1. QUOTE(Blue and Gold @ May 25 2007 - 12:12 PM) 826466939I guess the same way it did for the Rebels this year against the Mustangs.. What was it 5 in a Row. Stock went way down.

Anyway Great year for the Mustangs We will miss the Seniors. Brandon McCormick,Cody Crocker, Colton Dill, Spencer Clifft 3 of 4 years to the state. 36-6 in 2007----108 wins in 4 years

Only there was no countdown for the Rebels to beat Huntingdon. No one gave them a chance to begin with. Were the Rebels supposed to beat Huntingdon this year? No. Were the Mustangs the favorite to win it all? Yes.

  2. QUOTE(papabear6 @ May 20 2007 - 09:42 PM) 826463763JCS doesnt have dominating pitching? and where do you come up with that idea?

Their top three starters, which are Taggart Fowler and Wood, all have ERA's under 2 I believe.

Our defenitions of "dominant" may be different, but Ill have to say theyre some pretty good pitchers.

Yeah they are good but they aren't dominate. None of them throw upper 80's and completely shut down teams. Well they may have done it this far but now everyone they play is a very good team and if Rockwood is as good a hitting team as advertised then they should have no trouble hitting these guys. Those guys you just named hit spots and make the opposing batters put the ball in play and they rely on their defense to back them up. That is definitely not a bad thing at all but again-- not dominant.

  3. If Rockwood is as good a hitting team as I have read about then they will probably win considering they play "D"...JCS doesn't have dominant pitching by any means so I suspect Rockwood will have little trouble scoring runs.. If it does so happen to come down to defense then I've got to pick JCS. They make more great plays than errors. Great defensive team.

And Wood throws about 80 or so.

If Dale Kizer from Lexington can keep his head on straight he will probably be newcomer of the year. Needs to get a litle stronger throwing, but he can flat go get it. And will probably lead the state in homeruns by guys under 5'9". He can smash it. good luck to Dale and the rest of the tigers.

Oh yes. Dale Kizer is on up there. Kid can straight up smash the ball.

  7. whats a 60??? ive heard of it but ive never done it and im gonna hav to do it soon at tryouts and id like to know wat it is and try it before i go do it while somebody is judging me any help would b apppreciated

they just time how fast you run 60 yards

  8. Is the Kee kid you talked about as you put it playing for the Tennessee Stars. If so that is a team of left overs. Kid that couldn't fine a team to play for anywere else. They won't be playing any real good teams. How about playing some Perfect Game Tournments down in Atlanta Ga. at east Cobb and see how good they are.

i really don't think you know what you are tlaking about when you say "leftovers"... the tennessee stars has some big name players on it... you should check out their website...

  9. Hey scout, are any of these players playing in Babe Ruth this year? Would any be interested in a 16u only Babe Ruth team?

could you give a little info about the team... where it is located?? h-town?? and what type of compettion they will be playing... who could i contact if i were interested????

  10. It dont matter who they throw in the championship game cause i bet they will see McKenzie in the it and drew hayes will shut them down and ..... minor will lose to the rebels of mckenzie so it dont matter holler

  11. Drew Hayes can throw consistently in the mid-eighties, and has had control problems from what i have seen of him lately.

Hold up... Drew Hayes doesnt throw in the mid eighties.... He throws consistently in the low nineties and against tougher competition throws between 92-94... Control hasnt been a problem this year either...

  12. OKAY... I have been reading through all the responses and all the information on the last 5 or 6 pages... Lets get a few things straight... J White is a very good pitcher at times but needs to develop some of his offspead pitches... Spencer Clifft throws a maximum of 85 with very little command... I have played against him and he got ripped everytime we played him... Some people are defending huntingtons pitching----if powell is the number 3 guy, huntingtons pitching is in big trouble... He throws an easy, straight fastball and doesnt throw hardly anything else... If Clifft can get his control down he can be a really good pitcher... Spellings is a good player... hes not magnificent... Mckenzie has more than just Hayes... they have developed some more guys in there and only lost 2 seniors last year... With the rivarly between huntington and mckenzie, the matchups this season will be very good... I think mckenzie will win because they have the better overall team... We'll see how good they really are when they play in the Jackson or Lexington tournament in which teams from all over the state will be... Panthofer and White have streaks of brightness but both struggle with consistency sometimes... White better than Panthofer though...

  13. Drew Brown from Mckenzie---- a very good defensive catcher- not the strongest arm but has good footwork and quick hands. Started as a freshman midway through the season after receiving an oppurtunity to play. As a freshman had no trouble catching Drew Hayes (92 mph). He also had good hitting statistics. Batted over 300... Most of all, he was clutch, delivering the hits at the most needy times.
