  1. I knew it was coming....the AHSAA is throwing the book at alot of schools.9-0 Oxford got caught doing the same thing Hoover did and they had to forfeit 7 or 8 games and now they can't make the playoffs. Propst will most likely head down to South Alabama to resurrect another dormant program.

  2. Murphy Panthers @ Daphne Trojans. Fox Sports Net will carry the game tonight at 6 I think. Daphne played Foley and the #1 player in the nation on ESPN2 a few weeks ago. Tonights game should be another good one. By the way,did anybody watch the Greatest High School Rivalries series on the Vs channel? The latest one was Jenks Trojans vs Union Redskins out of Oklahoma. It was a very good, well done documentary....NFL films produced it so you know its good. Check it out...

  3. I was in Mobile a few weeks ago and I went to the Daphne/Mitchell game. Daphne has some very nice facilities,I've never seen a hs stadium with flat screen tvs on the concession stand showing the game live. I didn't get to see Reggie Hunt in action,he was sidelined from an injury but I did see clips and he is a great back. Coley White looks JUST LIKE PAT when he was on the field.I thought I was watching a WV game. They have a solid team should be a good game. Julio Jones is a monster,I honestly don't know if Daphne will be able to stop him. I heard they are closing the gates when they reach 7,600 fans becouse they expected around 14,000+ for this game and wanted to eliminate problems.

  4. All these sites from AL are just forums (or messageboards). A lot of people don't know it but coacht is more than just a messageboard. There are people on this board who don't know anything about coacht. They think the forum is all there is to the site. If you go to the home page and look at the links on the left side there is a vast amount of info on this site.

Yeah that what I was getting at. They only have a few mb sites.

  5. If coacht does decide to add in alabama sports, I wouldn't have a big problem with that. I would like to see more TN vs AL high school football games though. I don't know how it would work but it would be cool if there was some kind of annual game between the two states. Different teams each year at a nuetral site, like MTSU one year and Alabama the next. Now that would be a big game and big crowd! Anyway, if Alabama sports are fused with coacht we're going to need the same topics to talk about sometimes or else Alabama might as well start their own "Coacha" (okay, you know that sounds funny, don't lie to yourself) cause there won't be much the two states could talk about.

That would be cool. Mitchell scheduled Daphne out of the Mobile area for a Sept. 7th matchup in Alabama. Should be an interesting game for the Tigers.Daphne has played in 5 or 6 6a state champ games since 2000.

  6. There is no site in Alabama that covers high school sports in the way coacht does. When I showed some that I work with in AL about coacht they were in envy that we had coverage like that. Now I won't have anything on them as they will have the same coverage.

True, they have the AL.com forums that covers everything from Two-A-Days to Youth Football AL Forums

and a new site which prob won't get 'jumping' until the football season My Sports Place

  7. Here is a article I found on another mb

Two years ago, the coaching staff at the University of Louisville heavily recruited a gifted athlete out of Daphne, Alabama. He was the type of athlete that coaches love. He could throw, run and catch with the best of them. Like many that were recruiting him, the idea at U of L was to bring in the high school quarterback and convert him into a wide receiver or defensive back. In the end, the prospect chose to play elsewhere so he could continue to play behind center. Two years later and U of L coaches find themselves in a rather similar position.

Coley White, the younger brother of 2006 Big East Conference Offensive Player of the Year Pat White of West Virginia, will assume the reigns of the Daphne offense this fall and is out to prove that he’s everything that his brother is.

At 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, White is nearly the same size as his brother when he was a senior in high school and his ability to throw and run has drawn many comparisons to his older sibling.

"I think me and Pat are similar," White recently told Scout.com. "We play the same style. We are both duel quarterbacks that can run and pass. A lot of people tell me that we look exactly a like when we play."

White’s opportunity to showcase his abilities has been limited throughout his first three years. He has started only one game at quarterback, a first-round playoff game last fall, and ran for 103 yards on 11 carries, while also throwing two touchdowns.

“I need to go out and prove myself this year,” White said. “A lot of coaches are telling that they want to see me play.”

Despite not logging much game action, a number of college programs have already taken notice.

“I have offers from West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Central Michigan,” White told InsideTheVille.com on Tuesday. “I’m also still getting letters from Middle Tennessee, Louisville, Alabama, Auburn and a few others.”

Just like his older brother, White is being told that he could play a multitude of positions on the college level.

“I’d like to play quarterback, but I’ll play another position if it means I can play,” White explained. “I want to play as a true freshman and people tell me that I can play a few positions better then some already, so if it means playing another position so I can play as a freshman then I would.”

While he’s open to the idea of a possible position change, White added that he would prefer to stay on the offensive side of the ball.

“That’s where my heart is. Some coaches have told me that I could play on both offense and defense.”

With his older brother enjoying success in Morgantown, many might expect that the Mountaineers would lead for his services.

“It’s not a big factor really,” White said. “A lot of people ask me about that, but I just want to go where I feel is the right place for me. (Pat) tells me the same thing, plus I want to be able to make my own name.”

    White currently claims no favorites.

  10. QUOTE(TheBigRedDog @ Apr 11 2007 - 10:51 AM) 826434771[/snapback]Interesting that Two-A-Days is moving to Enterprise. To my knowledge, they are not on the same level, nationally, as Hoover. Nor have they been as succesful as Hoover in state. I assume this has something to do with Hoover supposedly being down next year. Isn't Enterprise the school that was recently destroyed by a tornado?

Also, I have heard that the Herbstreet Classic or whatever its called in Cincy, may not happen this year because of sponsorship troubles. If so, Hoover's game with Colerain may be off and that would open up another date for them.

EHS isn't a top 10 team in 6A...I'm guessing MTV wants to capture their recovery after the storm. Their stadium was destroyed so they will play all their home games at Troy University.

On the national board an HHS fan said their game with Colerain will still be played with or without Herbie.
