Same story different outcome tonight as dirty play was the rule and there were at least 3 intentional fouls before the one that was finally called on attempted dunks by Trey. Stewart County took the butt kicking they had coming until about halfway through the 3rd quarter when they just gave up. I thought their subs did an admirable job and Harpeth let up off the throttle as much as they could with a 35 point lead. All 15 played. Most of them scored. 18 for Caruthers, 12 for McMullin, 10 for Horkins and Dansby. Taylor for SC had 10 for them.

 

Harpeth's defensive pressure was the difference in the game.

I DISAGREE WITH THE DIRTY PLAY COMMENT. HARPETH DID WHATEVER THEY WANTED TONIGHT, BUT THEY DID NOT ON SC BECAUSE OF PRIDE, NOT DIRTY PLAY. THEY TRIED TO FOUL EARLY BUT TREY WAS JUST WAY TO FAST.IF THEY WERE DIRTY THE COULD HAVE CUT HIM ON ANY OF THE ATTEMPTS, BUT THEY DID NOT. HARPETH WAS THE BETTER TEAM LETS AVOID THE DIRTY PLAY TALK.

Like I said I did not remember the 98 game that well for some reason...Was it at HC or SC? the 99 game I do remember and I do remember that play now that you mention it....but SC got beat by ten and pretty sure that SC scored pretty late in the 4th to get it to that score.....When the game was no longer in real question...

hc was shut out in the 2nd half. sc scored 16 unanswered and had 2 chances late to win. the game was never out of hand, until the final horn.

1998 sc won 19-0 at hc. 1999 hc won 26-16 at hc, they did show up in black and is was a dog fight. but they did not win handily. re check the history before you pat yourself on the back.

oh i almost forgot, in that handily win in 99. hc ran a 65 yard qb sneak at the end of the half for one of their scores. the sc players thought he was down they were trying to kill the clock. they never blew the whistle. not making excuses for the loss, just making sure you get the history correct

I am a fan of the area and have been to this game all but once in the past ten years...And the game that I missed...was really the only "game" in the past ten years..The game in 06. I know plenty of people from both areas, and have my opinion of both teams.... Not only do I usually attend this game..In the past ten years i have made it to atleast one other of each of these teams games as well...So to say I know nothing about the programs/history of the rival...you are wrong....98 dont really remember much about that game...both teams were pretty bad.Sc won...99 HC was pretty good under watkins and won handly...00 HC won by alot (Not sure which year it was 99 or 00, but I think the story goes in 99 the game was in Dover and HC showed 3 minutes prior to kick off.... Beat the crap out of SC...Got on the bus and at the county line had a brick fly through the bus window....00 I believe was at HC when at halftime swafford.....took his players in HC old gym and messed up the gym floor with their cleats.....The end of the game Watkins and Swafford had to be retained because a fight was about to break out....HC fans returned the brick favor at the county line ....01...Was the second best game in the last ten years....A yound HC team (with like 6 9th grade defensive starters or something like that ) came to SC and won pretty convincently...with SC scoring late to make it more respectable looking....02...Both teams were bad, but HC came in and beat SC pretty good....03...HC was good....Probably better than either of SC teams this year or last year)...Although they only finished 6-6, they played a much much tougher schedule and started 0-4 under their new coach that they got just months before the season started...with the only two defeats coming after that coming from David Liscomb(2nd team in the state and Goodpasture(with Pat Turner....who was the 2nd best rated player in the nation that year and signed with USC)also the game with GP was a very close contest with GP scoring in the final five minutes to make it an 11 point victory(was at that game)...., beat SC like a drum at HC.....A fight broke out during the late part of the game...Also this was holliday first year (I believe...or it may of been 04....but which ever he came out in the paper saying some cocky things about beating HC, but not being able to call them by thier names, but calling them the team over there(or something like that))...04 Hc was up 34 to 0 at the half and took the starters out to not play another down(maybe thats where Holliday should take notes) ....the game ended up with HC winning by like 12.....05 HC was bad.....0-10....SC was not very good either but won pretty easily....06 both teams were bad.....HC won a pretty close game.....07 SC was decent, with a cupcake schedule to pad the record...won pretty easily.....08 Again with the cupcake schedule....won pretty easily and ran up the score against a bad HC team....

Are you freakin kidding me? The best team last night won last night...and that's all that matters. I guess SC could say that about the night you guys beat them. They turned around and then stomped H'Town...the team that stomped you guys last night. So I guess SC must be the better team then? Logic much?

Ask Richland what? They way I remember it being is Camden thinking the second round playoff game was going to be a cupcake game agaisnt a team that they man handled in September but they barely escaped with a late touchdown win. As far as "dirty" play going on I cant recall. Just alot of pride and heart showed and maybe somebody's pride got hurt when they didnt blow out a team they underestimated. Why do you have a personal grudge vs. Richland? Did you take Camden in a bet and somebody got brave and took Richland and the points? Im sorry man, it will all be ok... Just keep posting negative things about Richland every time you mention them and one day you will find peace in your heart and soul. If not- get counsling cuz...

Let me try to explain this one last time. The players from Gleason, Greenfield, and Waverly all said that SC players were cursing, twisting ankles, digging their fists into the opponents ribs, and hitting them in the privates. You can't honestly tell me that is not dirty. Also, none of these players have said these things about any of their other opponents. I wonder why?

If tougher teams are consist of Boliver, that that is pretty weak. They came to the Lewis Harris tournament and could not win a game. Good arms, but no pitcher. Came up to field with shirts untucked, hats on backwards, walked on and off the field.

C.W. has been overlooked all year as far as the top is considered. Because until this year they have never won a regional game. Bolivar is tremendous. CW is playing well right now and has a better chance than anyone else from our district to beat Bolivar since they are the only one left. The thing about CW is they have a different player step up every game, in order to beat Bolivar EVERYONE has to step up. Until this year cw has never won a regional game, never played in a sectional game, never beat Bolivar. Never say Never.

Yes, those were the two I put on there, #20 is Leonard, #1 is Vogel. I believe STaggs is one I had thought about and Dempsey is the one I had a number for but not a name from Sycamore. And I can't disagree with Tyler Caruthers either.

 

I left the Taylor kid off because the two games I saw him play he didn't impress me. Yes, he is tall and can shoot some, block shots of kids 6 inches shorter, but he hasn't shown me that he is an impact player. Good player yes, but not impact. I also disagree for the reason SC has a chance for #4. I think that is Coach Craig. He can get the most out of any ball player he has ever coached and he has for SC.

SC IS 2-0 VS WAVERLY THIS YEAR AND THE TAYLOR KID IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WHY.DEFENSE, POINT PRODUCTION , AND REBOUNDING ETC.SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STATS INVOLVING BBALL. BUT I CAN SEE WHY HE DID NOT IMPRESS YOU AND WHY YOU LEFT HIM OFF YOUR LIST. I HOPE YOU DONT GET TO VOTE!
