  1. Even though I'm on the Riverdale side, I can't help noticing the other teams like Blackman and Siegel. They have really worked hard this year and they deserve the win every time they play. Riverdale is strong but some people on the team need to run more and go for the ball. The best person on Riverdale's team is probably Matt Warren. He has improved so much this year!

Who are you? I can't imagine that you are Matt or Steve.

  2. Death Valley, There is a good team out of Knoxville, KFC Arsenal. They play with a lot of heart and intensity. They have also had a good off season. They did lose two players to TNFC, but they have picked up some quality players. Look for this year to be a tough state championship.

How do coaches and players manage practice sessions when they are 3-4 hours away? It might be something we'd be interested in if we thought it was possible to work it out.

  3. Steve Boynton is a good player with a lot of speed and he absolutely does not give up on the ball. Not bad at all, but I haven't seen him much during the HS season. Is Blackman's talent pool that deep?

  4. I am just amazed at how nasty everyone is on these boards! Not in this particular thread, but in others that I have read. Everyone better hope that their name is never mentioned at all, in either a good or bad light, because as soon as it's out there, it's like throwing meat to the crocs!

Oh, and hello, Ron! I, for one, am happy to hear that the TNFC rumors are untrue.

  5. Yes, some great players have gone through ODP during the past few years, but there have been just as many great players that have been overlooked just because they didn't have the right 'connections' or the right address. It's sad, but true.

There have even been instances in which ODP has refused to scout certain areas. It's incredibly political.

  6. I heard the boys Striker 90 team is disbanding this year and not even competeing in the state cup? What happened?

There were numerous players on the team that were not able to play in the State Cup for various reasons, so the decision was made to not participate this year.

As for disbanding, we don't know what will happen following the high school season. Tryouts will be held, and we will go from there.

I do know that there are a number of players who feel that it is time to make the move to different teams, some because they want a more challenging atmosphere, and some because they want a less challenging atmosphere. Every player has to find the team where he can be an asset, yet continue to grow and improve.

As someone stated earlier, there is talk of an 89-90 combination team, but I don't know any more than that.
