  1. Just wondering if others have noticed there is less posting here relative to previous years. There were two big tournaments this past weekend--an SRT in Martin and the Showtime Flight tourney--and no postings about the results. Does anyone have thoughts about why people are posting less?
  2. Pride d. Storm CDF d. Falcons Express d. MC Magic
  3. Elitebball: Could you shed some light on what happened to the FCA Lady Eagles? Is that the new Memphis Flight 12U Nike team?
  4. How about those Trotters upsetting the Xtreme? Are they for real?
  5. Does anyone know the results of this substate? Commander: How did the Pride fare?
  6. Does anyone know anything about the teams in the West? FCA is not entered. Have they folded? If so, where are the FCA girls playing? Is the "Memphis Select" team new? How about the Tennessee Wings? Are they new?
  7. I think the website is fine. One feature that you might consider adding is game and tournament results. The Trotters site has this feature, and it serves a successful program (like the Pride) well.
  8. Does anyone know what teams by age group will be there?
  9. The deadline used to be posted at www.tngirlsbasketball.com. I am pretty certain that you have to notify HL Cummins today of pickups. I also believe that any girl not participating on another team going to the Nationals can be picked up.
  10. The pickup deadline was today. Who got a lot better?
  11. Here is one theory. For the bigger clubs, the determination of where to play is based on who else you think is going to be there. Since this is a guessing game, the stronger clubs want to signal to other teams where they are going to play to discourage other bigger clubs from coming to the same substate. One way of sending this signal is to go to the same substate every year. I would guess that Pride first started going to the North Middle because it was seen as weaker. They keep going there so that other teams will know where they are going.
  12. I do not recall her number but she is their standout player. She is about 5'6" and very quick. She has a very nice shot from the high post and when she gets the ball, she intends to score. As for other post players, I cannot help you. Some tall girls are available but offensive minded post players are hard to come by in this age group. The ones that are out there have mostly been scooped up.
  13. I wonder if what is changing is the quality of Shelbyville teams or the quality of the teams they play. Shelbyville is one of the few community (school) based teams that still tries to compete in AAU. Most AAU teams are now club teams that draw from a very wide area. It is tough for a school-based team to compete against the club teams.
  14. I like the Trotters chances too but they have to find another post player (one is not enough for Nationals) if they expect to be a Sweet 16 team. The challenge they face is that Post Players are hard to find. If I were the Trotters Coach, I would give the post for the Top Guns a call. She is very tough.
  15. Teams with Shot at 11U Sweet Sixteen: (1) TN Express (2) TN Extreme (3) FCA Lady Eagles
  16. I too congratulate the Trotters. They are a quality team and proved it this weekend. Having said that, I have to agree with ptguard that their lack of depth, particularly at post, will eventually be their archilles heel. When their only post sits because of foul trouble, they are a different team. Hopefully, they can pick up some depth before nationals.
  17. Winners Bracket Final KGC Pride v. Voyagers
  18. Pool A Results 1. Trotters 2. FCA 3. Cookeville Ladies 4. Express Pool B Results 1. Xtreme 2. Tigers 3. Pearls 4. CDF One and two out of each pool play tomorrow to determine places first through third. All teams will receive national bids except CDF.
  19. First Round Pool Play: Cookeville Ladies d. Express Pearls d. CDF Trotters d. FCA Lady Eagles Xtreme d. Memphis Tigers
  20. I never called Tiffany "indecent" so stop putting words in my mouth. I have no clue what Tiffany did since I did not see the game. What I said was that it was indecent to press when you are up by 30 points. For you to be arguing this point is silly. Besides you, I doubt if you will find anyone else on this board that believes there is any justification for pressing when you up by over 30. I'm done with this thread.
  21. I think we will have to agree to disagree. You should not press a team you are beating by more than 30. For me, it is just a matter of decency. I do not care whether it is REC, AAU or the NBA.
  22. How many times have they played CDF this year? Who else have they played this year?
  23. Do you think "bench strength" is how many players you have? Most coaches don't go beyond eight deep anyway. I believe a better measure of bench strength is how good your first eight is. Who have the Cookeville Ladies played?
  24. CPG, I did not see the game but you said she worked on her press with the second team. I said that was a bad decision if that is what she did when up by over 30. I stand by that opinion. As for your other points, they are not a response to anything I posted.
