This friday clarksville northeast will travel to indy and have to deal with their usual rowdy crowd and on top of that it's their homecoming. I think we will see a balanced offense out of the ihs eagles this week with a little run and a little pass but expect indy to stick with what works untill clarksville can shut them down.

Tnsparty i was wondering if you could tell me about scotty Hazzard's status as of this week. I know he sprained his ankle last week in practice and then tried to play on it against franklin tough kid!, but he came out after the half in crutches. will he be playing against siegel???

What does the rest of the seaon look like for the eagles they have tough games with dickson, brentwood, and ravenwood whats the outcomes can they run the table????

being a student in williamson county, and having lived here my intire life (17 yrs.)

id like to say this to you, the radio station you were probably listening was based and/or has strong ties to brentwood. might i remind brentwood is one of the wealthest cities in america as is williamson county is the 11th or 12th wealthest in the nation. i personally dont come from alot of money. just cause someone lives in williamson county doesnt mean they have money, there are some parts of the county that dont even recieve fresh water!

 

now back to the subject at hand...having worked for local media, its all about demographics, and where there listeners/views/readers come from, the media puts alot of money and effort in "targeting audiences" they take annual surveys on all sorts of topics throught their veiwing areas, to see what the people want, and thats what they give 'em. when dickson can start producing state champs. and extremly strong and talented teams, im talking more than one team...cause right now you got Dickson County High School, as where in williamson county you've got Ravenwood, Brentwood, Independance, and Franklin....6 schools to 1

Easy c c chs dc is only trying to get their boys the repect they deserve from the media. Don't forget they are undefeated and they did beat that wealthy team from brentwood all they are trying to do is get their guys noticed no harm in that good luck dc once again beat the brakes off the loud mouth warriors.

Im with mcnine on this one i think indy will out score dc and should beat ravenwood but the bruins are always a tough team no matter their record eagle have to stay healthy Oh and one more question will scotty hazzard be starting this week against seigle i know he had a sprained ankle during practice last week prior to franklin i believe it was on wednsday and then played 2 quarters against the rebels and i saw him on cruthches after half time whats his status i know he's a tough kid and deals with pain very well but havn't herd of late about this week.

I think the indy fans are great and they had a big part in us beating franklin they are the 12 man. They bring the noise every where they go. I'm telling you what if I have to hear about Franklin or Indy or how Brentwood won a Close one over Ravenwood. Don"t get me Wrong this are all very good football teams and being from Dickson we still have to play most of them and they will all be hard games. But the media is all about them and there wins everyweek.

lets look at week 4. We all are heading home from our games and get in our cars and trucks and turn on the radio. Its 10PM and the late night highschool show comes on and the 5 min in to it. It's All about Brentwood thats cool they did win a big game. But then after 7-8 min of the show paying bills its time to talk to Brentwoods coach for 7 -8 min. Then its time to pay some more bills now its 10:35 and the guru Murphy comes on the show and what does the host ask him, whats your thoughts on the Brentwood game. Now lets pay some more bills.its 10:52 and I'm all most back to Dickson from our game and they come on air give us the scores from the rest of the games and go right in to Franklin And Indy's Game (Nice win Indy)!!

So from 10:00-10:59 40% Willamson county teams 20% the rest of the state and 40% paying the bills. Don't even get me started on the news papers. Im a rights right and wronge is wronge guy and last week was wrong. if you live out side of Willamson county let the media hear about it.

I play for indy and i also thinks dc diserves some attention from the media they are undefeated to and should not be over looked by anyone. I think the only reason they talked about us on the radio is because we beat franklin a huge upset. I can't wait to play you guys i know yall have excelent fans it should make for a very exciting game down at indy. Out at indy will just face it.. We're never good enough for everyone else and i for one think that is a motivational tool for them to use. This would be a different story if we were barely beating these schools but that is not the case. We've worked hard to earn those and for no one to pay respect..us at indy say THANK YOU and we will shock the world again on the 15th..good day

Well said maybe if indy puts 42 on the ole rebs people might start thinking differently about the young indy team we will find out on the 15th i don't expect this game to be a blowout in either direction.

