1. Summer league is run by the men's club. The league consists of high school players through post collegiate (several of us very post collegiate). The organization is looking to expand to a more regional approach, i.e sending 20 man squads to Asheville, Atlanta, Nashville for informal games.

Could the high school and collegiate level players possibly participate in those tournaments as well?

  2. We will be starting up on May 27th at Farragut Middle. Tentative plan is to play games on Sunday nights at Safety City. These are the "real" games, referees, selected teams, etc. Pick up games will be played Wednesday nights at Farragut.

    USLacrosse registration is required.

  3. QUOTE(cavlax17 @ May 21 2007 - 03:17 PM) 826464077Yes, I realize that I am posting this with so much bias, but there is no way you can vote against Kurt Snider(cookeville). Yes, Franklin repeated as state championships, but they also had something to the effect of 21 seniors on the team. Cookeville only had 9 seniors. We only have something like 25 players on our team, of which only about 17 really play. If you compare the teams, Kurt has done so much more with what he had. (I am not saying that our team was terrible by any means. I would not trade this season for anything.) Both Franklin and Cookeville both had great senior leadership, but Cookeville definitely had to overcome much more to get to where we are now in lacrosse. We were a team that didn't even make it to the wild card last year, and are the same team as last year. Franklin won the state championship with the same team, so there really wasn't anything new that they could have implemented to not get the same result as last year. I just don't know how you can give it to anyone else but Kurt this year.

i agree. having played both teams this year im going to say that both teams were exceptionally coached. i was really impressed with franklin and just the sheer execution they had on offense, even early in the season. but the way coach snider has built up that program from basically nothing two years ago impresses me even more. doesnt coach snider also coach the middle school program at cookeville? correct me if im wrong, cause i probably am.

  4. QUOTE(lax4life32 @ Mar 3 2007 - 09:00 PM) 826398645any word on the Brentwood/West Knox game?

nope..im curious about that one too..brentwood was good but i think they couldve played better against webb..and i dont know much about west knox this year either but i figure brentwood to be one of the better teams in the state

  5. i agree...cookeville looked really good last year as it was and they dont lose anyone..snider (#5?) and yall's middie malone (1?) are both great. they would be considered as my early favorites, but then again i know little about whats going on from the nashville teams. and does anyone know anything about baylor and cleveland?

  6. webb will be losing many impact seniors like andy preston and trip conrad who were both 1st team all state this year as well as a bunch of middies and our main faceoff man...but then again we do have a strong sophmore class who had 5 or 6 guys who started or gave significant time this year but unless we can find some new middies we might be thin there next year...idk specifics on west knox but im pretty sure that they lose felker, bowman, bates and swanson i think..and those were all some all state guys but i think they return some pretty good guys as well..but yea i think cookeville will be the team to beat next year in the east region no doubt with all those guys coming back..they looked strong enough to contend in the playoffs this year

  7. yea on attack i would have to agree that jack cleary is one of the best ive seen this year as well as snider from cookeville...altho i havent seen anyone from cordova at all yet so im not sure..on middie i think matt felker is one of the best in the state even tho he did break his leg unfortunately in the webb game..i would agree that andy preston is one of the best in the state as well as Andre from Brentwood. at goalie i would have to go with either McConnell from centennial or Catterton from Brentwood, both guys were all state last year i think..idk bout LSM i havent really seen anyone whos dominant at that position cept for maybe the guy from centennial dont kno his name tho.
