  1. who said that marion had it in the bag???? I think all that has really been said is that the championship runs through marion...........that isn't saying that Marion has it in the bag, just saying that when you win the district x number of times, then you have to beat marion to be the district champs. Looks like it is shaping up that way now.........if Seq sweeps marion they are the champs, and if mc splits they are the champs, right??? I expect two good games next week even if I have talked on here and if by the grace of God, seq somehow wins, I will be on here offering congrats to the squatch.............. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> .................but they will have to do it again in the tourney!!

The games this week between SC and Jasper will be fun to watch and will set things up for the tournament. You are right whoever comes out on top this week will have to do it again when it matters.

  2. Don't get to worked up Indian, /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> that's how Jasper starts stuff and if we reply, they accuse us of running our mouth. Any way, after this year they will have nothing to talk about and they know it. And there will be no state this year Jasper, or next. Sequatchie has just as much talent or more than Jasper, the one difference is Jasper has had a good coach for several years and Seq has not: until now. For that reason we are at least 2 years behind most good teams, but the funny thing is we still have a shot at beating you guys, at least once.

Jasper is running their mouths because they know whats coming. They won't have anything to say in a few weeks. They will be very lucky to split with SC.

  3. lets here it, Squatch............ a day after marion exploded late and dismantled the wildcats, the injuns get beat at home???? Wow............guess you guys will have to sweep Marion now to win the district!! INJUNS are quite, must be in their tee pees!!!

We planned on sweeping Jasper anyway.

  4. The boys at Marion & Sequatchie have developed a rivalry through Dizzy Dean, Middle School and now High School. They know each other very well and the next couple of years should be very exciting between the two. Marion has an advantage because their juniors and seniors have been well coached the last two years while the Sequatchie juniors & seniors have really not been coached at all. Sequatchie has a new coach that is working them real hard but they have to overcome the last two years. Sequatchie has an advantage because all of the core juniors and seniors are still playing baseball while several of Marion's players have quit to concentrate on other sports. The season starts next week, we'll see soon enough.

  5. hahahahaha... it'll never happen. muir and guyear are too much at marion. warriors will take it... again.

Muir and Guyear are very good ballplayers and Marion has more than those two but we'll see who's laughing soon enough. Marion will have all they can handle from Sequatchie. Whoever wins the valley side of the district should win the district overall.

  6. Until seq does something one year I'll never expect anything from em. talk is about all they're good for... Period

The boys from Sequatchie that have done something in the past are finally the heart of the team, the valley side of the district will be between SC and Jasper. The boys from both schools have been heated rivals for years and they know each other well, should be exciting when they match up. The Chattanooga side of the district should be Chattanooga Christian followed by Hixson. SC's new coach is working them very hard, they will improve as the season progresses. Warning!!! Watch out for the Indians come tournament time!!!

  7. Make sure you ask questions about academics and find out the teams rate of retention on incoming freshman. Some coaches will talk a good game about how they keep watch over their teams academic progress but from experience I know that all of them don't.

  8. You can teach them to play the game but that doesn't mean they will play it when they take the court.. trust me we know!! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Then you replace them with kids that will play the game right. After a game or two they will come around or they will sit. You can do that and never scream once.

  9. your right once again, but that guy isn't there now.

That guy isn't there now, he needs to quit screaming at the kids and start coaching them. It is shameful that the coach will go 10 feet out on the floor to scream at an inexperienced kid when he makes a mistake. The kid and everyone in the gymn knew he made a mistake but the coach had to embarrass him further by going on the floor and screaming at him. The referees should have called a technical for him being on the floor. He drains all the confidence out of his team with his huge mouth. If he can't change his ways he needs to step aside and let someone else "teach" those kids how to play the game.

  10. You are exactly right scduke, they are not team oriented, they lack discipline, and have way too many egos. This team has under achieved all year. There's no way they should have lost to Bledsoe.

Unfortunately that's the way it always is with the SC boys team, year after year they have talent but they always play selfishly and underachieve. Someone needs to teach them how to play the game.

  11. Marion Co is the team to beat in the valley side of the district but Sequatchie Co has the talent to beat them. The new coach is working them hard and trying to set the kids straight after 2 years of little to no coaching. The SC team will have no fear of MC since they had success against them in middle school. SC has a very difficult schedule and will be much improved even if record doesn't show it. The MC players and knowledgable fans know that SC shouldn't be taken lightly the next 2 years.

  12. Once again the Indians showed how undisciplined they are, taking wild shots and driving to the basket when outnumbered when they should have been running out the clock. I guess it is hard to concentrate when your coach screams at you constantly but never takes action. The Indians would benefit from a brush up on the fundamentals like passing to the open man or playing defense. The record for the season doesn't reflect the talent the Indians have.

  13. Bledsoe won it by two, 64-62, after a wild last couple of minutes. Bledsoe led 18-15 after one quarter, Sequatchie appeared a little lackadaisical but picked it up in the second quarter, 15-5 for a 30-23 halftime lead.

Bledsoe never quit and trailed by only 4-6 through most of the third quarter. Seq's D Cartwright had a nice shot in the lane to close the quarter, 43-36. Seq's Cordell made 2-2 FT early in the fourth, 49-40 but he fouled out shortly after that. Two of his fouls were pretty rotten calls, even a couple of Bledsoe people after the game agreed. Seq still maintained the lead, 58-51 with 3:30 left with 2 D Cartwright FT. Five point lead with 2:30 to go and Seq's Kiper fouls out on a charge call. The refs had to discuss it before deciding it was a foul and other such plays had been called blocking prior to that, for both teams, so it was a tough one to take at a critical time in the game.

Seq still led 60-55 with 1:20 left then the wheels came off. In the last 2 or 3 minutes Seq didn't take as much time off the clock as the coach wanted and Bledsoe hit a 3, two-point game, Sequatchie's B Cartwright hit 2-2 FT, 62-58 with 50 seconds left. Bledsoe made a quick shot, 62-60, and after nearly turning it over, Sequatchie had an open player under the basket for an easy 2 but he was called for traveling. Bledsoe got the ball down the floor and a player drove to the basket, he hit the shot and Sequatchie was called for the foul, 63-62 Bledsoe after the FT. Seq missed the shot and fouled Bledsoe with 1.5 seconds left. Bledsoe made 1-2, 64-62, and Seq's Kilgore nearly had a Sportcenter highlight as a halfcourt three-point attempt hit the backboard and then bounced off the front of the rim before missing.

Seq's Kiper, Cordell, B Cartwright and D Cartwright each scored in double figures. The refs did not help things but Seq still had a chance to close out the game and couldn't finish it. Give credit to Bledsoe for fighting back late.

  14. :thumb:

Well flower boy(fcd-163) I told you if we won I would get back on here and tell you. Well I am telling you. And in reply to the earlier post, Your boys could not help missing them there balls for they were hit too hard. Grundy will take the Valley this year. Just watch and see. And, oh yeah MCwarrior, do you smell that. You probably dont because all you Jasper folks noses are missed up from smelling those skunks down there all the time. There has got to be more skunks in jasper than any where else.

Grundy, Bledsoe contending for the championship of the valley, give me a break. Since when have you ever contended? It will be between the same 2 teams that it has always been between, SC and Jasper. Jasper only has a chance if they can go out and recruit a few pitchers like they have in the past.
