  1. Last year the girls got a win over Hillwood in the McGavock tourney in the first round, which is the same draw they had this year (I think). The schedule on coacht just had them playing McGavock, but they were in that tournament. I drew a blank on the third win of the 2003-2004 season, so I will get back to you on that one.

Not one of these teams was anywhere close to a winning record

I don't remember saying any of their wins were against state contenders or even decent teams for that matter, but to those kids "a win is a win." :thumb:

  2. 8aaalum, I think this years scores (test scores not game scores) will show that Lebanon not only brought their scores up but brought them up drastically, at least that is what the papers said.

Jasmine is approved for all four years, like it or not, and nobody would even care if she didn't play basketball

Just curious as to who the "nobodies" are that wouldn't care. I think the Brandon twins might care. ;)

  3. I thought it had been taken to TSSAA, and because of some loophole in the county the girls were allowed to stay at Central, who knows. You can ask 15 different people at LHS what happened and there will be 15 different stories, and that wouldn't match the story at Central or the county office.

  4. the only teams the coach was sure about were the ones in her own classic, but the mcgavock and columbia coaches were asked last year to add lebanon to the list this year.

i apologize that wc is in disarray. i don't know the coach and i don't know the players but that was definately not the same team last night as it was a few weeks ago. good luck the rest of the season whether we meet again or not, i hate to see anyone's senior year end in shambles.

  5. dark man, you are right (kinda). of the four non-district teams you mentioned as "weak", all four were played in a tournament or classic, three of which the coach had no control over scheduling. the only team of those four that lebanon had any control over was white house.

i do agree that TOs and poor shooting have been the biggest problem (classic example last night - few TOs, great shooting). aside from those two minute details (joke) i still think the non-district schedule is harder than the other teams schedules in the district. but that's my opinion and i'll be ok if you don't agree, i think.

  6. lebanon is bigger, but not as quick...

i know i am new to this, but i have watched basketball all my life, and i don't think after seeing these two teams play twice this year that the quote above is very accurate. i did think Warren Co. did not play their best game, but after seeing what happened last night i think you will also agree that Lebanon is quick.

whwyaskwhy - those girls have won only four games, but look who they play to get ready for post season...mt. juliet, wilson central (both twice), smyrna, mcgavock...i dare say their record wouldn't have more wins and less losses if they played teams for confidence-builders like some teams do.

congratulations girls...that win was a long time coming. perfect time to start playing like that.
