  1. I vote to show the percentages once you picked them - like last years. Its always nice to know how much you may be going against the current!!!

I also vote to show the percentages before the game as in years past. Its good to know which games you've picked as upsets. I don't doubt some will find a way to view to percentages to make their selections, but who cares. If you always pick the team with the highest percentage, you won't win anyways.

  2. Ok, so if we are to make this lady happy, we have to think of something with a more positive image, since the White House Blue Devils is so negative. Here's a few of my suggestions:

    The White House Helping Hyenas

    The White House Grasshoppers

    The White House Shrews

The White House Native Americans (the mascot "Indians" or "Redskins" might offend someone)

    The White House Goldfish

    The White House Buttercream Gang

    Any other suggestions?

  3. Warren county has an obviously big loss at quarterback, but i believe Paz had some very athletic kids backing him up last year, who might turn out to be pretty good with a little game experience. I went to the warren county football banquet this year, and at one point they asked the entire defensive unit to stand up. If i remember correctly, there were only like 3 or 4 seniors in the entire defensive unit, and the two players who got Defensive MVP were both Juniors. Warren county could be pretty tough. If Cumberland county drops down to 3A or 4A next year, what will that do to the schedules, since most of the schedules are already set?

  4. So what do yall think of region 3-5A next season? Will cookeville be dominate and repeat again? Will cookeville drop way down after loosing 30 something seniors? What coaches are leaving? Who will be hired in their places? How will the affect the region? Was warren county's playoff run a fluke, or the beginning of something big? With a new school opening in Cumberland county, will cumberland county still be in the region next year? Who will the dominent players be next year? Who are some of the young guys to watch out for? What are the teams doing during the off season to prepare for next year? Who will win region next year?

  5. One thing they could do is require a team to have a winning record to qualify for the playoffs. Then only have two teams from each region. Cuts expenses and culls the dead wood out.

Won't happen though because the T$$AA would lose too much money.

Personally I'd like to go back. You wouldn't have to replay someone you've already played. You also wouldn't have two contenders for a championship elimating each other early in the playoffs. Look at some of the early playoffs games.

I like this idea. This would put more emphasis on the regular season games. As it is right now, theoreticly, a team could be 2-8 in the regular season, and still have a shot of winning state. Make the teams play all year long, and not just the last 5 weeks. Also, when 32 teams go to the playoffs, that means that 31 teams, will end their season with a loss. Have the top 2 from each region go to the playoffs, and then schedule more bowl games to give some of the good 3rd and 4th place teams a postseason game.

  6. Who gets all region in 3-5A? Offensive MVP? Defensive MVP? Do they do Special Teams MVP?

In the past they've done it something like this... The first place team gets 8 people, 2nd place team gets 6, 3rd place team gets 5, 4th place team gets 4, 5th place team gets 3, 6th place team gets two.... or something like that. I kinda wish they would just do it like the all state team. Have a first and second team offense and deffense, naming the best player at each position. (Although if you did that, the all region team would be cookeville, with just a player or two added from the other teams.)

  7. Well Wilson Central played a great game and i wish them the bst of luck. They pretty much won every aspect fo the game excpet for the big hits. Wow!!! Did yall see #56 Jon Paz light up Wilsons Runnin Back? Wheww! what a hit. Good Luck Wilson Central

I'm sure wilson central dominated, in just about every catagory of stats there is to keep, except big hits. Wilson central had a couple of good hits, but warren county was poppin' 'em all night. Warren county wasn't gonna loose this game, without at least making sure Wilson Central was good and sore when they woke up saturday morning. Great year warren county! I'm looking foward to bradley central in week 0!

  8. Would it make for a better season if each region only took the top 2 teams to the football playoffs? This would eliminate any chance of a team with a loosing record making the playoffs and make it be very special for a team to get into the state football playoffs. The bowl games would be for teams that have 7+ wins during the season that don't qualify for the playoffs. The communities that wish to sponsor a bowl game could make some money as could the schools that participate. In the past the bowl game people treat both teams like kings by giving them jackets, caps, shirts, rings, etc...

I really like this idea. Sure, there's always some team that finished 3rd or 4th in the season, yet they end up doing good in the playoffs, but with this system it would put more emphasis on the season games. A team would have to be more competitive all year long, and not just show up to play in november. Bowl games would also be good. As it is right now, out of 32 pretty good teams, all with pretty good seasons, 31 of them will end their season with a loss. Bowl games would allow more teams to end their season with a big win. However, even tho this is a great idea, i highly doubt the T$$AA would look into it. They are able to raise ticket prices to 7 dollars a game during the playoff games. I'm not sure how much of this goes to the tssaa, but i'm sure its a pretty good chunk. They've got to be makin' a ton of money, with more than 150 playoff games every year.

  9. Bradley Central!!! we are going to go from laughable to a good playoff team. all because of John Allen and the Bear Faithful.

    GO BEARS!!

I noticed Bradley Central was taking quite a bashing on this board, so I just thought i'd remind everyone that wilson central was 0-10 two years ago, and coming into this season, warren county had lost 39 straight, and now their in the playoffs, and if they had gotten a couple of lucky bounces, they could easily be 8-2 this year. I saw in an earlier post someone said your coach was playing 40+ freshmen every time their freshmen team played. Thats a good number of freshmen to have coming out. If yall could get most of those freshmen to stick with it all four years (only letting those with looser attitudes quit), and yall keep working hard, good things will happen. Good luck bradley central (except in week 0 when you play the pioneers)!

  10. I think you're right about this game going into OT - however, gotta go with the Bucs breaking out of the "1 and done" playoff cycle this year.

If Tullahoma can keep this one close at the begining, i'm gonna have to give them the edge, because tullahoma's proved time and time again they know how to win close games.

  11. Warren County definitely a surpise team....played great ball and find themselves at 5-5....could be 7-3 with 3 point losses to coffe and tullahoma.....wuld be nice to see a big upset vs wilson central

Don't forget the overtime loss to Lincoln County, a win there would make them 8-2. But its not time to say would'a could'a should'a, but look at how great they have done. They've won 5 times as many games as most people thought they would. Good luck this friday pioneers!
