  1. Ky is fine I have a great group of guys to work with, still miss RBS though but I know they are in good hands now. We don't play classes here so it is tough. We move into a district next year with 2 4A football schools so it will be hard to compete. our LL and summer programs are awful up here. Lots of politics in LL not in high school though best players play no matter what.

What are you going to get your degree in?

I'm going for Health and PE right now. Everyone's telling me it will be hard to get a job as a PE teacher, but I'm gonna go for it anyway. I heard today that Clarkrange was done for the season. Anyone else heard anything about that?

  2. Hey Guys, Haven't been on here in a long time. Somebody figured out my password and said somethings about Macon County that wasn't very nice. Hate to hear you are not pitching anymore 5 you were one heck of a pitcher when you played. I would say that too many 150 pitch games hurt the old hose and that is a shame. Peters how are things on the mountain. Muffin are you going to be there Friday when we come down to play the Dawgs? Take it easy on us. We are struggling quite a bit right now 2-4 just got back from a Tourney in Louisville got beat by 2 teams ranked in the state. Swanson see you on Friday. Good luck to all in 7A. By the way to add my 2 cents which isn't much. Listen to Loop on the topic of players getting signed he knows his stuff. Russell is a good kid and player at least he was in Little League, but not Tech material for sure. We had several at RBS when I was there that had more talent and better numbers and Tech only wanted them to come to their Fall League. They didn't want them to play there. The difference between playing at RBS or HS and Tech is like a 2-year old playing on a high school team. Big difference.

You're right Coach. Alot, if not all of my arm trouble came from getting over used in High School and Babe Ruth. How are you liking it up in KY? Whatever happened to McCoy?

  3. Actually I am not in school right now. I am working in a pharmacy trying to get everything I can paid off. I am not sure I would want to go through surgery for one year either. I am hoping to get my car loan paid off, with that being said if I can get it paid off in the next 8 or 9 months then I dont know what my future holds. I have been throwing and running so I may try to correct my mistake I made  a few years ago.  Not sure, but thinkin awful hard about it.  how did you like playing at Roane?

I started off throwing the best I ever have during the fall my first year there but messed the arm up a few weeks into spring practice. I played through it for about half the season and finally went to the doctor about it. I wasn't gonna play anymore, but Coach Works wanted me to give it another try this fall. Messed the arm up again about 2 weeks into fall and decided to give it up. It was alright down there, but he doesn't give the pitchers a chance to hit which wouldn't be that bad if any of the fielders could hit. Coach Works is a character. I wish everyone would go to a game just to watch him. They're doing better this year than they have in years past, but the record's only around .500. So are you thinking about trying to play again?

  4. Yeah Cumberland did offer me half tuition. I had to cover the books, and the housing and other expenses. I had also just bought a car and thought it would be a good idea to get a job and go to tech. If they (tech) would have offered anything the situation may have took a turn. I made a mistake that I see now and wish I could go back about three years so if anyone offers anyone anything and you like the school at all and they are going to pay for your school TAKE IT or you will definately regret it. Three years ago  I was just young and dumb. Green are you still at Roane?

Yeah, I'm still at Roane State, but I'm not playing. Hurt my arm last year. Then again this fall so I called it quits. Don't feel like have surgery just to be able to play for one year. Just waiting to go to Tech next year. Where you going to school?

  5. Peters was probalby the best, last time that I talked to him Tech may have wanted him to walk on and try out that was a couple of years ago.

I'm pretty sure Cumberland University was interested in him a few years ago if I remember correctly.

  6. I thought this was an April Fool's joke until I saw that it was posted on the 6th. Nobody from Hermitage Springs will ever get a baseball or any other kind of athletic scholarship to Tech. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say nobody in 7a will probably ever get a baseball scholarship. Peters was the best player that I ever saw in this district, and I don't think Tech even offered him anything. I might be wrong about that though. So I don't see how they're gonna offer some no name kid from HS a scholarship when they didn't offer the best player to come out of this district in 6 or 7 years.

  7. You guys had the one seed and it showed last year, we were tired and out of pitching....who knows who would have won, no one will ever know.  I will say one thing you guys got to host and it didnt matter because you got it handed to you by Westmorland just like we did at FCS.  Actually glad our kids got a chance to go see a first class program in Friendship.

pc10, I would not try to get a rise out of you, I hope you guys are more successful this year than last year, becuase that means you have gotten better and that's what it is all about.

This is off the subject, but you are right about Friendship's program. We played them when I was a Junior in the region. They've also got the best facilities and field of any high school I've ever been to and most colleges that I've played at.

  8. One of the better coaches in single A, in my opinion, is Coach Looper at Monterey. I never played for him, but he always fields a pretty good team and seems to know what he's doing. Wish he would've been at Clarkrange when I was playing.

  9. I have to go with Mizuno on pretty much aeverything....except 1B mits, then i go with Wilson. But i love everything mizuno...

Yeah, Mizuno's my fielding glove of choice.

  10. Still no numbers? I played at Clarkrange and graduated in 2003. I don't know which Cookeville writer you're talking about tex, but I always liked Laytham from down there. He always wrote pretty good about us even though we were from a different county. His stories were always more detailed than our county paper which only wrote by looking at the scorebook. I think any school that has a sportswriter for their team should feel lucky, but I'm from Fentress County so anything other than the score of the game is good to me.
