1. QUOTE(The Final Chapter @ May 2 2007 - 12:28 PM) 826450113Region 2 AA has a history of strength...mainly because of Gibbs. However District 4 had its own state champion just three years ago with Lenoir City. This team was led by Sarah Vaughn, one of the best players to ever come out of the KIL. I believe at least 7 (maybe more) state championships have come out of Region 2 in the past 20 years....I pretty sure 6+ are from Gibbs....not to shabby for a bunch of East Tennessee players. As for Stone, I watched them play early in the season...and they are solid. But there are some pretty good teams they will have to face in District 4. CAK, because of pitching, may pose the biggest threat, but Stone should get out easily in the top 2. Depending on how District 3 shakes out, you will likely see either Gibbs or Seymour and either should give you all you want, but if you advance and don't finish 1st in Region...I am sure you will run into Unicoi County in sub-state...and they are always tough. IF you get to state.....you get rewarded by playing 5 time defending state champion (the last in AA) Goodpasture at some point, so get ready for a tough road....AA is no cake walk!

Unicoi is very tough this year when they come to play but they have a hard time getting their players to care this year but they should still go far.

  2. Erwin will play Science Hill tomorrow at 7:00 at Lady Devil Diamond. They will play Sullivan North more then likely Friday at home starting at 5. Good luck ladies, remember you have a promise to keep.

  3. The Lady Devils have played really well these past few weeks and are looking strong going into the final weeks of the season. Erwin Came out victorious against Morristown East last night 3-0. Leah Love had the win. The Ladies will Host Johnson County tonight and also have senior night for the 6 seniors. Thursday they will travel to Elizabethton to face the cyclones and Friday the Devils regular season comes to a close against Alexander Central at home. Goodluck Ladies Keep up the good work.

  4. Unicoi County played Mt. Juliet for their first game and lost I’m not sure what the score was though. They play Stone Memorial for their 2nd game and really showed what they had and won 6-2. Riverdale was their third game and they lost 6-0. They then played Munford in the first round of the tournament and lost 7-5. They umpire made a horrible call causing the tying run to score. Munford then came back to score two more runs but I really think Erwin had a big chance of winning. They had to put a 3rd string catcher in after Lauren Hopson hurt her back Friday and Whitley Hensley broke her hand hitting. They really played well all around; they just faced really hard teams. The only things I have to complain about are the unfriendly parents and rude teams. When Whitley got hit in the hand Riverdale parents were making rude comments and calling her a "Cry baby" That is the 3rd time she has broke her hand and she still keep hitting. Some of the other team's girls were very rude and unfriendly but other than that it was a good tournament and a fabulous experience for the girls.

  6. QUOTE(etowntrack21 @ Mar 12 2007 - 10:49 PM) 826409753sure did who did u all play hampton or somebody like that

Even though etowntrack may be annoying I think it's pretty rad that he is supporting a different sport...You sure don't have that kind of support in spring sports where i'm from.

  7. What can I possibly say about the past four years? Better yet, how can I find the right words to accurately describe what these years have meant to me when everything I think of only seems to fall short? I have loved every second of these four years. Even though I would become frustrated at times, we all know there was never a place on Earth that I would have rather been. Nothing can ever replace the Lady Devils softball program, at least not in my heart. Four years ago I had a coach that saw something in me, and for whatever reason, he gave me a chance. Because he gave me an oppurtunity to play, I somehow fell in love with this game. My life was changed forever.

Basically, I want to thank my teammates, the parents who believed in me, the coaches, and everyone else who came to support not only me, but the team as a whole. You have all become like family to me, and I will never forget each of you. For those of you who did, I want to especially thank you who stood up for us on these message boards. There were few things that bothered me more than to see someone blast the program publically on here. Sometimes people don't realize that they may not know exactly what they are talking about, and yet they continue to say things without true knowledge of the circumstance. We are all human, I realize. Sometimes I just wish people would think before they speak. I suppose that society, as a whole, would be better off if we did that.

This season I tried my best to lead this team in a way that they would learn to respect the game, the players, and everything else that goes with it. This season I realized more than ever how quickly it goes by. As an underclassman, you don't really see things the way a senior does. It's different when you are looking at the end...as it is right in front of you. We should all learn to take nothing for granted. Anything could happen at any given moment. You never know when your last day playing, or even living, could be. I hope and pray I was able to pass these ideas on to the other members of the Lady Devils. If for nothing else, I hope they remember me for taking nothing for granted, not a single second, and then try to do the same themselves. No matter what the case may be, Devils, DON'T GIVE UP. DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP!

