I'll hold off my prediction until next year simply because Angela and Cait have never had the same type team to work with. Cait has ALWAYS had much more help than Angela. We'll see who does better on the next level.

First of all I don't think the refs made a single shot for Oneida and I know for a fact that the girls from WB were fouling because none of them were complaining except for the "All American". Oneida out-played, out-shot, and out-rebounded your girls all night long, so if you can't find anything else to complain about then I suggest you go back to "civilization" (if you are who I think you are youknow what I am talking about) and find something else to complain about.

 

p.s. The "ALL American" had 5 fouls because right before she got her 5th foul her coach told her to be careful because she had 4.

 

Just a question, how many Oneida players were in foul trouble?

Is there a better COUNTY than Anderson for girls basketball in this state? Oak Ridge is a nationally known program. Clinton High School is going to have a great season and so is Oliver Springs (Anderson County girls go there) and Anderson County High School is an awesome school for girls athletics. Does any County have it better? All 4 of these schools could make it to the state tournament except that Clinton has to go through OR!

 

I don't doubt it. I do believe they have the best referees and scorers in all of Tennessee. They need to bring them with them when they get to Murfreesboro.

 

All four could bring home a championship.

I reckon from my "inside' sources that Puleo was a non-factor in that her attitude holds her back. I know she only scored round 10pts, had 8 turnovers, and fouled out--in which case she wasn't a very good teammate at all to her fellow players. It sounds as if Martin, Philllips, and Co. did an excellent job in shutting down this SEC caliber player.

 

 

Get your facts right answer9 Puleo did have 14 points but only had two turnovers and fouled out with only four fouls[ check the book] with 7 minutes left in game. A great job by the home town refs and book keeper. With a little more depth on the Blount side the game would have a different outcome. Puleo is an All American on the court and off. Considering the circumstances around this team so far her attitude and enthusiasm for her senior year has been very good.

Who did she play aau for this past season?

South Doyle is playing the best ball at the right time. If they keep playing like this I don't know who is going to beat them... especially in this district. William Blount is a good team and if all plays out they could finish a pretty solid 2nd to South Doyle in the district. Dang, Hawn with 9 homeruns that's pretty impressive. 40yearold how many do you think he will end up with by the end of the year?

Obviously Im not from either school, but WB has no chance tonight. Even if Ryan comes out and throws bad and gives up 5 or 6 runs he will still win because SD will score 7 or 8 runs. Mark McGill is the only pitcher WB has, period. South Doyle might be the best team in the state.

 

When is WB going to ever learn to keep their mouths shut? Football season they run their mouths all year and get waxed all year and even wont play ceritan people(cough cough Alcoa) to try and keep a good record, but they still stink. Same thing in basketball, they win a couple games in a terrible district(besides Bearden) and they think theyre something and get put out in the first round of region. I can envision the same thing happening tonight at SD, WB runs their mouth, Ryan throws a good game, and the SD bats dominate.

 

Does anyone not remember that night at WB about 2 weeks ago when South Doyle had about 12 or 13 hits against WB's top 2 pitchers. Yea Im sure SD cant hit WB's pitching.....

 

 

Dang Alcoa '06 do you have a chip on your shoulder or what? Anytime there is an opportunity to bash william blount you are the first to do it. Oh, and I do believe in basketball that William Blount beat you all the first time AND should have won the second one too but Warren pulled one out of I don't know where. To say that WB needs to quit running their mouths is HILARIOUS to me. Alcoa is the horrible at running their mouths probably the worst in the county. You need to worry about your own team and leading them than getting into things that you have no say in. Well on to the game because as we know that is all that really matters. I personally wasn't there but from what I have heard Ryan pitched a heck of a game and WB played very hard and now has competed with two very good teams who they were supposed to get "dominated" by. Oh ya and before I forget I guess you will have to eat your words in saying that Mark is the only pitcher WB has when a Sophomore held the best team in the state to 4 hits with NO earned runs.

