jeff county and greenvill wrestle on january the 11th at jeff county...hope there is a big crowd...everyone should come watch, it should be a very intense match
-
who are the top 130s in the region this year? any predictions for placings?
-
jeff county won the knox west tournament very easily beating every1 by 55 points +, caleb myers placed 3rd, matt king placed 4th, joel brimer placed 5th, charlie arrington placed 3rd and as a team Greenville took 9th at mccallie(very tough tournament) great job to these guys for representing region 1
-
jeff county will be at knox west...they were going to bradley but some complications have changed their plans
-
1.Greenville (by a huge margin)
2.Jeff Co
3.Science Hill
-
Jefferson County wrestled Sullivan East and won 58-24(had 2 wrestlers out)
-
Warren Co. High School and William Blount High School
-
Jefferson County
-
Robbins will be tough as usuall, which brings me to ask...is he going to go 71 or 89? Because the two polls have him listed differently.
robbins will be going 171 by the way...he might actually go 160 in january because he certified there
-
yes, kraus is no longer wrestling though...he has decided to focus on football...i think churchman is going 130 and looser 119...do u think they can make some noise at the state tourney?
-
are there any standouts or pretty tough wrestlers from jeff co
-
brad robbins from jeff co at 171
-
i think jeff county will get first or second in the region this year...they really didn't lost anybody last year and they look very very solid preseason...they hav a few guys that are sophomores going the same weight as they did last year
-
tomorrow... i will pay more attention to the jefferson county kids. goodluck to them!
did Robbins beat Roberson?
-
I think Marion County will take it all.
i think Marion County will take it hands down
-
any1 think matt lettner has a chance for Soddy at 215
I think he has a great shot. He majored Henley from SH who is a very tough kid, he will just have to wrestle his butt off against rogers, but yes i think that he has a very strong chance at even being champ.

125- Mikey Fuller defeated by a Centennial kid
160- Pease defeated by tolbert
Do you know how Brad Robbins from Jeff Co. did in his first round match against the kid from Pigeon Forge? And if you know how any of the otehr Jeff Co. kids did then please let me know...thanks
-
wright is a tough kid, but nothing is definite in wrestling. spain has a chance, and you know you cannot deny that
I think Brad Robbins at 171 will take Roberson in the finals, he has been working his butt off all season and is very very ready for this, it will be a good match but Robbins will take it in the end

I asked around ...they have 3. the kid at 103 is looser, 130 is churchman, and kraus around 150.

based on this thread...there seems to be 5 wrestlers that fit into this category...
chance haynes...135 or 140...baylor...freshman who is not wrestling this year due to transfering (which sort of take him out of what you are saying)
jake young...160lb...oltawa (spelling?)...definitly fits here...very big for freshman and is having an incredible year...
josh patton...152lb...another big weight for a freshmen who is really excelling
caleb proter...130lb...over 125lb and in an incredibly difficult weight class
ty watson...215lb...from baylor...
young, patton, and procter...because of being in big weights for freshman...must be both strong and technical...and if you combine their overall records...there are just a hand full of losses...you probably will have a 90% or higher win percentage with these three guys...based on what i have seen...young is the better wrestler of the three...but...all of them are doing what is nearly unheard of from freshmen who weigh as much as they do...all three of them have not only placed at big tough tournaments...but have also won tournaments
the heavier guy...215 ty watson...does not need as much technique at 215...but i guess must be very strong for a freshman to hold his own...and do as well as he is
I understand Jeff Co. has 2 freshman that have wrestled varsity all year. each placed 5th or better at GIT's and have won several individual tourneys between them.
-
will any of theses freshmen be going to the freshmen state and if so which ones should win it
Can you give more info about freshmen state?

I've got to say I am proud of our young team and their determination and hard work so far this season. Against Greeneville, we bumped our 160 (weighed in at 155) to 171, robbins (170) up to wrestle Grecu (190) and Reliford (174) to wrestle 215. The rest of our team with the exception of 140 are first or second year guys. Yet we do have two teams that are state contenders in Science Hill and Greeneville, good luck to all.
I understand Jefferson County has a young and competitive team. Can anyone comment on their talent? I am somewhat familiar w/Robbins @ 171...that's it. Any future qualifiers in the years to come?
