  1. I don't think Taydizzle is Coach Dragoo. However, I don't think Taydizzle has said anything that was not public knowledge about the situation with Temple's violations occured. If it truly were Dragoo, I think he could spill a lot more beans about Temple than Taydizzle has. It takes the fun out of getting on here when people assume who people are.
  2. CSAS had a much better game plan this time around, but the execution just wasn't there. However, it will be extremely hard for Grace to be a good CSAS team four times. Remember, all the pressure is on Grace and Temple. nothing was expected out of CSAS. I like the Patriot's chances in the money game for some reason. Guess we'll see. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  3. Monday 2/16/09 Article from Chattanooga Times-Free Press Chattanooga: CSAS looking strong heading into 6-A tournament Monday, February 16, 2009 By: Jaime Lackey (Contact) After graduating a group of seven seniors who led Arts & Sciences to two Class A basketball sectionals and one state final, most everyone expected this to be a rebuilding year for CSAS. Everyone except the Patriots themselves. With two sophomores and a freshman joining one returning player in the starting lineup, Arts & Sciences currently stands at 17-6 overall and 11-0 in District 6-A, where the Patriots will be the No. 1 seed for the tournament that begins Friday at South Pittsburg High School. ???Losing those seven seniors hurt because a lot of guys didn??™t have much experience,??? senior guard Tyler Johnson said, ???but as the season has gone on, we??™ve really improved a lot. We??™re definitely excited because of the opportunities we have in front of us. The expectations other people had for us weren??™t that high, but we set our expectations high every day in practice.??? Following Thursday??™s district play-in games and Friday??™s quarterfinals, the 6-A semifinals will be held Saturday with consolation games next Monday and championships Tuesday. The Patriots have claimed the tournament title every year since moving back into Class A, but the team coach Mark Dragoo will take to this year??™s district championships will have to gain postseason experience quickly. ???Terrell Townsend is our only returning starter,??? Dragoo said. ???The rest of them are all new. We??™re just trying to get them all on the same page, and we??™re still working on it. I do think the experience is starting to come together, and our kids are playing really hard. I??™d say we??™ve had a successful year ??” a good year, but not a great year. We have to wait and see how it all turns out before we can say that.??? One area where the Patriots have excelled is on defense, where their quickness and athleticism have created headaches for opponents all season. Their defensive effort nearly led to two upset wins in recent weeks over Region 3-A favorites Tennessee Temple and Grace Academy, but Dragoo said his team is staying focused on continuing to improve as it heads toward the playoffs. ???The guys play hard, and they??™ve learned a lot as the season has gone on,??? he said. ???I??™d say we??™re 95 percent to where we want to be. We??™re not playing our best, but we??™re getting better every game. We??™ve improved a lot, and I think we still have a lot of room to improve even more.??? Still, the players hope their three-point loss to Grace and six-point margin against Temple proved the Patriots are capable of earning another district championship and reaching the region finals for a third consecutive season. ???It was frustrating because we had the game in our hands both times, and we let both of them off the hook,??? Johnson said. ???They??™re two great teams, so I definitely think it opened a lot of people??™s eyes in Chattanooga, and hopefully the state, that we??™re a team to be reckoned with and we won??™t back down from a challenge.???
  4. After seeing the game last night, I do believe Temple will win the district and this will be the region semis matchup. I like the Pats chances in the money game. They continue to get better.
  5. Temple telling someone to show some class /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> ! This is coming from a school who has committed major TSSAA violations and got away with it.
  6. A complete sentence would be nice. What was the atmosphere like for the last regular season game at Vance Gymnasium? Why was the game so close?
  7. Yeah,Yeah, we know. When you play half court man the whole game, run the clock the entire 2nd half, and play your bench almost the entire 2nd half, what else do you want them to do? PLAY THEM 2 ON 5? Don't act like Temple hasn't run the score up on people. A 3 at the buzzer at 21st Century to break 100 ring a bell!? Enjoy it while we can? What was the atmosphere like for the last regular season game at Vance?
  8. Who has ended your season the last two years?
  9. CSAS seems to be peaking at the right time. We'll see what happens. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  11. I don't quite understand the hostility. Sexton is very good, just not top 30 in the country. Anyone with basketball sense could understand that. Oh, and Porter Roberts was one of the best players to ever play in this city. He won 3 Big Ten Championships as the starting point guard at Purdue, and played a decade overseas. I never said sexton couldn't be a great player. Where did you play?
  12. Sexton is a very good player, but not a McDonald's All-American. He was nominated to play, along with 1,499 other players. Basically, all you have to do is nominate the player along with like 4 other coaches. CSAS has had 4 nominees:Porter Roberts, Carlos Clark, George Hudgins, and Moses Lindsey(all played on the same team in early 90's). As good as they were none actually played in the game. However, Sexton was the difference last night. There is no denying that.
  13. Maybe CSAS could end up like Temple last year. Got blown out at home, Play a great game away, and then see what happens in the region finals. However, to beat Grace will not be easy. Hopefully the Patriots can continue to buy into their system, and get better. They definitely surprised me last night along with a lot of people.
  14. There are only 4 good teams in the East and they are the top 4.
  15. Kemp was not in the paper. Did he play? If not, why?
  16. There is NO WAY he could ever play D-1. You have lost all credibility on these boards. Too short, too slow, can't shoot. All I remember him doing is flopping around the rim.
  17. There are the Memphis teams and the Chattanooga Teams in 1A. If you don't live in these two areas you have no competition. 1. Manassas 2. Humboldt 3. Temple 4. Grace Baptist 5. Lake County 6. Union City 7. CSAS 8. Grace Christian 9. Culleoka 10. Clay County
  18. Doesn't look worthy of being called "Battle of the State."
  19. That is an old bracket because CSAS plays Howard tomorrow night at 8:30.
  20. Tennessee High(Viking Hall), Science Hill(Freedom Hall), Dobynes Bennett, Oak Ridge all have massive gyms.
  21. Are you sure UTC has offered? I heard they weren't sold on him yet.
  22. In Chattanooga: Only one side of bleachers: Lookout Valley CCS Silverdale Way too small for big games: Grace
  23. They are very good, but I don't thinkl they are "clicking" like they did at the end of the year last year. It will be interesting to see if they can play to that level this year. They have 5 1/2 players so that will effect them as the years goes on. If someone gets hurt... they are in BIG trouble!
