  8. Not all wrestlers participate in Freestyle. For those who chose not to, we must offer them opportunity to wrestle. Even during FS & GR season, its evident that there is still a demand for folkstyle wrestling. Our tournament is another option to allow wrestlers to prepare for next season and from the strong response I've received thus far--there is still a great demand for folkstyle duals during the summer. I don't think we will have any issues filling it up.
  9. Introducing the Valhalla Duals at Viking Hall, Bristol, TN June 12-13 Featuring 28 teams competing in two divisions The Odin Division will feature 16 All Star Teams battling in a scramble style tournament placing through 16. Wrestlers from both finalist teams will receive custom finalist singlets. Odin Division teams may wrestle as combined club teams. The Warriors Division will feature up to 16 High School teams. Each team will compete in a minimum of 5 matches. Warriors Division teams should include wrestlers from the same high school, no more than three wrestlers outside the school. No graduated seniors. Special awards will be given to champions in this division. Entry fee: Odin Division $600 Warriors Division $450 Visit www.vikingswrestlingclub.com for details and entry information. 10. JakefromStateFarm- Dewey Pendley will probably have something to say about that, we'll see in a few weeks.
  11. No doubt, not having someone at every weight class will hurt. Actually, we won't have a 195 either--we had a jv wrestler fill in at 52 to allow us to bump in some duals but we won't be doing that for individual region. Its hard to compete on this level in an individual tournament with only 11 wrestlers. I am proud of our accomplishments so far this year, but I am also realistic. We will battle to the end for every point but DB and SH both fill each weight class and will score points where we can't. NewCoach is correct, it will come down to who has the best weekend and both DB and SH know how and when to show up when it matters.
  12. NewCoach - I think you are overlooking DB just a bit. I believe they are the team to beat at this point. I count at least 5 finalists and maybe up to 7 at region. I would not be surprised to see them qualify 10+ for state. They have a group of kids who have tasted a Region Championship and know what it takes to win. They always show up at the big tournaments. Region will be won in the consolation rounds. I agree there is a great deal of parity in the top 4. Second through fourth in the team race will probably be separated by very few points.
