  1. From what I understand, the new principal at Scotts Hill wanted to go in a new direction. He has problems with Coach Woodmore the day he arrived. Such a shame too. Woodmore did all he could do with the talent available at Scotts Hill. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Someone better scoop him up. Maybe McNairy will consider him. He lives in the area I believe

  2. There is no such thing as a 12 month contract. That term means your coaching supplement will be equivalent to two extra months salary. $45,000 per year divided by 10 months = 4,500 per month. That equals to a $9,000 supplement for head coach. Softball is around $4,500 and athletic director is around 2,500 in TC. That’s 61,000. I do agree that’s above average pay. But to Bruce’s argument, it’s not enough for any of the coaches. And I would be willing to bet he is the 3rd or 4th highest paid coach in the district. Metro, Wilson, Sumner, Robertson schools pay much better overall for their teachers and coaches.

  3. I’ve read this long enough. There was not one single punch thrown between the said coach and player. He did grab his facemask and said some things that a coach should never say to a player. The initial response from administration was a two practice suspension. Not much of a punishment for said assault. Before the player left the field, the said coach apologized to the player, shook his hand and apologizes to the boys mother. Said and done. The suspension took place because of a lack of respect shown towards administration. The said coach didn’t feel like he deserved to suspended and was insulted that his integrity was being questioned. 53 day suspension. Never fired. Was asked to return to coaching, even by Blake. He left to join his best friend at another school. Not forced, left on good terms. So enough about the assault, because it wasn’t.

  4. This is unusual circumstances because Dr. Satterfield has a son in the mix for the job. In my opinion, Blake is a strong candidate for this job for many reasons. I believe the list went public because it allows people see who all was interested and who was possibly the best fit. It would be a good defense against all those in the community who might cry foul if and when Blake is hired. This is my humble opinion and could very well be wrong. I also have my opinion about the Vidette, but that is a whole different conversation

I am talking in general. Clint needs to do his superintendent job and stay out of the pressbox. Period.

Let me put this to rest. Coach Clint does not try and control the coaches. He will come around and watch practice. He will come hang out at the field house, but he only gives input when asked. He started helping this year when he was asked to help. All the years I spend down there, he never made any coach do something. However, how many programs have a hall of fame coach that you can bounce ideas off of? When I was coaching and needed some help, I too would ask him questions. Even then he would only suggest ideas. Only an idiot would not take his suggestions. So, Clint does not coach from the sideline or press box unless he is asked to do so. I’ve heard enough about him controlling the program.

Scotts Hill has facilities now that weren't even in discussion before Stroup, because he built a program, not just a winning team. We only had a team for four years before he came, and there was serious discussion about whether to continue the program because of low numbers. In the four years that Coach Stroup was there, we built a new fieldhouse with coach's offices and weightroom, bathrooms, new bleachers, press box, practice field, and two concession stands, along with cementing the fact that Scotts Hill was/is a football school and community. Hiring a coach is a gamble and I won't go into that further, but we hired another one today, and if he is what I BELIEVE that he is, he'll do for our program what Stroup did...if he leaves for a "better" job at some point, I'll gladly be back on here congratulating him, and telling the coachT readers how thankful that I am for what he contributed while he was here too.

The new hire is a great coach and an even better man. Great hire for you all!!

  7. Coach Grey is a good coach. He also has a good staff. As far as I know, he has be able to keep the majority of his staff for the last 8 or 9 years. We have tried our best to get one of your coaches to come back home and lead our program, but he won't leave Adamsville. That is a testament to your school and supporters. I've been to some games there and Adamsville does a great job of showing great support to their players and coaches alike. That is rare these days. Keep up the good work down there and good luck to the Cards the rest of the way.

It's not a big secret genius most people know he tore his ACL it's pretty much public knowledge this is high school football not NFL what you think Westmoreland wouldn't find out when they seen him in street cloths on sideline Friday night and once the watch the film from last game they wouldn't be able to tell when they seen him get hurt on film once again this isn't a Top Secret

No one on here knew it until you made it public knowledge. We don't have to give an injury report like the NFL. I'd be willing to bet as soon as someone read this they told the Westmoreland coaching staff. They probably immediately decided to spend more time working other parts of our offense instead of our fullback game. That is how it works. I seriously doubt you ever played here because you don't know the number one rule of Jacket football. "What we say here and what we do here.............."
