  1. BGA and it's really not close when you consider the following:

    Playing surface

    concession stand

    indoor hitting & pitching facility

bleachers & sight lines for fans

    bullpins

    clubhouse

Thats really nothing too special, Brentwood has all of that except the indoor batting facility. Brentwood's field also won the State "Field of Dreams" award in 2001. Brentwood has one of the best fields in middle Tennessee if not the entire state

  2. It sounds loke you were in attendance at this game. The strike zone was very tight both ways causing more walks than there should have been----both ways. Many of the errors made by Brentwood were on very hard hit balls. Late in the game Brentwood leading 10-8, A.C. freshman belts a 3run HR to put AC on top. I don't belive there was a miscue on that play. AC also had a perfect bunt with 2 on and nobody out in the last inning to load the bases. So that last walk just made the inevitable happen quicker. Don't make too many excuses for losing, and give credit where it is due.

I was there, and the strike zone being tight is no excuse for walking so many batters, u have to adjust to the ump... that is true with every game. There is no credit due when AC got 8 of their 12 runs as unearned runs and in the second inning scored 6 runs while gathering no hits, Brentwood just had way too much go wrong that game but clearly are a better team on a game to game basis

  3. Anderson County come out week, but is now coming on strong, they went to the sportsbell classic and went 3-2 and they beat brentwood and william blount, they were also smaller than most of the schools in it. If they put their minds to it, they can easily go state this year.

Brentwood in that game had 8 errors and the pitcher who was brought in to relieve at the end walked 5 guys, including the winning run. Brentwood didnt play well at all and clearly outhit AC, but with baseball comes eroors and bad games.

  4. Not to take anything away from Lowder, he is a really good player. The thing I have a problem with is the way his coaches keep him in the game when beating the other team by many points just to get his numbers up. I think that is pathetic.

That is not earning your reputation. That is just brow beating a less fortunate team. How can you be proud of that???

It is easy to be proud of it, hes amazing... plus it isnt brow beating...Brentwood coaches shouldnt have to put lesser players on the field just because the other team stinks.

  5. Brentwood won again today against Independence 10-0 making them 3-0 in the district and 5-2 overall... in the first 7 games the Bruins have scored 56 runs and have 2 pitchers with 0.00 ERAs. Brentwood travels to Knoxville later in the week for a tournament based at Farragut High School and the University of Tennessee.

  6. In their last meet, the Brentwood mens distance runners took 1, 2, and 3 in the 1600. Tom Divinnie led the bruins to the win in 4:35 seconds. Sophomore Sean Kevren wasnt far behind at 4:38 and Junior Hunter Hall crossed the like about 15 seconds later to give the bruins a clean sweep. After the mile race, the 3 Brentwood runners went on a 5 mile run down Franklin road between races then returned to win the 4x800.... these guys cant be stopped and it will be fun to watch their trip up the ladder to state

  7. They may be young, but a long of the younger players are stepping up and helping out. Matt McGee (sophomore) already has 2 homers in 5 games to help lead the team in hitting, and Freshman Andy Hillis will also help contribute on the mound.

  8. Watched Hillsboro beat Franklin 5-4 Wednesday afternoon. Todd Barnett of the Burros was masterful on the bump and executed a suicide squeeze to perfection. His battery mate, Josh Dunn, put on a blocking & framing clinic behind the plate as did Casey Dykes of Franklin. Not gonna see much better high school catching than I did yesterday. The Rebels still have the big bats from 1 thru 9 but don't appear to have quite the pitching they did last year on their way to State. Looks the 11-AAA race is wide open this year.

I have seen Todd Barnett pitch the past 2 years and he is one of the better pitchers in the district. All he needs is a semi-decent defence behind him.

  9. Brentwood didnt look like a very good district contendr for there distict this yeat... I watched them play Smyrna this weekend in the Grand Slam Challenge and Smyrna just dominated... they beat Brentwood 7-2... but thats not bad saying that Smyrna has been crushing the ball this season and has only made like 2 errors.. they have had I think 50 hit in 5 games... What district is Brentwood in???

Brentwood wasnt exactly dominated... the starting pitcher gave up 6 runs in the first 2 innings. In the second inning Jr Kevin Elkins was brought in with no out and runners on 1st and 3rd... Smyrna only scored one run the rest of the game off of an error.

  10. After losing a lot of key players last year the Bruins were expected to have an off year... after the first 2 games they find themselves at 2-0 and having scored 24 runs and hitting 4 home runs.... could there be a suprise waiting to happen?
