  1. He has a different measure of almost everything than most people do. Just read his posts.

There are just some people who apparently think that quantity is more important than quality and don't care much for accuracy or correctness or knowledge. I guess they just like the sound of their own voice, or the look of their typing I guess.

Wow Phargis I think you do a good job posting on your opinion and views. Keep up the good work, love the fact that we can agree to disagree without problems. I do not post often but felt JoeyT was not being too kind especially since he just recently joined. Oh well good luck to all teams and may the best teams win! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  2. You cannot count those middle school players as yours until after school has started next year. Beware the special transfer. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Special transfer hummmmmmm maybe someone should be vocal about the academics at the surrounding schools does anyone know how the students scored on their act/sat's. Does anyone have a clue to the stats on the education side and which school has more tenure teachers. Lets face it LHS is being run by teachers who have stuck it out and continue to do just that so that one day these kids are given the same opportunities that others are receiving throughout the county, it is very unfortunate that our county leaders are continuing to drag their feet about making a new LHS a reality but it will eventually have to happen and when it does Lebanon will be even more inviting to their students. It just seems shameful that elected officials can't step up and do what is best for our children in our community. But really be careful what you wish for when you throw out special transfers that can be a two-way street. Take a good look at the Coaching staff at each of these schools look at what a first year coach has done thus far, LHS has taken it to a new level and lots of girls have been given an opportunity to play. Her coaching seems to represent something called TeamWork it hasn't always been about one or two players and teamwork seems to be what she strives for and certainly has shown in the past three games. So as I said be careful what you wish for.....never know! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  3. UH OH, here they come. lebanon High school lost to Mt. Juliet tonite 63-43. led by Elie 16, and Jennings 11.

Oakland lost to lavergne 62-39. Lavergne's Dale 25 and Oaklands Cook 12.

Let there be a correction about the MT. Juliet Game/Lebanon it was a 10 point win over Lebanon not 20 and can't nobody say nothing negative about the Blue Devils they gave us a run for the money. Matter of fact was up double digit early in the game. It appears they need to learn to finish better and feel more confident about what they can do. Our girls stepped up the second half and created the win but it was not easy by no means.

  4. One thing the Lebanon girls DO NOT NEED is someone who thinks they are the team. Everyone on the current team knows there is NO "I" in team. Just because Fox's grandfather is the mayor of Lebanon.does not mean he is going to fix anything at LHS. I have heard people say if things do not go right at LHS that she will go to FCS. She is a heck of a player... but do not throw threats out there like that. When you have someone that comes in to a program that and thinks that they are a walk-on to the varsity team without no problem... a lot of her teamates are going to have hard feelings towards her. Thats not fair to either. As far as getting it together and keeping coaches and a good staff at LHS... THE WILSON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD is the cause of that problem. Pay these people what they need to be paid and for goodness sakes... BUILD THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL!!!!! /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />

Wow haven read through several of these remarks it saddens me and I really hope that the Fox Camp does not get a hold of this and decide to go across the county to another school. If this girl is as good as you say she is it is not because she is an "I" player it would more likely be because she is a team player and one would think that LHS would welcome the arrival to another one. And as for the existing team there are many rising stars on the team already that you overlooked and I am sure they would welcome one more on the team if that time comes. But it really blows my mind that a parent would speak of a 8th grader like this, not to mention then to throw other family members into the mix. One would wonder exactly what your intentions are entirely. It is really sad and part of the problem when parents get involved and make remarks such as this about a young person who probably simply just loves the game and Shows up to Play the game.

