Howard and Brainerd win 90% if their games because of their name. Because of how ridiculous the tigers and panthers were in the 80', 90's, and up to about 2004. But then every other year they will put together a good team and then they kill teams cuz their name plus talent. But to say they are use to going undefeated in their districts is not really fair. I mean Brainerd has been in the weekest district possible and still managed to lose to wack teams. Howard have always been in a tough district but have only won 3 out of the past 5 district championships. And in 05,07, and 08 didnt go undefeated and squeaked by a district championship. But i guess have consitantly been the most winning. Matter fact Brainerd has only won like 2 in the past 5 yrs in a horrible district. But this district 6-AA i going to be absolutely sick. Brainerd Howard Tyner Red Bank Hixson Central are going to have some good games in the next few yrs.

CSAS got rocked at the TFP tourny at their place.
No one actually boxes out, which is a shame.
Walker Valley is still the best team in the area. Bar none.

well this is the worst Howard team I've EVER seen. And Chatt ball is lookin horrible this yr!! BUT Howard's always top dogs yr in and yr out usually. And it's got to the point where the game is over before it starts cuz their name. And they gotta good record so you HAVE to include them. IF my boy William Moore wouldnt have got hurt CCS would be IT! No comp. But you can say if's all day, but hopefully things get better come state cuz chatt keeps gettin emarrassed.

Upset about last year?? Could you please explain this? If you know me then go ahead and mention my name. No worry hear. I know alot about Hixson since my daughter is an alum. It's o.k. Jonathan if everyone knows who you are. Keep up the good work. Three basketball players in fights this week. What is going on Jonathan? Administration picked a doozie of a coach didn't they. Andrew and Sammy can't get in foul trouble because no one on the bench can handle CCS guards. This game may be too big for the Boyd kid. Time will tell.

We know you are going to go with Andrew everytime, Jonathan, but I think it is going to be tough for Hixson. With the big guy out and the Taylor kid out for fighting with each other and being suspended and word is the Pierce kid got into a fight with another player, don't think he was suspended, don't know why when the other two were, the odds may be against Hixson. Alot of points will have to be scored by the winning team. Did the Boyd kid play at the Thanksgiving tournament? Didn't see him. Too, too bad for the William Moore. Good player.

Moving on, The Sammy that got in a fight was another kid from Hixson not Sammy Pierce. And he got in a fight with another basketball player and he was suspended so stop pouting. I know who you are. haha
But This game is going to be awesome. I expect Cook and Hill to go at Andrew and Sammy, it's going to be intense. I'll go with Hixson being my alma mater. But it's a toss up.

You got your huge upset, lol Seq beat CCS. I think now Howard is the number 1 FOR NOW. But when they start getting beat then we can say their not, cause I don't think their going to be that good. Until William got hurt I would say CCS is number 1. But now I have to say it's going to be a toss up with hixson howard ccs marion and seq.

CCS has 2 of the best players in the city in Steve Cook and Will Moore. And one of the best shooters in Mario Hill

This is going to be such an exciting game. I'm so amped for it. William being out of the picture gives Hixson a slight edge. It's basically going to be all Cook and Hill Friday night their going to need some serious help from that big guy and some role players. But I'm going to go with Hixson, noone on CCS team is as good as Andrew Hilton. He can shoot better than Mario, handle the ball as good if not better than Cook. And Hixson has one of the most underrated underclassmen in Randy Boyd. He is immature but the kid can play. The other post for Hixson and the post for CCS match up well. They both got 2 certified stud guards and relatively new coaches. It's going to be a good game.

I am so proud of Seq. for taking advantage of the misfortune that CCS has come upon. I've always liked Seq. of all the valley teams, their hard nosed in your face defense type ball and I respect it. But if we're going to be realistic here Seq. would have very little chance of winning if William Moore would have played. Or at least alot less of a chance to win. BUT everyone can woulda shoulda coulda all night but the fact is Seq. played a heck of a game, and Got the W, that's all that matters.
And btw now that William is out I will admit that until someone takes them down Howard is #1 . But only cause CCS all-star is gone. And hopefully Willie's future can still be somewhat as bright as he planned.

AND I REPEAT ANDREW HILTON IS THE TRUTH!!! WITH SECONDS WINDING DOWN THE YOUNG Baller hit a game winning 3 after receiving some ridiculously unfair calls. He was the best player on the floor and shined. It was an intense game. Both teams relied on a couple players do everything for them. Andrew had 4 fouls in the third quarter.

