TEAM. You've got to have a team of talented players, not a couple college recruits. A team of semi-talented players will beat a team with two stars and a below average supporting cast any day of the week.

The point about Heritage having more gold balls than us is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Go to the TSSAA's website and you'll se exactly what they've accomplished, NOTHING! That's like saying a basketball championship from Friendsville is William Blount's /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

In Blount County a 9-3 season is mediocre.

  12. In '06 you gave them a fine game...but we're talking about the most RECENT, therefore relevant season.

And you say that WB "droped" Alcoa because they don't want to get killed by a 2A school? Coming from a school who is LOSING the all-time series with William Blount, that's a pretty stupid comment.

well if we are talking about RECENT? Coming from a 5a school that was scared and drop us because they knew they were going to get beat by 30 points in 05 and 06. can you say COWARDS?

  13. William Blount dropped Alcoa from the schedule because there's nothing to be gained from beating up on a 2A team. Coach Meadows exit from Alcoa wasn't exactly a happy parting on either side, it shouldn't come as a shock that he dropped the series.

You know the answer to the second question. It's zero, you really showed those NE TN fans what's up.

haha you must have ment WB droped us because they do not want to get killed by a 2a school. Sorry, you are the cowards of the county.

  14. Let me guess, you're an AHS student, aren't you? Grammar was a giveaway.

I think we've already been through what William Blount has done head-to-head versus Alcoa, and we lead the all-time series. Maybe "your" not up there with William Blount. When you give Maryville a game, you can put yourself in the same class as them. It must be embarassing, being a state champion, but only the third best team in the county.

Consider a name change from "noquarter" to "noclue."

so i guess in 06 we did not give maryville a game did we?

  15. All I see in the first few points is excuses...so I won't even touch that.

5A is the best classification because the school's are the biggest in the state of Tennessee, so they have that many more players to choose from. That's not my opinion, that's fact. As for your knock against Region 2-5A, our fifth place team went 7-3, and didn't make the playoffs. How many other regions in the state can say they have a team going 7-3 and being left out of the playoffs? If that doesn't signify an extremely competitive region, I don't know what does. You're right, a good way to judge TALENT in this area is by major D1 signees, but TALENT doesn't make a good team. You're saying that because Loudon has one or two players sign with major colleges, that it makes them a better TEAM than 5A schools?

I'm sure Loudon, Austin East, and Powell would have made a real dent in those 5A standings /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

William Blount has one ok year and you all think that your up there with the Maryville's and Alcoa's. Your not. When you have a good team for more than 1 year out of every 10 years, then you can start talking a little bit, but come on you all have stunked it up like almost every other year.

  16. Alcoa has 1000 less students than WB and plays teams like 3A champion Fulton, 4A champion Maryville, DII power McCallie that oh, BTW beat 5A riverdale two games earlier, etc, etc............Plus, scrimmages Oak Ridge year in and year out............ AND won it's last 3 of 4 straight state championships with a combined score of 121 to 19..........But YOU think Alcoa iS "overrated"?! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

And if i remeber the 06 scrimmage with oak ridge and just the first string was like 35-0 and randell had 4 break away runs that he would have scored on that where stoped so he didnt get hurt.

  17. I try. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Actually, can anyone tell me the series record between Alcoa and William Blount? The more I have thought about it, the more I will say that Alcoa would have beaten the Govs in 05 and 06 and the 07 game would have been a pretty good one to watch, but I would have given WB the nod based on depth.

I dont know by that time in the season they had found out that Buck was ready to play as a freshman and that tyson was just as good as hodge. Also they had found out who was going to step up on the defense side of the ball. I would have to say that Rankin and the Overall speed of Alcoa wins the 07 game in the last minutes.

  18. Maybe the next lesson should be topic correlation, since when you called William Blount "overrated," I was proving how that "overrated" William Blount team is still better than Alcoa.

If you want to delve into the dictionary, Webster, the definition of overrated is as follows: "to rate or appraise too highly; overestimate:"

My point was that Alcoa was overrated, and this point is still valid. Maybe you should go back to school, because Alcoa has been rated too highly and overestimated by many posters in this thread (no, not you, but my original point wasn't directed towards you) when they say that they would beat 5A teams like Dobyns Bennett. I never once said that they didn't live up to their 2A hype, they can have all the gold balls they like, but some still will say that they can hang in 5A. This is not true, and that is my point. Try your reading comprehension advice out sometime, it may work out for you.