  6. Ashley Johnson to coach Devilettes

Reported by the Wilson Post (on line)

    Wilson Post

Wow! what a wonderful day in basketball and the future of Lebanon High School. Everyone concerned and those who care about Lebanon Blue Devil Basketball have an opportunity to continue the path that Darien left with all the same positive attitude that was given to him. The future is the most important aspect to this puzzle. Parents, Students and Blue Devil Fans if we all pitch in a positive effort we can and will accomplish great things in the future. Nothing but up hill from here. I have read about this young lady and she is indeed a Great Pick for program. Welcome her with open arms. Her success is our success and the future of many young ladies in Lebanon. It is time that The Lady Devils rise above and shine.. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  7. Big Daddy,

Wow, you are on to something here that I didn't catch earlier. Thanks to your "investigative work," I now know who this person is. Some of the nasty statements and accusations were aimed at me and Crossville Thunder. It is becoming clear....Her rant started because she thought I had slighted her daughter in my response (which I did not). Yet she did absolutely say that she had never been affiliated with our program and her kids were GROWN. Looks to me like she has a girl that plays for the Maroon 12U team when you read the posts in this thread.

I actually had last year's Thunder coach and our current high school coach, who is a friend of mine (his girl plays ball on our 10U team) read All4Them's earlier post to see if they might know who would post such trash in the Thunder thread. Wow.. Now that I know who it is...let's just say I'm very disappointed.

It is good to know though, so thanks again Big Daddy.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN GOOD LUCK TO ALL HOPE EVERYONE GETS THEIR MONEY'S WORTH. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  8. Really don't know this coach and where she has coached before and what her record was. Certainly if played at Shelbyville, whe has seen winners and if played at UT, has really seen winners. Great players don't necessarily make great coaches but could be a good start. Really hope who is selected has the ability to bring the community and the program together and build on what the past two years has developed. This is NOT a small school situation but is a AAA job that carries with it competing with 7AAA schools and carries with it being in the Region the past two years and fan expectations as well as player expectations of keeping on a once present tradition at a school that is in a County that is a hotbed of Basketball in the State in Girls Basketball. To lower expectations would be unexceptable. The major hurtle is have the communications in Lebanon to compete for players, that are available, in Lebanon itself and not lose any currently there. To much had been done to bring the program to where it currently with a great freshman team in place.

The current posters on this site, it appears, know what is happening and realize what is at stake and know why this selection is so important. Any coach selected has to know that Communication and Selling LHS to players and parents has a great deal to do with their success. This poster would not now and does not consider LHS a start up situation by any means. It is not just a job but stepping in to a tradition. It is certainly something one does need to mull over and realize it will take organizational skills at a pretty high level.

I would have to agree with your comment but find it very interesting what an impact a formal Shelbyville player now coaching could be a really positive situation. I truly believe that if she played for Ensell and left him with a good standing not to mention worked hard for him then she has one angel on her shoulder. Lets face it he is one person that it doesn't hurt to have in your favor. Looking at the big picture Lebanon has the talent and can continue its postive direction moving forward what would be more hopeful is for the Parents and Players give 100% to the program to keep it moving forward. I see a bright future for the Lady Devils and think it even more important to bring in someone from outside. Totally unfortuniate to have loss Darien Brown but to have lost him to Wilson Central is almost a more positive thing than a negative one. At Least he is very much aware of the rumors or recruiting and seeing the kind of person he appears to be will not lower his standards to break the rules and for once keep Red and his Old Pap grounded from continuing to break them. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  9. Try www.tennesseemiracle.com.

It's one of the best run tournaments we've gone to and with some highly competitive teams. We'd be going again, but our state tournament is scheduled at the same time.

I have nothing but good things to say about this tournament, well run officals are fair and focused. I believe lady running it is Barbara Huff or Brenda Huff and Hats off to this lady her goal is to be the best and to get better every year and so far so good.

