  1. Yes both boys and girls soccer have two divisions just like football. D2 A and D2 AA. AA is the large division where teams such as Baylor, GPS, Webb, etc play in.

Jackson Christian School announced today that they will be playing in Division 2 next year. In Girl's soccer, do all D2 teams compete for one state title? or is there a small school division for girl's soccer as there is for football?

  2. This should be an outstanding game. I will be driving up to the game and I expect a defensive game without alot of scoring. I don't know alot about Riverdale except that they are undefeated and I believe alot is expected of them this year. The Red Raiders too are undefeated and have passed several huge tests so far. This will be another big test without a doubt.

    Baylor 2

    Riverdale 0

  3. Congratulations Cree....that is great news. I am sure alot of hard work and time has gone into this. I hope to get to see a game there sometime. Good luck.

For anyone in the Athens area on Thursday. McMinn County will be opening its brand new soccer complex this Thursday. It is located on 204 McMinn Avenue--approx 2 miles from the MCHS campus.

So please come out at 5:30 and see our new complex. Not everything is quite complete--no lights and scoreboard just yet--but we are very proud of the work we have done and would like everyone to see it.

  4. When is the game? I have not seen either team but from what I have read it should be a great game. Congratulations to Soddy on their big win.

I've not seen Cleveland play this year and wanted to get some posters thoghts about the game.

It should be a good one.

  5. We all have that sick feeling this morning no doubt. Another local player that "did" have an outstanding night was #45 fullback Kevin Cooper. Sophomore from Baylor School. Did an outstanding job of blocking and caught all passes thrown to him as was mentioned alot. But no excuse for losing this game.

Gee you are right, maybe the problem is there are to many local tennessee kids on the team this year.

If if they don't change the head coach we will see just more of the same. B Warren and Rogan looked outstanding as well and a few others from TN HS's that I can't name right now. Mismanagement of the game plan and those kids were not ready. You keep your tickets, I let mine go this year as well.

  6. SoccerDaughters I do not believe what I said disrespected Bearden in anyway. However, if you took it that way I am sorry. Both Baylor and Bearden are very hyped teams this year. The game will hopefully be a great one for sure. Just as you are a Bearden player or fan I am sure that you are very proud of their tradiition just as I am proud of Baylor's tradition. I am looking forward to a great matchup between two very proud programs.

The only hype I hear about Baylor comes from Baylor...

    Bearden 6

    Baylor 2

  7. I don't have the schedule but it may be posted on the redraiderrecap.com. As far as the field though Baylor would not play a game on the football field. All soccer games are played at the soccer complex thru the back entrance.

Speaking of Baylor and Notre Dame, does anyone have a schedule for the Baylor tournament this weekend? And where do they play? The football field or the fields near the back entrance?

  8. I have no connection with Ensworth at all. But if you don't have hard evidence why even say they are recruiting? If you evidence if just walk on their campus and you don't see the typical people that could pay 20,000 a year to attend are you aware that the D2 private school allot financial aid if their parents cannot afford the school? These schools have an outside company that processes the financial aid forms and are an independant company. Parents have to supply alot of information and forms. The private schools in D2 do not want to keep a kid from having the right to attend the school just because they don't have the money. At least in Chattanooga after they complete the application, go through an interview at the school, have teacher recommendations from past teachers, are given a test to see where they place to see if they are a "fit" for the school and pupil.......then if accepted they can apply for financial aid. This is in place. All you have to do is tour alot of these campuses and see alot of diversity because the schools want to give all that are a fit the possbility of attending....not just the rich. I just wish that people would stop this...unless they have "hard" evidence. If not they need to learn how these schools "really" operate.

Sorry, as to the Ensworth recruiting... I have no hard evidence, however just simply walk over to their college-like campus and look around at who is there. Not the typical people you would expect to be paying 20,000 dollars to attend a college prep school.
