  1. QUOTE(crimsontide43 @ Feb 20 2007 - 09:23 AM) 826380774[/snapback]What a game last night. A shot at the buzzer to send it into overtime, then a dominating OT by the Bears. Central did a great job on defense but MJ turned it on in the 4th quarter. After losing the most talent last year and finishing runner up, they came back win their first championship. Bad news for the rest of Middle Tennessee, I saw 3 7th graders on the floor in OT. Congrats to the Golden Bears and Coach Rockingsox.

    Congrats to Mt. Juliet!

Many of us are wondering how you come up with who lost more talent last year? Just wondering.

Would love to know Dellaballs "SOURCE". I have seen MJ play quite a few games this year and they are a well coached bunch. Blackman's coach seems to also be a class act. I havent seen LMS or CMS so I wont comment on them. The next 3 games will be good ones or I want my admission money back. Like I said before, dont believe those friends of a friend rumors.

Definitely will be good games. In my opinion, there are no losers between Mt. Juliet and Blackman after what they both lost som egreat talent (Both lost great talent) and was really considered to be a rebuilding year for both and look where they are at. The kids have done an excellent job buying into both coaches philosophies. I wish all teams and fans the best of luck! Be careful traveling

Not a rumor. As far as middle school boys, lots of problems. No discipline, win at all costs, poor grades. Not the kind of example schools need to establish as a model.

Just an opinion. Information comes straight from the source.

    Thanks!

What was the Blackman vs Dickson score?

Not sure of the score. I know Blackman was up 11-1 at the end of the first quarter. They played their bench the remainder of the game. They were way to strong for Dickson. I beleive they ended up winning by 18-20.

Laverne does have a solid ball club..They are very well balanced.

The have three good shooters than can shoot off the dribble as well as spot up. They play very agressive defense. The only loss they have this year other then the forfiets was to Blackman which Lavergne beat in the Area finals.

Mt. Juliet is tough and Blackman is very dangerous as they were the only team to truly beat Lavergne this year on the court for the league championship.

This is going to be a great final four at the sectional.

warrior123 who are you and how do you know it was grade problems. i talked to their coach and i think it was only 1 starter

Thats what I was told, am I wrong? I don't have anymore knowledge than the anyone else sitting in the stands. I completely understand that the information could have been wrong and I probably should have quoted it as a "RUMOR" It was the rumor around the gym (Mt. Juliet parents) Basically, what I meant to say, which I did a horrible job of doing, is that I was told by another parent that it was due to grades, basically a rumor.

I always love those friend of a friend rumors. No grade problems that I know of at MJ. The state should be great. Why did Lavergne have to forfeit some games?

Update from last night: There is some problems with grades and behavior at Mt. Juliet. Two of their starters were benched the first half last night against EO Coffman due to grades and behavior. Don't know how serious it is but they should be back by Friday, I am assuming!

  8. Kinda hard to believe that former coach (Travis King) would allow those things to go on or even this year. I have no idea what team this person was referring too but doesn't seem to have much facts to back it up with.

To answer your question they had a couple of kids play in some tournament that wasn't TSSAA sactioned. They are by far the most talented and athletic team in the State Sectionals. I don't know if they will win it but they have got the horses this year to definitely go all the way. Solid inside and out.

  9. Ice Cold, I agree, A 2-2-1 would only apply pressure on the side and corners. That is not what Turnahm needed. He needed agreesive defense that could possible cause Oakland to make mistakes and turn the ball over. What coach in their right mind would go to a 2-2-1 in that situation.
