Havent saw that article but I know she is a School employee in Oliver Springs schools and that she has been the Assisant Coach for at least four years and to be their that long I would think she has been approved by T$$AA. I know of another Coach in Roane County whos not a Teacher but was a Head Coach for years but was a Roane County School employee.
I might still have the paper, Ill look for it, and if i find it I will email it to you word for word if you want me to tommorow. But Im pretty sure that is along the lines of what it said. It did say that she was the schools nurse, so you would think that would be good enough. Dosent make much sense to me too.

I think I read the artilce he is talking about, It said something about your coach doing a good job and leading the team to state, only to find out that she was not reported to the TSSAA as a non-faculty coach, and that Oliver Springs had to pay a $2,500 fine, $500 per year she coached. I read it too, I wondered why she wasnt annouced as the coach at the state tournament.

For anyone that saw her play at her old school and saw her play this past year, knows that she has really developed into a ten times better player over the 2 1/2 years at JC. I think its a bad choice but if thats what the family wants who is to stop them.

Not all sports classifications are the same. Oliver Springs is A in basketball but AA in football. Since football has 5 classifications and basketball has 3 the teams are not always in the same one.
I dont see football mentioned in the other posts?

its refreshing to see a kid want to play for her community
way to go
Yeah I'm sure thats what it was, she was all the sudden full of community pride that the family decided to move into a new house.

I wouldn't be so sure...It was scary for JC last night...
It wouldn't be Westmorland i'de be worried about...it should be gordonsville...they're obviously the better team...
JC won't shoot 2 for 22 from 3 land again, if they would have hit any at all early the game wouldnt have went ot OT. Book it!!
-
Josh Denson is probably their best all around player and if Blake Allen plays he should be their #2 pitcher. Hensley is a good pitcher but he needs to improve on his stamina because after about 4 innings he starts getting tired.
ECS are you a student at JCHS. Because its nice to have faith in your team but in reality I believe it will be a long season for the Blue Devils. I hope I'm wrong though. Good luck to the Devils and Coach Kevin "THE HAMMER" King
If i remember correctly they had a long year last year too, just because your son isnt playing anymore dosent mean they are going to be terrible like you say.
-
Yeah...hopefully next time RBS will be on the better side of the scoreboard...
If Coach Brown was trying to lose and they still won then RBS must be horrible, which we all know isnt the case. So thats just stupid.
Don't see it happening there swanson.

If they couldn't find a seat then they weren't looking very hard. I got there after halftime of the first game and there were plenty of seats. The only time any game was delayed was because the Friendship students were standing and blocking the view of a lot of people and they were forced to move.
As for the burgers, I had two on each night and they were quite tasty.
I wasnt talking about the 8A toruney, I was talking about 7A tourney at Baxter

Bobcatfan couldnt find this thread aparently, well here it is.

The prediction by JC & Clay fans of a blowout came true, but it was Pickett Co. blowing Jackson Co. out of the gym last night. It was 10-9 JC at the end of one, 28-12 Pickett Co. at the half and 41-16 Pickett Co. after 3 quarters. At one point Pickett held JC to 2 points in 14 minutes. Jacob Wright showed why he should have been district MVP, while TC Capps dominated on the boards and added a dunk. In '97 Pickett won their 7th straght district championship and have been in everyone since. This is at least their 16th straight district championship game and the streak may be more going back to '88-89.
There is already a thread over this game, but I guess you didnt like the way it was worded. You have to rub things in and make them sound better. Pickett didnt take a few of the starter out till well under 4 minutes left in the 4th. It might have been 43-16 when you sent one sub in. JC had already put all thier subs in and Wright and Roddy are still scoring. I didnt like that at all. Im not trying to take anything away from Pickett Co because they won big, but you could have just replied on the thread that has already been started.