Well they lost 3 seniors and all were big time players for them. They have a little size but with the new coach I think they haven't clicked completely. They have a next level player in Andrew Hilton. He's the youngest of the Hilton's. He can shoot the lights out and is very smart. Without a doubt he is their best player. They got some young talent too. They are a fast break team like last yr. How does Soddy play?? Up-tempo or what?

Lets put it this way.
The team that plays the best defense will win the district.
And about the scrimmage, I still don't care. It has no merit in the rankings.
Walker Valley beat Temple by 4, both scoring in the 90s. Temple is very very good. Why they didn't show it against Sweetwater is beyond me.
Grundy will never win enough games in this district while they run the flex. A disciplined defense will stay at home, know what's coming, and stop the UCLA cuts.
Howard is still number 1 until they lose. Like I said, I still don't care about scrimmages.
Hixson still looks to be strong as well.
Sequatchie's win over Soddy-Daisy wasn't that impressive to me. SD lost lots of depth and their big men.
Marion is the only team in the top 4 that belongs.
Lets just put everyone in a big pool.
1-4 Howard, CCS, Hixson, Marion
5-6 Sequatchie, Grundy
7-9 Bledsoe, Notre Dame and East Ridge
In any order, mostly cause I feel like it. Partly because its a good conversation starter.
SO TRUE!! Grundy has a weak offense, but their defense is pretty intense most times. And that final little group chart, is right on the money. I just wish people would realize Howard has very little chance of being number 1. CCS will not be phased by a few talented players and a bad coach. And true competitors don't mess around at scrimmages at least not 20+ points worth. Scrimmages matter to a point.

This is suppose to be our down year and even in our down year we have Howard haters! At Howard you have to atleast have a c average to play everyother school is just pass and play so you dont know what you are talking about but since you did mention that you have to be talking about last years team. So let me tell you about a kid that played on that team who didnt recieve an athletic scholarship but is at the University of Tennessee. Brandon Allen so i guess that proves your point wrong. First of which, just cause people tell it like it is, or don't think Howard is going to be that good, doesn't make them a "Howard Hater", that is the worst thing I've ever heard. Next Howard has usually always had good teams. But that is a complete lie that you HAVE to have a C average to play. If so then it must have been a HUGE coincidence that Howard was undefeated and the min they lost to Hixson last year Dominique Harper all the sudden became eligible the next day?? lol great timing for him to "bring his grades up". I believe a few yrs back Howard was turned in for a little white out grade changing if I remember correctly. But I do hope they fair well this yr we need as many chatt teams to be good as possible cuz the other parts of tn have been dominating past few yrs.

No, rehrase that. When both teams have all their players and have been practicing, then no one cares if you lose by a few points in a scrimmage. But when your varsity is getting smacked by more than 20, I think it should have some sort of reflection on how good a team is, right?? Unless ppl refuse to believe that Howard isn't going to be a good team this year. I may be wrong but I don't think so. And is Walker Valley going to be good? Cause I seen they beat CCS??

#2 thru #9, in my opininon, is a toss-up... No weak sisters this year... Top to bottom is pretty competitive..... Two new coaches in the district brings some uncertainty...
This is the last season for this current 6AA configuration.... I think that this will go down as one of the most exciting district seasons in a very long time....
Well so much for reloading . . . HOWARD LOST BY 30!! To Temple, a single A team. Not downing them cause their RAW with Sexto . . . but ya lost by 30 not number 1!! NO WAY

with Howard you never know , that school is loaded with good players that never even play for the team....they just play on the play grounds.....they will have somebody that nobody knows about and we all will be talking about it later in the year.....
Ok well I promise you, None of the guys that just play on the playgrounds can hold a candle to William Moore who is a trained athlete. I've never been a fan of Cook cause I think CCS has had little talent so the coaches just built the team around the one person who had some potential, so his numbers were always big but if he was so good and the team was centered around him . . . why weren't they successful. But either way he is a good player, so I don't believe a few playgroun players with an aweful coach is going to take these guys down. The only games Howard is going to win next yr against good teams will be because the fear of their name not their ability to win games. And I dont hate on Howard. Just tellin it how it is.