  10. Is YOUR PRIDE hurt because the maroon team just barely fell short of beating the Gold. I was there and I did not hear one parent BOO! As a matter of fact they are all a great bunch of people. You might want to ask your Coach what happened. It was an exciting contest with no one having Home Court Advantage. I'm thinking both Coaches might just tell you the same thing, that the maroon team is HUNGRY ! They have no National Title and have never played together before. They are having to prove their every step. And just for your 411 Maroon players and parents are always cheering for Gold, except when they are playing maroon. Maroon parents cheer and yes experience the same frustrations as any other parent, who is sitting in the stands with a much better view of the floor. Hats off to the refs, I don't know how they do it. But you know it is an age old game. Fans have been getting upset about, what we ALL see at a better view, the calls of a game. The best advice I can give you is for a nice quite game you may want to watch it from your livingroom. Team Pride Gold you are awesome! Team Pride Maroon you are awesome! And if I am wrong and you are not a Gold parent please accept my apology. And weren't you the one who just made a statement about playing in Cookeville! Yah! I'm sure it was you. Hoop & Loop right? Practice what you preach. If you can't run with the BIG DOGS STAY ON THE PORCH! I know I will be in the stands enjoying the view. God Bless!

Well once again I just didn't get my point across and frankly should have kept my original remark to myself (Orginally I had heard a Maroon parent after a game tell their child that the ref's beat them and felt that that was being a little to vocal) but as much as I would love to be in Cookeville for the state AS I DID STATE IN PREVIOUS TEXT I will be in Memphis. I wish all the teams the very best no matter what color you are wearing and where you are playing. My biggest blessing is for the Ref's I hope that you can do the job expected of you and everyone will respect you and your job. That was where my original statement were meant to be directed. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  11. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

How does the 12u stack up , especially team pride ( gold & maroon )

MAROON TEAM HAS A FEW TOOOO VOCAL PARENTS THAT THROW THE GAME. I WISH THAT WHEN KIDS ARE PLAYING THEIR GAME THE PARENTS WOULD JUST LET THEM DO JUST THAT. REF'S DO THEIR BEST IT APPEARS IN MOST CASES AND WHEN THE PARENTS START BOO THEM AT THEIR JOB YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE GOING TO GET. PLAYERS EITHER WIN OR LOOSE AND THE REF'S NEED TO BE RESPECTED AND LET THE GAMES JUST BE PLAYED. IN THE CROWD SOME OF US WOULD JUST LIKE TO ENJOY THE GAME. JUST A THOUGHT!

  12. So are you saying that you CHEAT in Cookeville???

Because I always thought that the BEST team should win not because you have home court advantage or that your uncle is the REF???

Maybe they need to look into hosting it at a different location????

    /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

Well first of all let me say that I was commenting on your predictions!! You have Memphis winning in all age groups primarily, in reference to Our House was to mean Middle Tennessee Area. So let me say that I do not believe Memphis is walking away with all the wins... as for Cookeville well from what I have seen out of that organization they do a great job! So sorry for making the comment cause I wasn't meaning to draw attention to the ref's. On a high school level I have seen Cookeville organization many times and they are nothing but some good folks in that area, can't say that about all the other area's of the state. It will be nothing but some good games well worth seeing. Good Luck to all and wish I could be there. Looks like I will be headed to Your House..... /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

  13. Well I agree with you about the possibilities of an underdog but I believe you are underestimating the power of TeamPride onthe 13 and 14 level so don't hold your breath about not including the 13's at state and the 4th place for the 14's, And do you really think that Memphis is going to come to Cookeville and take State I might think again on that one. Not at our house.

  14. Brackets were distributed monday morning to all the teams or team contacts. Games are being played at six sites in Shelbyvile starting at 5 friday and ending at 4 sunday afternoon. 5 games at each site friday, 11 games at each site saturday and 6 games at each site sunday. Over 70 teams will be in attendance.

Not everyone has a link with a coach that is playing this weekend to get a schedule can you find it possible to post something!

  15. Nope not on this venue should anything but positive stuff be said about teenagers...

Well you are so right, postitive talk is important and for reasons parents saw fit to send them there may be reasons in the past. Lebanon High has a coaching staff now that is well worth being proud of. We all could agree when you put Pride & Support into the program it is destine to go somewhere.

  16. sorry to say but we arent talking about "RICK INSELL" we are talking about DARRIEN BROWN at this moment in time, and what he has done with the devilettes in 2 years.

Yes the talk is Darian Brown and the Lebanon Blue Devils and hopefully this year is the beginning of many more to come. Congrats Devils on a great year! Each and everyone should be proud!