I'm not aware of anything like that, rule per se, but it has happened. Last year in 4AA region was hosted by 7AA and the finals of either boys or girls or both were held at a site in 8AA as it was an all 8AA finals
But there was also another reason for that, 7AA turns out fans.........w/o any 7AA teams in finals, no 7AA fans=no revenue.
They didnt finish that tourney out at LA last year? I know it was all 8AA for the boys and girls in the finals, but I didnt hear they moved the finals. If they did where did they move them?

Got to get one more before I turn them in,sorry for the delay.

Watch the game before you post. When your post players are out in the first half. You have to shoot from somewhere. We had more fouls against us in the first half then they had the whole game. A lot of touch fouls on one end and not the other. That was not the reason we lost, it didn't help. We lost because we shot very poor as a team, not just three's. Maybe you need someone to read that to you so you can comprehend it.
Gotmilk - I am going to go real low to look for a reply that you will understand - BITE ME!!
If I did ref I would do my best to call it fair and unbiased.
Clarkrange has never just lost a game, it is always the refs fault!
-
First of all no one said they lost on purpose. ECS was wondering how they lost like they did. He probably wasn't there.
I said what I said in response to what senator said, not because i wondered how they lost like they did. I know exactly how they lost, I witnessed it for myself.

What do you think of LA's chances in the region? Will 7AA finally get a team to the buro' this year? I know Hume-Fogg has a good team but outside of them i wonder if there will be anyone that can stay with LA. give me your thoughts on that. As far as the District 7AA championship, well its LA's to lose. Upperman won't go down without a fight but in the end LA will win by 10.
Hume Fogg, MLK, David Lipscomb moved out to another district. The four teams in their region are going to be Greenbrier, Station Camp vs 3 and 4 in 7AA and Goodpasture and White House vs 1 and 2 in 7AA, with the matchups yet to be determined.
-
Well, it is just a funny thing that the region has been held at Watertown every other year for 10-15 years now. There have been many great teams and matchups at this tournament before now. I guess you assume things are different because Jackson is coming?? If you ask most people in your district, they will say Watertown has done an excellent job hosting this tournament.
He is telling the truth, dont be so quick to jumb to conclusions. The fire marshall wouldnt let the game start last night because there was so many people that couldnt find a seat. This was a district semi-final game. So he has a valid point in that it might not be big enough to hold all the fans that might want to come. He said nothing about the way Watertown has ran the tourney at all.
-
Yeah Clay Co got about 8-9 quick points late in the 4th or the score would have been horribly ugly. JC turned up the heat on CCHS for sure.
-
Been there...done that... I even had an Outback Steak waiting on me!!! Good luck 7a...text me when you get a chance with the scoop on this 8th grader that is so good at RBS..
Laken Leanord is the real deal.
I think the Region format needs to be changed. The NFL uses the higest seeds left play the lowest seeds left, maybe that would help from the better districts having to play good teams from their own district again in the region semi-finals.
About 4 years ago I remember Jackson Co. having to play Livingston in the region semi-finals at David Lipscomb University. It was a 1 vs 3 matchup, and JC was state champs two years in a row and going for the 3rd and they got down big to LA in this game, thanks to Andrea Davidson JC didnt lose, but it sure was a close call. Upperman was the #2 seed and with 7AA winning all 4 games in the first round, only had to play Cannon Co to get to the region finals. JC did not throw the game that year to Upperman in the district finals, and they wont do it again. It all worked out for them then, so I have a feeling it will again.
JC beat Upperman at Upperman Marissa, Courtney and Naff's senior year, barely.

Loser goes to the 'Boro while the winner must deal with Clarkrange in the Region Semifinals. You can bet this is weighing heavily on the coaches' minds of both schools. I hope neither team tries to "throw" the game, but I have seen it done before.
Question, give a example of how you knew they were doing it. What did they do to throw the game? Did they foul alot, shoot too many threes, of what? Dont say names but do give details.

If RBS wins tonight, Laken is a shoe in for the MVP the way she torched Clarkrange last night was impressive!