If my memory serves me correctly, Basketball09 has typically been a Hixson supporter. You probably wouldn't be the right term.
But I'll answer the you cause everyone knows who I am and I don't really care.
Howard will be the best team in the district until they are beaten. That is simple.
Returning, CCS looks to be a formidable challenger and should be a very very good basketball team but other teams return players as well and also have goals of stardom.
Woah Woah, Howard is losing EVERYBODY!! Are you all seriously saying their going to be number 1? Someone name 3 quality players they have returning ?? I can the closest one and I know all of them his name is CJ. The only person left who received significant playing time transferred to Brainerd Fred Jones who came from Hixson. CCS is going to own them. People must have forgotten bout my boy William Moore. Stephen Cook is decent and so is Mario. They gotta big guy who is ok. But Howard will playing for 2nd through 4th. And I would watch closely to see what Hixson puts together with Andrew Hilton and The big guy returning. Marion County sounds like they'll be good too.

I heard their Best Point Guard got two technincal fouls over arguing with the refs
I know the game is over and congratulations to Howard on the district championship, but if you want to see the video of the techs being called, I helped Mr. Hilton put the clip on coacht just in case anyone was curious if the techs were questionable or not. Everyone knows in my opinion that he got a little frustrated because he got two fouls called back to back, and they went to far by giving him 2 techs. But form your own opinion by watching the clips. Howard - will do a hand stand and walk to the championship. With very little competition they will destroy each team.
The upset with Brainerd leaves the other side of the bracket a jungle each night being a fight.
CCS @ McMinn Central will be a GREAT game leaving very little reason to pick a winner before the game. CCS plays hard and the two teams match up great both with key offense and defensive players.
The Brainerd @ Hixson -game will be a good game, if leading scorer Hilton was there there's no telling the outcome. It's going to be a dog fight and Hixson needs to come ready to play.
This is one of the most competitive region tournaments in the East.

So now howard has the refs in their pockets! LOL! You guys from hixson are a funny bunch. If you lost your best player thats where team comes to play and discipline. We lost Ricks in the district champ last year against ER and we lost but we still went on to the Region championship and lost but we made it to the state. Quit crying! I cant speak on the officials because I wasnt there. I tell you what the game is over and now you have to worry bout BRAINERD who is just as good as Howard. What will you do with the Panthers now. Go BRAINERD! and Who that talking bout beating those tigers? I cant argue about the game because I wasnt there but I knew the outcome. So if you want to reply I will reply with, Who has the trophy!
Are you kidding me? If you read any post about Hixson or Howard, Hixson never bad mouths Howard. They always give them the upmost respect. No one said they have the refs in their pockets, they simply fear Howard and thats obvious. And the comment of Hixson being a funny bunch means what? Because one of our best players got ejected? This coming from the same school who swore up and down that the only reason they lost to Hixson was because D. Taylor got injured. If you would have seen the techs and it was on your school you'd be singing a different tune, hopefully Hiltons father can get footage of the techs online. Like I said I gave Howard all the credit on capitalizing at these right times, and converted it into a many point play, but congrats Howard for the win!!!

I think anyone at the game, Hixson or Howard, that has any kind of knowledge of how a referee should act, will tell you this was the worst called championship game in a long time. Hixson was winning throughout the 1st period and part of the 2nd til the refs snatched it from them in one play. They called 4 fouls in 1 possession on 1 player, just so happened to be Hixson's leading scorer, Andrew Hilton. Howard did a good job of taking advantage of the lop sidedness and executed their game plan. The score does not show how close this game was.

LOLOLOL dude you are ridiculous. You always get on here and talk so much about how good Howard is and anytime somebody says even with an inch of criticism you turn the whole city into "howard haters" hahah thats the funniest thing of all time considering HOward is like chattanooga's charity case. they get tons of media for doing absolutely nothing. They get all this good treatment and you have the ignorance to call Chattanooga "howard haters" wake up lol in my entire post i was sure to give Howard and Brainerd props by saying how their tradition and talent plus their name give them dominating edge. And my comment was to correct that they rarely go undefeated in their districts. Did I make a false statement by saying that? no... so stop being ignorant and be attempt to be half open minded. And try not to be a hater yourself... I seen what you said about Tyner and the Bradley kid but if anybody from Howard even signed with a mid major D-1 team you would build a shrine to him. Just "be real" like you said one time.
