  1. Gordonsville's girls played a hard fought battle last night. I thought they played well against the lady bobcats. In my opinion without #23 Pickett County would be in serious trouble, she is their only real threat. They only defeated Gordonsville's girls by 15 and #23 scored 30 out of their total 60 points so what does that say for the rest of the team? Gordonsville's girls should win some games this season, they just have to play as a team from start to finish.

Did the F/C #22 I think not do anything for PC? She was a pretty good player last year...

  2. What just curious on where are these teams and how are they doing?

Oliver Springs - Went to Cleveland Team Camp......went 5-1. On day 1, they beat Temple by 41, beat Sweetwater by 22, beat Polk Co by 20. Day 2 they lost to Troousdale Co by 2 in OT (worst shooting game), beat Clay Co by 7, beat Chatt Christian by 10. They go next to the Karns camp and Knox Webb. They will end the summer at Tenn Tech.

Wartburg - I know they were at Sequatchie Camp last week...comments?

Oakdale - got a new coach a few weeks ago, are they going anywhere?

Jellico - They are on tap for Karns, what else?

    Onieda - Also at Karns.....

    Coalfield - At Karns.....

    Sunbright - No clue, help?

Who was coaching that Temple team?

  3. I knew that a change was going to happen, but I did not know and dont know who is going to be the new coach. I have heard Alexanders name, but surely someone else will emerge as a leading candidate. Any names out there?

    I doubt there is a line forming for this job.... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  4. Knew it was just a matter of time. Just don't believe it's in his cards to have to deal with the state of the athletic program at Temle now. I wish him and his family well..

Seems that all the dynasty talk has changed.......Is the next article going to be " Temple closing its doors " ? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  5. Hello!

I'm Greg Ledbetter, program director for Wendy's Elite Girls basketball. Wendy's Elite is not a registered AAU team. We are a local organization that keeps girls from Lenoir City and play in local tournaments. It allow girls who wouldn't get the opportunity to play for an elite AAU team to be apart of the spring ball.

I spoke to Joe Lee, Lenoir City HS coach, about your daughter and he would like to speak with you. If you like, you can give me your number or I'll give you his. 865-742-5125

    Thanks,

    Greg Ledbetter

    Just trying to get turned into TSSAA? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  6. I just got word at work that South Pittsburg's coach got fired. Would it be possible they are making room for a coach? I believe Grundy's girls coach has connections there....just heard that today at work. Is there any truth that she will be there or is this just a rumor?

Fired?!? Why? I thought she did a good job with what she had to work with...any details?

  7. Loved Coach Marcum's quote in the paper today. When asked about the rumors of Temple not having a team next year because of low enrollement he said "We're not going anywhere, the Temple dynasty will continue."

Is he not the Lane Kiffin of Chattanooga basketball?

He hasn't committed yet, but has several offers from mid-majors, including UT-Chattanooga, UT-Martin, and Charleston Southern.

Well he better have a great recruiting class coming in or the dynasty might not make it out of the District next year /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  8. Technical was deserved...Swinging his arms crazy like everytime he scores..He had already got one technical in the first half for it, but he continued todo it...Just stupid..Manassas is trying to give the Gold ball away....Again.... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  9. Ok if you did not here Jeremy Sexton was indeed welcomed into the Mcdonalds all star team, he will be playing in miami florida so for thosse who think he is just all talk be watchin espn on may the 2 and watch my big brother go to work.

As per the Mcdonalds All American website, they dont decide until around Feb. 15th on the final 20 spots, so im not sure your info. is valid /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  10. CSAS had 7 girls who scored 4 or fewer points. Seems like they could have played more.

    4pts and fewer

    Gordon - Junior starter

    Buchanan - 6th man

Rodriguez - Senior usually 1st or second off bench

    Garner- Sophmore

    McConnell- Freshman

    Mayweather- Freshman

    Gray-Timmons - Freshman

As noted in the other post, only freshmen and sophmores played in the final 19min of the game.

So please tell me whatelse could have been done? Cross half court and hold the ball and not let the freshmen and sophmores get to play?

  11. Richard Hardy is not good...Last year Arts beat them 95 - 3...as you can see Arts is full of class...I never know what they are trying to prove...At least the Texas team that won this week 100 - 0 feels bad about the game and is seeking a forfeit loss (not that I think Arts should do the same)...And yes Arts fans I know you could have beaten them worse, so could just about everyone else that plays them, so I don't want to hear those excuses that it could have been worse...

CSAS played all 13 girls in the first quarter....Only sophmores and and freshmen played from 3min left in the second qtr and for the whole second half....and they also played a 2-3 zone for that time aswell, please tell me what you would have liked for them to do differently?
