  1. Well, all you can say is congratulations to OS for making it to the state. I really am happy for the girls ---they all shouldl be proud of themselves because I am sure it has been a tough year and they need to savor the trip even though it did last as long as they wanted because there is never a guarantee to make it back. It is never a lock to go so focus on the positives not the last game.

As I said earlier watch out for madison--mainly because I am pretty sure the coach is the former bethel college girls coach--someone correct me if I am wrong----plus that school is pulling some fairly top-notch kids out of other schools in the jackson area.

Also anyone that thinks basketball is even all over the state is not paying attention to the results--just look at the past winners of the state tourney--in the past 15 years in boys and girls (all three classes) there were 90 state champions only about 15 are from the east side of cookeville and half of those are from around chattanooga--east tn be happy dominating football and just be honest basketball is king in west tn, nashville, and the upper cumberland

  2. Wow. this is better than jerry springer but the thread will get deleted because you are breaking the rules and I know this is site is not prejudice and bias toward crows and geicos!!!!LOL

Rule number 2: Be Nice: No posting of material that antagonizes, harasses, or creates hostility toward another user or group of users.

  3. Coacht I totally agree with you and honor and respect your rules and etiquette. As a matter of fact, I looked and did not see anything I posted that was against those rules. All I did was ask questions on a thread I did not start--if someone put something innappropriate on the thread that I did not see then I totally understand the removal of it,but if I did then please let me know what iti was.

  4. wow, who am I? A he or she --everyone else knows-- that is interesting. Well, geico I am glad i am suppose to know you so well. That is cool everyone has been fooled and I have hidden my identity so well I will have to change my name to the master of disguise. I have not seen any other posts about this, but based on your responses young and regal there must be something going on--hey geico since these two dont want to talk why dont you tell me what you have heard and see if these two will correct you or validate.

  5. I am sorry! I was just thinking that was a bad call and that is the first time I have ever seen anyone foul out on a bad call. What a shame. Anyway I guess since it was a pathetic call that meant she was allowed to stay in the game when she picked up her 5th foul. Is that the rule? Sounds good! Little hatred for that ref as well.

  6. I have been to Oliver Springs, Wartburg, Loudon, and many other places. However, I have never seen anything like Oneida tried to pull last night. A girl fouls out of the game, her coach knows, the scorekeeper knows, and the guy keeping the clock knew, and they did not tell the offical. That is simply amazing, I have heard before if you cant beat'em then why not cheat'em but come on Oneida you gotta have better character and class than that. This beats anything I have ever seen besides Kingston not giving the tournament MVP to the winning team a couple of years ago and gave it to the coaches son instead.

  7. Everyone has a different perspective but I think if a team puts their heart and soul inot playing some time off in march and april are nice. Now, I dont mean you dont pick up a basketball or get out of shape but most schools(because everyone thinks it is necessary) start workouts a couple weeks after the season is over. I think it is healthy mentally and physically to get away from the coaches and the coaches to get away from the players. AAU has hindered that ability of players because from about 12 years -18 years old parents, coaches, and players think there is no choice in playing or not. The schedules are actually shorter now due to limits by the tssaa --In the late eighties we played 38 ballgames in one season with the tourney. I loved and still love the game but it is nice to work on your game on your own when you love it instead os someone making doo workouts all year--I believe that will cause burnout. I spoke with one of the lady vol assistant coaches this summer and they said that pat summit has taught them that girls need more rest because of the way their hips are made it puts more pressure on their knees. He said that is what happened to candace parker she finished high school and played on some us junior team or something all summer after playing aau and her knees just gave out--if you get in a rut you have to life fresh.

  8. Wow, I to agree with soshs05--Why do not post up a 6'4" girl? and why do not guard the best player on the other team the first half? OS great win and you definitely out coached ac. The only warning is ac has beem playing so bad dont get to excited about beating them--as oddsmaker said both their districts are cupcakes

SOS what was the comment about someone maybe playing at grammar school games?

  9. AC has three games this week, they have not been playing good, and they have a big rematch with claiborne thursday so the cats might have a opportunity to get one at ac on friday, but I am not sure how good os is because their district and region is so weak. Do you thionk that will hurt them?

  10. I will quote Major Payne"We dont have to go to name calling" Wow, I feel like I am listening to the democratic national convention---"I have nothing intelligent to say so I just call you names and make up stuff like you hate people just because you stated an opinion based on personal beliefs that I dont agree with and makes me angry because you dont say what I want you to say" Well go stomp your feet and call the aclu because you dont like what I am saying. I have nothing against lockard, as I said he probably teaches the kids how to play but an epidemic in the coaching ranks (aka Buzz Peterson) is coaches are having a harder time selling and making kids to play correct and hard on the defensive end. Bruce Pearl has figured it out.

hey chsbaseball10----I dont see why he likes eldridge?I am not bashing eldridge, he is a nice person--CONTRADICTION?

  11. Cupcake district??? Well see just how much of a cupecake district it is when o.s comes knocking on friday. I think that if O.S can stick with an almost beat an awesome AA York, they can beat an AA A.C team. And yeah O.S has played and beaten good teams. I think that its funny that all the A.C people think that just after one win in over 9 years OF LOOSING TO O.S they think they're hott stuff. And no I am not downing A.C at all because yes they are a good team. Can O.S beat A.C, yes! Will they, you never know!

Who have they beat that is good?

  12. Halls is over rated and will not make it out of the region tournament. Yes that is right it will be 1 and done for them in the region. On the other hand Pearl and Lockard's name should never be in the same sentence ever again. Pearl has discipline and a great half court defensive team. Clinton has neither. Pearl is getting the most out of what he has and you cant say Lockard has night in and night out in the past. That is comical you would even put the two of them in the same sentence. Do you know anything about basketball. Pearl brought his system into Tennessee and Lockard's was already establised by his father. I am glad everyone is talking about Pearl but lets put him in the category of Williams, Coach K, and Izzo not LOCKARD!!

  13. Is phil fulmer or joe paterno a better coach?how about steve spurrier?how about bobby bowden? Well based on the win/loss record formula up until this year he had the best win percentage among active coaches. Also i dont the win loss of ac the last five years but if it is worse than clinton it is not much worse. The reason lockard has won is the same as fulmer--he is a pretty good coach with great talent. But my original point was not disputing who was better or if lockard is good or not but that I dont think his team plays with good defensive fundamentals The fact is he probably does teach them but most players will not do them unless you make them andpunish them for not doing them on a daily basis. it seems that the technique is not enforced as much as the philosopjy of making them shoot fast which results in alot of teams shooting bad. plus when he had the 6-9 boy he could chase the opponents all over the place because he was back waiting on anybody that dared to enter the lane. Bottom line their team does not take defense fendamentals serious.