We had a good run this year. I don't regret a single thing. We may have fallen short of our goal this season, but that is overshadowed by so many good things. Players and fans, try to remember those moments...the Williamsport, PA game in Summerville, SC...the come-from-behind win over Johnson County...the 2-0 victory over Elizabethton on senior night (one I won't soon forget)...defeating Johnson County after they beat us 1-0 two days before...beating Elizabethton twice in one day...coming from behind in the 8th inning for that second victory...and carrying on the tradition of not only coming out on top of the conference, but also being district and regional champions. I will never forget any of it.

Thank you all...blue devils and those I have played against for four years...for the memories.

You truly will be missed! Good Luck at King, love ya, kid

  8. Sftball Fever - If you are who I think you are, you probably need to find out! Ha-Ha :thumb::lol:

    Good Luck!

Don't just be proud - be thankful!

lol so just who exactly do you think I am? Just curious.

  9. FROM WHAT I HEAR, THAT WASN'T THE CASE AT RUTLEDGE LAST YEAR. I'M TOLD THAT THE UNICOI FANS WERE UPSET BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T PARK AROUND THE OUTFIELD FENCE TO "INTERFERE" WITH THE GAME. YOU MUST HAVE BEEN SOMEWHERE BESIDES BEHIND THE BACKSTOP. I DON'T THINK THE COMMENTS TO THE CATCHER HAD TO DO WITH THE FENCE. UNICOI DIDN'T EARN EITHER OF THEIR RUNS. THEY WERE SCORED ON ERRORS. THE UNICOI GIRLS PLAYED WELL. HOPEFULLY THEY AND RUTLEDGE WILL GET TO PLAY ON A TRULY IMPARTIAL FIELD IN MURFREESBORO IN THE STATE. GOOD LUCK TO THE LADY BLUE DEVILS AS WELL. FANS STAY HOME!

A good team makes few errors and they come back from them when they are made. Unicoi had errors as well but they fought back and got out of the inning, the made up for it with theirs bats.

  10. Good job to the Lady Blue Devils.... They won against a good Rutledge team 2-1.... Now lets get ready for Alcoa.... Good luck and take it all the way.... :o

Alcoa vs. Unicoi game has been changed to tonight at 5:00. GOOD LUCK LADY BLUE AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN OVER RULTEDGE!

  11. RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT. SORRY! I FORGOT THERE FOR A MOMENT THAT ONLY "SELECT" SCHOOLS AND TEAMS HAVE PROBLEMS AT UNICO. IT'S ONLY SELECT TEAMS THAT GET THE "FENCE" HARASSMENT. SEEMS TO ME LIKE I'VE HEARD OTHER TEAMS MAKE THE SAME COMPLAINTS. I GUESS THE FAN BEHIND THE BACKSTOP WAS FROM OVER HERE IN CLAIBORNE COUNTY WHO JUST DROVE UP TO SEE THE GAME AND GET INVOLVED. IT MUST BE A MISERABLE THING TO BE DISLIKED BY SO MANY PEOPLE IN EAST TENNESSEE. I GUESS THAT GETS OLD AS WELL, SO I'LL JUST STOP RIGHT HERE AND NOT ADD TO YOUR MISERY. CONSIDER YOURSELF "AGITATED".

The guy that was "harassing" the catcher is from Unicoi, he doesn't come to very many games. I wouldn't call what he said harrasment though. Get over your loss and stop blaming the umpires and fans for it. I thought that was what we did in Little League when we lost not in high school......The Alcoa vs. Unicoi is changed to tonight at 5:00

  12. I'm betting Unicoi in five!

I'm sure you will make Upper East Tennesss proud!

Erwin beat Rutledge 2-1. Katherine Harris had an awesome game with 2 incredible outs in right field. She did a wonderful job hitting as well, I think she was 3 for 3 I do know she drove in the go ahead run.

  13. Does Gibbs and Alcoa play on Wed.... And what about Unicoi and Rutledge.... Should be some good games going on.... Who picks who....

Unicoi beat Rutledge 2-1. Katherine Harris had two key defensive plays for Erwin;she drove in the go ahead run as well.
