  1. I think depth will be the deciding factor in this one...Central has a lot of it and from what I hear Livingston doesn't...Should still be a good game though and I could be wrong about the depth...

LA has 3 seniors to answer that question from the previous post. How much depth does Central have? Coach Smith from LA plays 9 players most games sometimes more sometimes less. I can't speak for her but I can promise you she will play 7 (has every game don't see it changing now) She played 9 players against Polk the other night andI'm not counting the younger classmen that played the last min in a half in the 4th quarter.

  2. you have a "2009 regional championship plague"?...thats so weird....If I were you i would keep that "plague" locked up.....it can't be good for your team right before the tournament.lol

Is it anything like the ones mentioned in the Bible?

    Sorry meant plaque.

    Good Luck Lady Wildcats!

  3. Of coarse McMinn Central plays good defense............That post was a response to 'logcabinman's' post that Polk Co. was not a strong team. They are apparently the 2nd best AA team in the southeastern part of the state. They played hard and never quit....................They just happened to run into a LA team that is playing ,by far, their best BB of the season.............Anything can happen at this point in the season............... No one is getting the big head ...but...sometimes, even undefeated teams lose.---------------GO HOGEYE /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

If anyone is getting a big head its the McMinn Central fans but maybe they have a reason to. They already seem to think they have the state won and they may win it but they need to watch it. Upperman thought they had the regional won last week and already had the 2009 regional championship plaque locked in their trophy case. When Livingston defeated them it was no where to be found and LA wasn't able to celebrate with it until the next day at a pep rally.

Moral of the story bad things happen to teams that get overconfident.

Good Luck Lady Wildcats in the Boro!

    HOGEYE Nation believes in you!

  4. dude, you are the luckiest ###### on the planet. If the refs had any

    1) knowledge of the game

    2) balls

    3) clue

you would have been T'd up TWICE at the end of that game. I am not crying about it, Im just telling you to keep your ###### off the court. You almost cost your team that game. TWICE!!!

You cant go out during a TO and ask the refs ANYTHING. If he standing there by your bench you might get away with it. But CENTER FREAKING COURT??

and after that last shot. Dude, Keep your tail on the bench.

Great game by LA tonight. Congrats.

I met the Taylor kids Grandfather after the game. Seems like a great guy. I have met very few LA fans that are any different, so that is no surprise.

also, I am a big fan of the 2 Sells kids, I like the way they play, but I would have given the MVP to the Kilgore kid.

    Congrats and good luck.

(I would also like to note that no where in this thread has anyone blamed the officials for this loss)

    haha, babyblue tie on the court problem /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

I may have just missed it in all my cheering but didnt they give LA their regional championship plague and announce that they were regional champs? I saw/heard all tournament team honors but nothing else.

  5. I liked my CAROLINA blue tie. Great game, do not blame officials, it's a team game. Livingston team won, Upperman team lost. See ya tomorrow.

Hey King21 what Coach McWilliam talking to Coach Smith after the game about it? It looked like she was upset about something.

  6. Coach Smith must have gave them girls a Pat Summit half time talk. They came out on mission in the 2nd half. Good job Lady Wildcats and Coach Smith.

Play tough and pull off the upset Wednesday so we can have that sub state at home.

    Good luck Lady Wildcats!!!

  7. Mac Sells looked like she was in pain tonight in the first half and she didn't play in the second half. Anybody have any word on her? Hope everything is alright. She scored 24 tuesday night against byrdstown would be nice to have her healthy for upperman.

  8. I read in the Herald Citizen that the Cookeville's coach was hoping for a rematch with Livingston during this tournament. She will get it tomorrow at 7. Livingston played really well today hopefully it will continue tomorrow were they will have a chance to beat Cookeville for the second time this year.

  9. Unfortunently the chemistry problems seem to be getting worse as season progresses. IMO , Confidence (or lack of) seems to be a festering problem on this team. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

LA looked really good today at the Mid South Classic. M. Sells got to play a lot of minutes and looked really good. So maybe she is getting healthy again. Hopefully the Lady Wildcats are getting back on track.

  10. I haven't seen Cannon County play but I heard they put on a good performance the other night against York. Sounds like it might be another hard fought district game. LA is looking better every game now with all their starters back they are starting to get into the groove.

  11. I am surprised not to see Stone Memorial in your AA top ten. They are 15-1 and beat LA in the preseason. Their only loss has been to Clarkrange.

LA has improved a lot since the beginning of the season and in my opinion should be #1 in AA after the win over Jackson County. I'm not saying Stone Memorial shouldn't be in the the top ten because I haven't seen them play but you can't compare preseason LA to the LA that is playing now.

  12. Who does Livingston, York and Baxter Play tonight? I think these 3 are the contenders for the state. In the past, Livingston and Baxter played in the state championships. This year it is York who will be playing. this is the sleeper team in this district. Good luck to all.

Livingston plays York at LA tonight and Upperman plays Dekalb at DC. I haven't seen York play yet this year but I have seen Pickett County and I don't see someone that lets PC beat them making it to the championships. I guess I will find out tonight how good York is.

  13. What is going on in Livingston?? did they loose all their key players? I haven't seen them play yet, but by the scores it appears that the lady wildcats are struggling this year? granted it is early in the season.

Livingston has a young but talented team this year. All five starters from last year were seniors so LA is rebuilding. They are still off to a great season with only one loss.

    1 Mt. Juliet (18-1)

    2 Shelbyville (19-2)

    3 Riverdale (20-2)

    4 Upperman (21-1)

    5 Wilson Central (15-4)

    6 Smyrna (15-3)

    7 Clarkrange (18-2)

    8 Livingston Acad. (17-4)

    9 Red Boiling Springs (20-1)

    10 Antioch (19-3)

They prefice this with the following statement: "The "Top 10" is an unscientific poll in which our prep writers, with input from area coaches, select the best teams in our coverage area regardless of classification".

Unscientific or not, I think it is very misleading to include all classifications in one poll. For example, below is a comparison of schedules of four of the top ten teams and Cookeville against common opponents and just to be clear, Cookeville is not a top ten team:

Numbers posted are margin of victory or defeat

    Upperman/ Cookeville

    Franklin Co. +11/ +4

    Howard +43/ +29

    Jackson Co. +10,+22/ +4,+28

    Oliver Sp. +14/ +14

    Shelbyville -24/ -18

    Clarkrange/ Cookeville

    Oliver Sp. +8/ +14

    Jackson Co. +18/ +4,+28

    Cumberland Co+15/ +35,+24

    Lebanon +2/ +3

    Pickett Co. +22/ +35

    Livingston Acad./ Cookeville

    Head to Head -13/ +13

    Pickett Co. +18,+3/ +35

    Jackson co. +5/ +28,+4

    Red Boiling/ Cookeville

    Pickett Co. +14/ +35

    Jackson Co. +4,+4/ +28,+4

Did you notice that all these teams you are comparing Cookeville to are AA an A teams? You should beat them by a larger margin because you are a AAA team.

Livingston Academy played Cookeville real early in the season and LA has gotten a lot better since then. LA beat a really good David Lipscomb team and at the time ranked #2 in AAA Cleavland team in the past two weeks. I think the Lady Cats deserves to be in this top ten list.
