I've always wondered how they decide the "Redmond Tennessee 11". They have a pretty accurate ranking for each division. They also provide a WIN-LOSS-TIE ranking for each division. But i've always see how A-AA gets no love in the overall state ranking on their ranking.

shelbyville dominated game but not with chances or shots but with there pace and aggression
siegel held on for about 55 minutes but in the end siegel was gassed
Just being curious...We have an upcoming game against Siegel. Just wondering what kinda info you could tell about them having seen them play. Key Players, Style, Weaknesses. ect.

I guess it'll never stop raining.
Well two inches of rain could level the playing field, making this tournament a little less clean cut beginning to end. How are Independence's field with managing excess rain fall.

Anyone have predictions on the outcome of this tournament?
This a tremindious tournament to kick off the season. Being that it is the beginning of the season and certain teams might not be clicking yet then there could be some surprises come suday on who is playing in the first two games. But with the way it looks the favorites are hosts Independence, Father Ryan, and Ravenwood. The wild card spot will most likely be Science Hill or Blackman. But I see Father Ryan taking it in Final.

By everyone's calculations, a 7-v-7 game should have high scores with lots of scoring opportunities... A ratio of 22 to 7 is pretty good...
Who else was in this 7v7 tournament? and frogdoggie although very sacastictly made a good point. Scrims can get out control on the score board. Putting a strong team against a weak team on a small field can lead to a very onesided game. Beside this 7v7 tourny what other results has LA gotten in preseason?
-
The schedule I recieved has all the games on friday, saturday, and sunday being played at Independence. Now i'm not sure if they have two fields or how they are going to do it.
-
How is a champion going to be decided? No championship game
I'm not to sure. if someone else has the info about the rest of the sunday scedule, it'd be a big help.

They score 22 goals in a 7v7 tourn. and playing a JV team.....Well we score 44 goals in practice yesterday!!!
thats a good point. 7v7 tournaments are played on small fields with so many opportunies in front of goal it's not even funny. so i wouldn't be surprised if they scored 22 goals in that tournament (depending on your competition) but next weekend should be a good test for them. i bet they'll score 30+ in the Bison Cup.lol just messing a couldn't help it.

Station Camp looks to be at the top of district 8a-aa at the end of preseason. So if LA is excelling at the rate you guys are saying they are then this should be a great show down. What are the dates of the Bison Cup?
-
Last year they lost a close game 2-0 to Portland in the region semifinals and lost to Station Camp earlier in the season in another close game. Station Camp finished top of the region and portland was runner up. They had a strong team but had problems penetrating opponent's defenses. how many starters are they returning from last years team.

It's definately going to be a long day of soccer and with the recent weather conditions the field is going to take a beating. Highlited are games to watch for. Are there any other match-ups worth keeping an eye on? or any not worth watching?

How did WEBB do?
-
any opinions or thoughts on who the top juniors are across the state. in my opinion, here are a few:
jonah powers-father ryan
houston oldham-mba
mark sherrod-carter
patrick kelly-hendersonville
jj greer-cbhs
Definately pat kelly. If the way he preformered last year for TNFC 90 is a reflection to how he'll preform in HS he'll be somebody to watch for.

where is zach trobough playing soccer in college...if he is???
I heard from a player he was talking to Coach Conway at Lambuth Unviersity.
-
White House made the state tournament in 1997 and 1998
why the sudden mention of history...
on a seperate note how did white house do against H'ville.
-
If this is true, it should be a very interesting game.
I think both teams will be very capable of making it past the rest of district competition. Station Camp could be the only team to stop this from happening. White house and portland are very strong both technically and physically.
-
Here is something to stir the minds of followers of 8A/AA. White House at Portland, Friday May 2nd at 7pm. This will be the last game of the regular season for both teams and it will be portland's senior night. Up until that point I think both teams will be able to fight thru district play and come out tied for 1st spot in the district, therefore making this THE DECIDING GAME of district play.

TJ Brown from Hendersonville, playing for Belmont, was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team.
-
Station camp will always put a talented team on the field, true they did lose the core of their team to graduation last year but they will be bringing young talent back to be a contender. White house i'm pretty sure didn't graduate to many seniors and have a very talented centermid who played for TN United 90. NAME??? but portland lost 4 seniors, 3 of them to NAIA colligate soccer and 2 exchange students all of which were part of a strong core to last years team. but they are returning All-state, div.1 signee, elias groft who along with 5 other returning seniors will be sure to put Portland in the top three of 8A-AA
-
Obadiah Groft of Portland will be one to watch.
-
This district has pulled off wins in some close games at Livingston Academy in regions the past two years. Anyone see that happening again with any of these teams?
District 8 is more than capable of coming out on top like they have the last two years. Besides LA no other team in that district has been able to compete with district 8 teams, losing by 3+ margains in the Region Semi-Finals. but by the look of it the district 8 tournament runner-up will have their hands full with the LA but still be very capable of advancing to the Region Final. Does anybody know of any regular season match ups between these two districts?
-
Elias Groft from Portland has commited to Memphis.
-
Portland will be hosting a "play day" which will be formatted so that each team will play each other in 40 min incrimints. It will be a great chance to see what the district will be bringing to the table this year. The only down side is that White House will be unable to participate due to priorly arranged scrimmages. But as far as predictions I'd say this season will fall the way it has the last two years Station Camp, White House, Portland as the top 3 in no particular order. but don't count out Merrol Hyde they had a very tallented squad last year that will have built upon their successes to be a contender this year.
Who is the best player in the state?

Brad has a big head for a reason...definately a talented player. Memphis is very lucky to have gotten him.
