1. Just ask other teams in the region and see who they think is the better linebacker between the two. Spencer got DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!! That is voted by the coaches of other teams. Spencer didnt get the recognition he deserved like Estep did. A player that gets all-state on a decent team looks a lot better than an all-state caliber player who plays on a really good team with two all-staters and a slew of other good ones.

  2. QUOTE(eaglefan85 @ May 4 2007 - 03:22 PM) 826451780That's the best you could come up with? About the field, you don't understand sarcasm do you? I could say more but obviously it would go right over your head. TOOT!!!!!!!!!!!! TOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About your sarcasm, I was turning it around on you. Reading all your posts, I bet you have a lot of friends. You dont have anything positive to say. I would bet you rode the pine in high school and now you know more than any player or coach? Am I getting warm?

  3. it was cosbybasketball30 who hit the shot in the tourney. The long haired twin. im the other one. Thank you for the comment and yeah that was a heck of a game. good luck to you all and tell your coach im sry i didnt get to talk to him after the game. He's a great guy.

  4. Is your boyfriend number 85 for C-N? Thats cute, i bet he appreciates you supporting him. And Id hope that field is smaller than the one we play on being its for little league play /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  5. QUOTE(eaglefan85 @ May 2 2007 - 09:23 AM) 826449780The score posted for Cosby on Wed April 25 against GP needs to be corrected. The game never happened. It was rescheduled for Fri April 27 but no officials showed up (Imagine that at Cosby!).

The game ended up being no more than a scrimmage with GPs JV playing after 1st or 2nd inning. Granted cosbybasketball30 wishes it were a game so his 2 hr would count. Both hit off of freshman JVers, 1 of which had never pitched, long after GPs coached had pulled his seniors. Wow something to remember so you can tell your grandkids later in life.

lol. who are you? You problably couldnt hit one out down on the field adjacent to where we play! Who tooted your horn anyway?

  6. QUOTE(HAMPTON @ May 1 2007 - 12:18 AM) 826448839Well said well said dawgbacker. I think that was well put. Plus also think that unaka was just scared of getting beat by the same teams more than once in a year. Just as always a bunch of city prepy boys that can't handle the pressure or a little contact on the field. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Im not very familiar with Unaka and their social being, but I surely wouldn't think of them being" City prepy boys" up there on the creek. If Unaka is city prepy boys, Elizabethton must sem like Harvard to you all. lol

  7. QUOTE(zebra25 @ Apr 15 2007 - 06:39 PM) 826438063How many championships have you won in a row.Just because you finished 2nd one year and finally beat Cloudland for the first time in history doesn't make you a football dynasty. Cloudland will be hanging 50 on you again very soon if not this year.

Did I toot your horn, I think not? Nobody is talking about how Cosby wil run the table and beat everybody and how Cloudland will never win another game. I said we produced the best defensive player two years in a row. Did I say Cosby was a football dynasty, no. And If Cloudland hung 50 up on Cosby this year, ill ride a pony from Cosby to Roan Mt. bare *$$

  8. If there is someone out there who can make me believe Estep is a better lb than Spencer Grooms id like to meet you, shake you hand, and buy you dinner. Spencer is a 16 year old kid who loves to hit and actually plays the position well. He lives in the weigh room and would show estep up in the weight room. to be honest i dont even remember estep in our game. I do remember Carpenter though. He impressed me. And for the record Cosby has produced back to back defensive players of the year. linebacker High? maybe.

  9. QUOTE(whirlwind @ Apr 13 2007 - 07:50 AM) 826436468MVP-ADAM TOWNSEND,HAMPTON

O MVP- BRANDON MEDINA, UNAKA AND KEVIN RONE, COSBY

    D MVP- SPENCER GROOMS, COSBY

    ST MVP- MICHAEL CARPENTER, UNAKA

Yes people did get robbed, Grooms was a great player for Cosby last year, But Jacob led the region in tackles 150, aswell as top 5 in the state in overall tackles. Jonathan Lyons was a shield in the secondary for the Bulldogs. Either of these would be a better choice, not to discredit Grooms.

Townsend got half of the MVP award. Im pretty sure the other half is hanging somewhere in cosby. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  10. Im pretty sure he is thinking of Cosby. We've been 6 times the last 10 years. Two runner-ups versus some very good teams. Never got the one that counted though. The year that Unaka won the state they put us out of sub-state on a 25 foot three w/ 2 seconds to go.

  11. QUOTE(treefitty74 @ Mar 6 2007 - 06:46 AM) 826401731Sounds alot like Cloudland of last year except with a winning record.....Humboldt wins big

Wow! That was no where to what could be considered a rational thought. Wartburg is absolutely nothing like Cloudland last year. Cloudland played like the slowest team in the state and played the fastest team in the state last year. Wartburg will run it, but can play half court also. They will pressure you to death in the full court or in the half court.Right now DJ Shannon may be the hottest player in the state. He is averging 35 points and 15 rebounds in his last 15 games.6'6" and can stroke it.

  12. Last year at the state tourney...Derek Sain came off the baseline and caught a rebound and slammed in back with authority from up high...Most that were there stated it was the most prolific dunk ever at the tourney...

Are you talking the one against Cosby when he went way up on the offensive boards and yacked on our 5'11" post. That guy the dunked on could dunk himself and Sain went way up over him. I wouldn't say one of the most prolific dunks in state tourney history, but pretty nasty.

  13. QUOTE(pianomaster3 @ Feb 10 2007 - 11:03 PM) 826366835

You speak some true, but not complete. There is no way Jenkins is averaging more than Shannon. Shannon just won the writers player of the week, after scoring 46, 40, and like 36. Plus Shannon is PrepExtra's leading scorer? I'm pretty sure Jenkins was on the list a couple names down. Plus Wartburg just beat Harriman and Rockwood on consecutive nights, Plus they were on the road both nights. Wartburg has won 9 of their past 10, having to play 4 games without regular starters even playing. I'm not saying Wartbug is gonna beat cosby if they even get the chance to play, but to say that cosby is peakin without saying wartburg is wouldnt be right.

Todd was averaging more in last weeks prepextra, but this past friday had Shannon ahead of him. 46,40, and 36 are impressive. What is his Shooting%? Everybody is getting involved in Cosby and it is looking good. Goodluck to him and the team. P.S. What is Jeremy doing now? That boy could play

  14. Todd Jenkins is averaging more than Shannon. Plus more than anything, dem Eagles are coming. Won 6 in a row with Harriman, Rockwood, and Grace included. DJ Shannon is tough though. I'll never forget that baby dunk he got against us when he took like 7 steps.

  15. Seth, me and you have always got along good and I know what kind of guy you are. I could see how one could come to think you are biased towards CCHS. A lot people don't understand you are just covering CCHS and the Cosby faithful would not like the pope if he covered that bunch. To the Cosby faithful, we've played second fiddle to Cocke County in the media and etc. Fingers have to be pointed at someone. I'm sorry most of the time it's you. See ya around