Nice Statement above about the Coach of the Century, Decade.

  17. Wilson Central can still start a strong five with little Hassell in the mix but they will certainly be weaker from there on down. Burrough's can handle the ball well enough but what remains to be seen is if playing point will cost her some threes. From what I have seen Bud doesn't have anyone else ready that can handle the ball well enough.

Well with JC out that could mean somethings but Central could pull the first game off with ease but some of the players are going to have to step up and fell confident about taking the shot. Hassells are by far not all the talent on this team. Prior this game I would simply tell these girls to play their game shoot if and when they can and be confident that this is game one more to come.

  18. I think Smyrna has been great down the stretch, I think they send Hillsboro home. I think WC will have a tough time wo Jesse, not much depth on that team.

Wow! Haven seen Jessica play she is one of the fastest points in the this part of the state as far as I am concerned. An asset to the team for sure, Now are we sure she is out for the season is this her senior year? Hopefully her injury will have a speedy recovery, could that be possible. However good luck in the Sub State

  19. Jessica will be missed tremendously! Our prayers go out to her and Mom and Dad.

The team lost Jenkins last year for a couple games and managed to readjust. Talent is there, depth is a concern, just have to wait and see who wants it more!

    Don't count out the Wildcats.

    Good luck Ladies /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

You can say that again... JC is a large asset to this team. Something this yr is not right with this team this year something is missing. I have been to a handful of their games, never have I seen but 6 maybe 7 players play. The benchwarmers are all sitting there with long faces screaming out "I did make this team, I was good enough to make the team, I go to practice, I give alot of effort what's it going to take to play. It only makes sense to coach all your players so that when the time comes they can step up. Not to say that someone won't step up in her place but how well can one succeed if never given a chance ( so much will be expected from whoever fills her shoes tonight). I bet a lot of those girls on the bench deserved a chance all year now in the most important part of the season the lack of experience is what will probably get them tonight. I wish them luck but smyrna seems to have given their bench a chance thru out the season and it will likely show tonight. But who knows we will have to wait and see. Bless you JC for an awesome season, you will be missed in this one and one....Lots of luck with your injury.

  20. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY WHO THOUGHT THAT THIS MAN (COACH D.BROWN) SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF AWARD! AND COACH OF THE DECADE WOULD BE A GREAT ONE. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE STORIES THAT YOU SEE MOVIES ABOUT! NOT MANY PEOPLE WOULD OF BELIEVED IN THESE GIRLS AND PUT THEIR REPUTATION ON LINE TO COACH A TEAM WHO HAD 3 WINS IN ONE YEAR...BROWN BELIEVES IN WORKING WITH ALL THE PLAYERS NO ONE STANDS AROUND, DURING PRACTICE EVEN THE GIRLS THAT ARE SITTING ON THE BENCH DOES AS MUCH WORK AS ANYONE ELSE..THIS IS A MAN WHO CARES ABOUT ALL HIS PLAYERS NOT JUST HIS STARTERS. COACH BROWN HAS TAUGHT THESE GIRLS TO HAVE HEART, STRENGTH, COURAGE, AND FAITH IN WHAT THEY DO AND IT HAS TAKEN THEM ALONG WAY AND STILL THEY HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO. WITH THE HEART THIS TEAM HAS THEY WILL BE ON THEIR WAY TO STATE. THE SENIORS BROOKS, MARSHALL, ELIE, AND HUDDLESTON ARE THE ONES WHO WHERE ON THE LHS TEAM 3 YEARS AGO WHEN THEY COULDNT EVEN WIN A GAME, THESE GIRLS DESERVE TO MAKE IT AS FAR AS THEY CAN GO. THEY HUNG IN THERE AND DIDNT QUIT EVEN WHEN NOONE BELIEVED IN THEM. WHEN BROWN CAME ALONG THE GIRLS STARTED PLAYING WITH A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK, EVERYONE COULD TELL THAT THESE WERENT THE SAME GIRLS. THEY FINALLY HAD SOMEONE WHO BELIEVED IN THEM REGARDLESS OF THE PAST AND WITH THAT THEY WILL HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE!

