  1. Wildcat 1970 do you remember the Tyner teams back in the 70's. We played them when Randy Stephens was a senior. Jody Stevens hit a shot at the buzzer to beat them in the first game of the Region if I'm not mistaking. Howard then beat us by 30. Howard and Riverside played in the finals with Riverside winning and going on to win the state that year. Anthony Roberts played on Riverside and plau=yed at Oral Roberts and I think played some pro ball.

I remember those players well, but can't recall the game you are talking about. I am sure that I was there though. My memory is not very sharp at this age!

  2. A warning for Upperman fans going to Mcminn Central. When they say EARLY, you better get there EARLY! An hour before the game just won't cut it. Better get to that ticket window line and buy the ticket and then be prepared for a long wait in the other line.

  4. Well since I didn't see the game I don't really have a clue. And I wasn't trying to be negative in any way. But sometimes a team or player becomes a little complacent. Especially after the last few games we have won fairly easy. And against Upperman I can see our boys coming out with like it's just another game we should win fairly easy. But the next thing you know we're behind and when you reach to get that extra gear it's to late. Players start forcing shots, trying to do to much etc. all the while the Bees are trying to stick us with that stinger a little deeper. To me that's wanting it more.

Believe me I know Upperman has a good team but I don't think they should have won the game with the talent we have much less beat us by 13 or whatever the score was.

Upperman shot a high percentage and LA shot less than 40% i think. I believe Upperman shot over 50%. Thats the tale. I was there and LA couldn't hit alot of shots that they generally do hit. When LA had the ball they couldn't do anything with it. Giving credit to Upperman though, because alot of it was caused by them. Upperman was the better team THAT night for sure.

  5. I am going to have to pay closer attention to the game. I stayed until the game was over and I didn't see any dunks. I must have been snoozing due to the closeness of the game.

I was there at the end too, I didn't see any dunks either.

  6. Someone at Cookeville High School is really smart. The hand rails up the isles have been removed and they have 2 or 3 inch bases sticking up right in the center of the steps of the isles. Someone could trip over them and fall. They need to put the hand rails back up. What are they doing? Inviting lawsuits or something?

  8. Wildcat, LA plays tomorrow at Siegel (I think they play at 9, 11, and 3)...their is a thread on it telling the schedule. If not mistaken they play next Saturday at Harpeth.

Thanks for the info. I can't make it tomorrow. I may have to wait until season starts before I can see them as I have plans for both of those days you mentioned.