Ron Burgandy told a really funny joke today i even wrote it down in my journal. CMON Ron maybe if you would get your attention off Veronica Corningstone you might be able to see that Ryan Holland is one of the top lefty's in the state. Come watch the game tonight at SD and bring your beloved friend Baxter with you I think you will enjoy a nice game.

I mean 40yroldvirgin or whatever your name is saying that Wb should just "pray" before the game. I mean that is showing ALOT of class right there. South Doyle is a great baseball team and in my opinion should win the state and WB is a good team but they have young pitchers with limited varsity experience this year but they have potential to do some damage. There really is no reason to get on here and make statements that are derogatory toward teams or players. Let's keep it clean.

From east tn area Stewart from Oak Ridge and Puleo from William Blount should both be on first team all state for AAA.

We will be the best team in the county. Lots of people will be suprised with us this year. We are farther along right now then we ever were at any point of the season last year because we finally have a field to practice on every day. I think people will be impressed with the new field, the Alcoa administration did a great job.

William Blount defeated Heritage 75-70 which means William Blount takes the District 4AAA Championship. It was a total team effort. I don't know who had the points but I know that atleast 3 players were in double figures and one had 9 for the lady govs. Both teams played extremely hard and it was a very fun game to watch. Congradulations once again to the Lady Govs. Good luck in the region! If anyone knows the stats of who scored what please post????

Thats one game, this is not personal I dont even know Puleo and I never mentioned her name I was just making a statement know one shoots 73% from the field for a season. She must be a real good player Ive never saw her play but once, but you do the math? And stats that are kept at the scorers table in HS are usually not very correct usuallya student or a parent of one of the players and radio personnel are not real good scorekeepers. But that being said Im glad she doing good and hop they get all the W's they deserve.

 

 

What Krylon was saying was that she averages 17 to 23 shots a game not 17-23. But I am sure before she graduates she will probably have a game where she does shoot 17-23

William Blount came away with a win vs. Farragut tonight in the semi finals to advance to the Championship game thursday at 8:00. William Blount's Angela Puleo finished with 28 while Audra McBrayer had an exceptional night finishing with 25 to compliment Puleo . They will play the winner of the South Doyle Heritage game which is being played right now. It looks like it will be Heritage vs. William Blount for the ship becuase heritage is up by 12 begininng the fourth quarter. It should be a great game. Congradulations Lady Govs!

I appreciate your post. How do we know how good Cait is? Where did she play this year wile she was playing except around knoxville. Is she great because the got a schlorship to Tennessee? Pat is a great recruiter but methinks she has second thoughts about some of the recruiting she has done lately. Nothing has been said as to how Cait fits in in a structured atmosphere and whether she can handle that. Does she make her team and team mates better. She really did not play that long before she was hurt and the same thing is for KeKe. Where has she been this year? Great player but how will she fit in with the structure that it takes to be a winner.

You might criticise Clark but have you looked at her stats and her value lately. Ego aside, they should hope they can produce what she has done in a short time at Belmont and in addition be a team player while doing it. Did't mean to get on a soapbox but there is no method here and the same players mentioned are the same players mentioned the first of the season and everyone is going down the track no matter how good their season or team is. hard to define the qualifications.

 

I never once said Cait should get it this year. Did I? And you are saying Clark is doing so great this year at wherever she is playing i think Belmont but I am talking about the way she played last year not this one. I applaud her for doing good on the college level but since when does it matter what she did this year when the miss basketball I was talking about was last year?

I saw Clark from MJ play last year, and to say she is not even in the same league is just crazy. I'm not saying she deserved the award, because I didnt see enough of all 3 players, but she was a outstanding player.

 

 

 

Ok you are right Clark is a good player and to say she isn't in the same league as Cait might be a little much but Cait was obviously the better player and should have gotten the award that is all I am saying.

To me Miss basketball is very very political. For instance last year Cait McMahan was up for the award and was the OBVIOUS pick for miss basketball. Clark from Mt. Juliet ended up winning the award and she is NOT even in the same league as Cait is . Keke Stewart SHOULD win the award..Now will she...probably not but that is just the way it goes. Some people that are even being nominated for this is laughable to me.
