  1. No but it should be!!!

I agree it should be. But I am sure that there would be no way possible for a city the size of Memphis to be able to have an ambulance at every high school football game and have enough for emergencies else where.

I sure hope this young man will be ok. Does anyone have an update on him?

  2. It depends on which QB plays for Father Ryan. If QB #12 is healthy and starts and plays THE WHOLE GAME without this duel qb BS, then the Irish pull it out. If QB #7 for FR plays than LUSSIER SHALL DIE.

Having dual QB's can work wonders if the coach knows how to use them. Look at Flordia. It sure is working for them right now. There are also some high school coaches that have used dual QB's. If I'm not mistaken, Maryville has two QB's that played in a rotation last year and again this year. One being a better passer and the other a better runner. If it is not Maryville, then it is another Knoxville "area" team. But if it is Maryville, well, how many championships do they have?

  3. Ravenwood game, as well. Also, Tyree runs like a hungry dog when he gets the chance.

I read the article on CoachT about the BA game. I think Ford is one of the most exciting running backs to play the game at the high school level. A friend said that he was the starter the past two years but was moved to defense when Jordan moved in. It now sounds like BA might be getting their old backfield back, well most of it anyways. Keep us posted on Jordan's injury. He is a great RB with a bright future and hopefully, his injury is minor.

Has Ford had any offers to play college ball? I know he is small, but man can that kid move.

  4. Now back to the game...

I realized that Baylor was doing a good job of ball control the first half, but I did not realize until it was reported on the news that McCallie only ran 8 plays the first half. And had 3 tDs in those 8 plays. That is quite a stat. I have said it several times and I still believe that in order to beat McCallie, someone is going to have to put a bunch of points on the board. I do not see anyone with an offense that can keep up with McCallie.

On another note, BJ Coleman is awfully good but Dozier and Bradford certainly make him even better. Not a slap at BJ, I am just saying that they have some special talent, in addition to BJ, on this team.

Can you believe the time of possession for Baylor in the first half. That is unbelievable, but hey, McCallie only needs a second or two to score. You are right, about the receivers. When a QB has a supporting cast like Coleman does, it sure helps, but your receivers also have to have a QB that can make the reads, and get the ball to them.

  5. BJ Coleman is a great QB. What is his passing average? 250 yards per game. Incredible!

As for Potter leaving to go to BA. There is no way. I believe the poster that is stirring this up must be a BA fan. He knows that if he gets McCallie worried about losing their coach, that maybe then BA would be able to win the state championship. I have seen BA play twice this year and they just "Flatt" out, get out coached.

  6. What will they do if more then 6 teams have 5 wins? I can't remember if this has ever happened since the split. Would they keep it at six and use strength of schedule or use something else to determine who the top six qualifiers would be? I really think that things will work themselves out, but you never know.

  7. With that being said. I believe MUS has the mental edge going into this game but does not match up talent wise which MUS usually doesnt =). Park will need to have an outstanding game to give the owls the chance to win I agree. However I do not believe the Owls will win this game "easily" in any situation unless of course BA has a turnover fest like the MUS vs Baylor game in 2004. MUS will have to stop two very good and strong backs. They were unable to stop Baylor's bruising back. Which you can disagree all you want Ataglance but Baylor was more physical period that is why they won the game. They played smashmouth football which is exactly what BA does. Now that being said if the owls can put it to BA's running attack then it could be a very long night for BA's offense. Also you have to factor in the travel distance MUS has to face. You cant bet a win or loss on it but it does make a difference. All of these factors will play a legitimate role in a football game that will run high in emotions where both teams fight hard for the win imo.

MUS better watch out for both Jordan and Ford. Two very different types of runners. Baylor was able to hold Jordan pretty much in check but when Ford came in it was a different ball game.

  8. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that Father Ryan hasn't beaten MBA since 1997. It seems like Father Ryan has reestablished some of their attitude from that '97 championship year. This year should be a great contest with the game having more meaning than in recent years.

It looks like both teams have some tough games ahead. Both need this one bad. I guess we will see who wants it the most.

  9. Exciting game. BJ had big numbers, over 300 yards passing, and no interceptions. Just came up a little short.

Alcoa has several great players, which I am sure will be playing in DI,(college that is) over the next few years. What year is the Sommers kid?

Both teams are very well coached. McCallie will bounce back and win it all in DIIAAA and Alcoa will take it in 2A.

  10. I say Alcoa's D-line will be the difference in this game. If Rae Sykes and company can get pressure on B.J. Coleman and make him make some bad decisions Alcoa will win this game.

Alcoa has some great players, but Coleman can handle the pressure.

  11. (Quote from fan6) "I really like D. Bledsoe (great kid), but do you really think he brings more to the table? I thought one of the key differences in the game were the McCallie receivers. Colman is the real deal, but he had some guys making him look even better than he would have by making some great grabs. I don't know if they missed any "catchable" balls all night while BA did."

I went to the game Friday night with a buddy who saw Bledsoe play against McCallie last year in the playoffs. He said that Caffee is bigger but that Bledsoe has a cool head and doesn't get rattled under the gun, as does Caffee. He said that Bledsoe seems to have more of a "head" for QB then Caffee. He says that he will set back in the pocket and find his open receivers. He also said that he remembers him having a "pretty darn good arm". Didn't he beat McCallie in the playoffs? And if my memory serves me correct, it was said on Coacht that Caffe struggled with pressure last year in Texas and that is why he was in a rotation at QB.

  12. congrats on a good win...no i really mean that...beating MUS is good...we also beat a good Brentwood team 28-21...and if i remember correctly ya'll lost to Brentwood...hopefully ya'll have gotten better since then....congrats to Baylor for beating MUS...we'll see you on the 29th

I'm sure that the win against MUS will be a big confidence booster for Baylor. The game between Baylor and McCallie will be a great one. McCallie must remember that Baylor totally shut down BA's passing attack. I believe their QB was 3 for 9 that game. Can't wait for this one.

  13. McCallie has a very good and exciting team. Coleman is as smooth a high school QB as I have ever seen. He just makes things happen. #9 Bradford really does it all. Small but is all over the place. The D did a good job of putting pressure on Caffe. I saw the same thing last night as I did against Baylor. He can not handle the pressure, just not good about making the right decision when the pressure is on. Yes, he can throw the ball when no one is coming after him, but Garrett made some big time catches to keep BA hanging on. One catch was a one handed catch that was unbelievable. Has Garrett had any offers from D1 schools? I think that Garrett and #93 could play D1 next fall but anyone else looks to maybe go small school.