Nicely put and you are exactly right it takes a lot to do what these girls stood by and done. Lebanon should be totally proud of the team as a whole. Going to different games this season seeing teams with benchwarmers is what could be what breaks a program down. Think if a girl trys out for the team and makes it why would she be there if it wasn't to play(if they are good enough to make the team they should be good enough to play no brainer!). It is the kind of coach that chooses a team and coaches the entire team is the one that will likely end up on top. If I had gamble I would predict more to come from the Lebanon Blue Devils. They are well on their way to becoming an outstanding program without a doubt. Go Big Blue good luck in Cleveland! Nothing is over because you can never give up never ever give up!!!

  21. WOW HOPE TONIGHT IS FULL OF UPSETS POLLS ON THIS SITE PREDICT A 8.1% CHANCE THAT LEBANON CAN WIN. WELL I UNDERSTAND WHY WITH THE RECORD THAT SHELBYVILLE IS ALWAYS ABLE TO PULL OFF. GOT A GREAT PROGRAM BUT COACH BROWN IS WELL ON HIS WAY TO MAKING THE LEBANON BLUE DEVIL PROGRAM WHAT IT HAS BEEN AND WILL, CAN BE. EXACTLY WHAT SOMEONE SAID IN A PAST READ ABOUT THE SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY COACH BROWN HAS THAT AT LEBANON HIGH AND WITH HIS NEW SCHOOL JUST AROUND THE CORNER A DESERVING THOUGHT WOULD BE GIVE IT THE NAME OF A NEW ERA OUT WITH THE OLD BRANDON AND ON WITH THE NEW BROWN....LET THERE BE LIGHT AGAIN ON THE THE LEBANON BLUE DEVILS. BLESS YOU GIRLS YOU ALL PLAY AS A TEAM AND MAKE THE GAME PROUD TO HAVE ALL OF YOU IN IT. GOOD LUCK TONIGHT, KEEP THE FAITH AND NEVER GIVE UP NEVER EVER GIVE UP, THE BEST IS YET TO COME....

  22. Nothing that the Devilettes do from this point on is going to surprise me anymore. I would expect Shelbyville to win tomorrow, but with the way things have been going the last 2 weeks for Lebanon I wouldn't bet against them. The Devilettes are destiny's darlings right now. Good luck against Shelbyville.

As I read thru the results of the games in the different regions I am more drawn to what I read about Lebanon. From what I know two years ago they could not fill the bench. The team has found themselves in a place that hasn't been too familiar. You know the same circle of schools can be the powerhouse year after year but what makes it a better story is when you take a program is when a team can rise above it, done the unexpected. Coach Brown what you and your staff have brought to this program is hope for the future. It kindly reminds me of an old man from that school words "Never give up Never ever Give up" That is exactly what has happen and as they set forth to Wednesday I hope they keep that in their minds as they battle against Shelbyville. Good luck Lady Devils.

  23. I realize that Lebanon is in the 7th and not the 9th but lets all give a big applaud to the Lebanon Blue Devils I believe it has been well over 15 years since a district was won. Way to go Lebanon Blue Devils! As I read about the different wins and defeats among the many districts last night I am very thankful that the Lebanon Devils had an opportunity to feel the magic of winning. After seeing where the Blue Devil program was 3,4,5 years ago and to change hands in coaching and within 2 years win the district that takes alot of determination, work & a lot of heart. Without making any direct accusations some of the school have had the star power delivered on a golden spoon but with this team it has been all about doing the best you can with what you got and making the best of it! That is what Coach Brown & his Team has done. He gave these girls just exactly what they needed to believe it & have faith that it could be done. When a coach truly believes in his players and instills that into his players you have every possiblity of magic to occur. As for this Team and I say team without any "I's" in it they demonostrate team effort, spirit & determination. Nothing they did was about one player Fans are proud of their strong effort keep it up and good luck in the regions.