William Blount did NOT live up to the hype last year, and I'll be the first to admit this. Their lack of production in the post-season was very disappointing, but sometimes things just don't fall into place. This doesn't make them any less of a great team, and does not make them "overrated." They laid an egg, but they still had the most successful season in school history and were one point from winning the toughest 5A region in the state. Losing in the playoffs doesn't mean that we weren't a "legitimate state semi-finalist contender." It means that we had a bad game when we couldn't afford it.

I don't have anything against any of the posters in this thread, but it's tough to listen to people say that William Blount is the third best team in the county when I know that's not true. I'm just sticking up for my school, as anyone else would do for theirs.

Tell me how do you know WB was so much better than Alcoa last year?

  19. You're comparing apples and oranges when you talk about Alcoa and William Blount. Since you're so wise, you should understand the huge difference between 2A and 5A football. Alcoa does very well in their class, but don't fool yourself into believing that they're better than William Blount. No, William Blount has never advanced past the second round, but you switch the teams and put Alcoa in 5A and William Blount in 2A, you're looking at 4 straight titles for the Govs and none for Alcoa. Yes, William Blount is a 5A team, but if you're wanting to compare the two teams straight up, you've got to look at it like that. While we're on the topic of comparing things straight up, let's look at the recent history between the Govs and Tornadoes.

In 2004, when William Blount was MUCH worse than they have been the last three years, the score was 20-7. Alcoa won that game and went on to win a state title William Blount went 3-7 and allowed 49 or more points four times. William Blount was horrendous that season and couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper bag, and lost by only 13. When you take one of Alcoa's title teams and put them up against a vastly improved, 9-3 William Blount team, what do you expect to get?

In 2003, William Blount beat Alcoa 28-6, while finishing the season 5-6. In a season where we didn't even break .500, to beat Alcoa handily speaks volumes for what would happen to Alcoa if they played 5A teams. When one of William Blount's worse teams of the past seven years wins by 22 points, you can venture a guess to what one of William Blount's best teams would do.

In 2002, William Blount also went 5-6. Oh, and did I mention that they beat Alcoa 44-8? In the three most recent games of the series, William Blount has a 2-1 lead, with their two wins being by a large amount. Head-to-head is the best measuring stick, so there you have it. Since the series was ended, William Blount has improved greatly each year, competitive wise and record wise. There is no logical way that a Alcoa team that got pounded by Maryville this most recent season would have competed with a William Blount team that was every bit as good as Maryville.

Shall we continue this knowledge session?

Yes recent games between alcoa and WB are 2-1 but we all know in 06 and 07 Alcoa would have blown WB out of the water. and last year how can you prove you where better than Alcoa it was their real first game in Maryville with a bunch of new player and they stood with them pretty well for a half. At the end of the season i would have put my money on Man Cobb and Company.

  20. Where were the students from Alcoa at the Alcoa vs. Carter game Tuesday? Was there another school function that took the kids away from the game? Carter only had about ten there because of other school events and was just wondering if it was the same case at Alcoa.

The kids that took over dont care. All of the Marsh Pit has left for college ,so it will probly never be the same.

  21. Alcoa High School Fans and Players....I want your opinion on the way that 2A did the seeding this year. Do you feel that it fell out so you were playing a better team each week? Who in your opinion was the best 2A team you faced this year all the way to the Gold Ball?

Congrats on 4 in a row!

i would say cak might have been able to play us in the championship if they were in the other side.

  22. Whining about recruiting....NO. If they let you do it....DO IT. Whatever it takes to win. All I was stating was the unlevel playing field between the open zones and the privates as they relate to the public schools. The number of atheletes don't match up.

The eleven that you get to pick and bring in to put on the field is ALMOST AWLAYS supposed to be better than the eleven that other small level public schools put on the field because of their proximity to their hometown school. Your schools choose your players. Public schools play the kids that live near. If you people think it's a level playing field and you just work harder....then you're the idiot.

so your saying that if someone wanted to go to your school that they would say no?