Well its official indy is for real. i think this will be the most exciting game in 6-5a this year, while both franklin and indy's defense's are awesome i can't help but wonder with franklins qb situation if indy can't score some points on offense and let their defense keep them in a game. This is a matchup with two great defenses and im gona have to go with indy on offense. The school that wins this game will win the region, but i can't help but worry if former teamate tommy johnson's one year death aniversery will throw indy off their game indy could use that as motivation though. good luck to the rebels and i can't wait to see this game.

I don't know much about hillwood this year but indy has an edge coming off of a win that in my opinion was kida sloppy. Indy is rolling along but is gonna need some fine tuning to their team if they want to beat the likes of the brother woods and franklin.

I think ravenwood might give ba's third team a good match ba just has too much talent for the raptors. I still look for the raptors to compete well in region6 5a but d2 school like mba and ba just have too much depth with talent. ba's 4 string handled dickson county fairly easy and dickson county is no push over team, but good luck to the raptors id like nothing more than a public school to beat a private school you never now what will happen only predictions can be made and only definate answers can be answered come game time good luck!

I look for indy to come out of the gate strong. I hope the young indy team doesnt get over confident if they get a lead and let the patriots come back for the victory.

This cannot bean honest mistake! when you have several other coaches there and players that are friends with players from other schools somone has to know what the rule is. I think it is a little fear in the raptors. they are rying to get a little head start on everyone because they are missing ALOT of talent from last year. i wouldnt be suprised if they have had pads on way before they got caught. i feel more of a punishment is in order. Rector new he was caugh thats wh he didnt hesitate to admit they were early, but it seems like he admited it a little quick like he was trying to get people to leave him alone before they figured out that they were in pads longer than just a weeked before Aug 1.

I don't know. Glencliff scrimmages Greenbrier Friday at Greenbrier then they play in week zero next week against Pearl-Cohn. They, along with Indy, are looking to improve as quickly as possible.

VERY VERY VERY vanila showing by indy tonight running only six different plays on offfense and keping the starters off the field as much as possible on defense. The eagles won the game 28-3 not shoing any run game at all. The eagles did show great pass protection from the offensive line aloowing no sacks and hardly any pressure on the new transfer qb from mba. Not the best scrimmage from indy but in the end no matter how many plays they got the job done. This weekend against kenwood ill be a good test for the eagles while kenwood brings size and speed im eager to see how the eagles will do.

How do yall think todays scrimmage will turn out. I herd last time indy played glencliff, glencliff was missing some key players. Will this give the Indy team problems or will they have another dominating showing like in the spring?

I know the new coach for the cougars will help them out but i played for gregory and i know when a new offense is struggleing he doesnt ride it out he is quick to go back to the bone. i dont see this new offense lasting very long unless it works wonders for the cougars.

Can't win in 5A if you pass our of a spread set? Gee, Brentwood and Ravenwood both have rings that prove it wrong. Franklin has been to the championship game using it. Riverdale's talent pool proved the difference- not the offensive scheme. Need to have a running game as well, but any team that can't put the ball in the air 10-15 times or more won't get it done these days.

Germantown was the last one dimensional team that won a championship.

 

Spreads are effective in high school ball from an offensive standpoint because:

 

-most HS defensive backs are pitiful and most teams don't have 5 people who can cover receivers;

-completely wears out the defensive line who are pass rushing constantly, which is magnified if the d-line is big

-because of deep drops and worn out line, the running game has great lanes and space to run.

-is a threat to move the ball and score quickly, even if you are behind

-most defensive coaches try all out blitzes to negate this, which open up screens and quick timing routes.

if im not mistakin scott smith runs the spread and a running offense and both of them have been effective for independence this spring.
