1. QUOTE(FCSprideatUT @ May 24 2007 - 10:31 PM) 826466526Interesting, when FCS got beat by hundington 11-1 i didn't hear anyone from FCS saying that Hundington should get kicked out just for being public... but regardless, there is an entire board if you would like to join the other people who hate private schools beating their teams.

You just missed the point buddy. In Public schools you get what you got. In private schools, heck if you need another pitcher you go out and recruit one. Never said i hated private schools so don't put words in my mouth and besides Huntingdon is the last team i would want to win the state tour.

  2. QUOTE(Blue and Gold @ May 23 2007 - 07:28 PM) 826465588Game 2, Mustangs went with Crocker. After a Solo by Richland the Mustangs answered in the first. Richland went ahead in the 3rd the after 6 it was 5-2. The Mustangs put in Cole McAdams in the top of the 7th. Two more runs on the board for Richland to make it 7-2. With their back against the wall the Mustangs were at the top of the order. Crocker walk then Baxter. Cole McAdams HR to make it 7-5. Clifft to first on a E. B-Mac to first with the hit. burke with a hit. Calab Crocker hit to right. Clifft scores. 7-6

Colin out on the bunt. Colton hit to get B-Mac in. 7-7 Then back around for Cody Crocker with brother on second. Hit to Right Center and the run across the plate. 7-8 Mustangs. Way to go Mustangs and way to go Seniors. Hit the ball when needed.

    Magic Number----2

Not so magic huh? Why'd the countdown stop?

  3. QUOTE(FCSprideatUT @ May 24 2007 - 10:25 PM) 826466514Well the football score was 19-13, and the way that both of these teams have been hitting it would not be unheard of for the score to reach or surpass that. I pick FCS by 2. Also a congrats to Jon Miller on a new Tournament record for homeruns and RBI's...

They should be in the championship game. Both schools get to recruit and offer scholarships. Just another reason why there should be no private schools in single A.

  4. QUOTE(red_16 @ May 12 2007 - 01:11 PM) 826457992Humboldt comes in as District 14A champs, beating Halls twice on the final day to do it...They have a very deep pitching staff and three pitchers that could be the No. 1 on a lot of 1A teams...2 of those 3 own 9-0 records...Humboldt doesn't have a big time hitting lineup, but they put the ball in play and they have a LOT of speed...The bats do seem to be heating up a bit but it's definitely their pitching and defense that's got them to this point...I don't know much about McKenzie other than they are well-coached...I'm sure someone can give info. on them but how about some predictions on this first round region matchup?

Well coached??? Ive been to more than 75 percent of their games since he has been the coach. Trust me, they won the state last year on talent. Coaching had nothing to do with it. His "coaching" has them where they are right now, only a 500 team playing a fairly weak schedule. They have alot of talent but very little experience coming into this year, that was where the coach was supposed to come in. The coach needs to turn his mute button off. Ok off that subject. McKenzie has some pretty good pitching, their hitting comes and goes, and their defense is poor most of the time. But i will have to tell you that their are alot of talented ball players on this team and if they come to play, they can beat anybody.

  5. I was at a Babe Ruth game a couple of years ago and i heard a coach tell one of his players on the bench to get ready to run for the batter. The next thing you know i looked up and the kid was getting in the batters box behind the hitter. He was ready to run! All that batter was going to have to do is hit the ball and walk to the dugout haha. No joke.

  6. QUOTE(pitching scout @ May 1 2007 - 08:45 PM) 826449489I could not agree more. I don't know where our team was tonight. One more thing, you have got to manufacture a run when down only one run and no outs and a man on first. He should be stealing on the first pitch. Oh well, I will have to say one thing. Butchie, your a class act in my book and I will miss your posts. Hope Bugs goes as far as his heart desires and let's finish this thing out right Rebels. It's now or never as far as this season goes. See ya Friday.

Good question, where was our team?? Where was the coach?? I'm sure there is someone on that bench that can catch more fly balls in left field than 1 out of every 10. I don't think we should have been stealing on that first pitch, but we should have have been bunting without a doubt. Should have tried to bunt until he got it down or struck out trying to bunt. I'm not trying to run the players down, but they looked like they haven't ever played today. These guys are talented and have no business playing like that. When you can't catch routine fly balls and grounders, miss some spots on the mound, and don't produce runs when you have to this is usually the result. Its time for them to step up and play like they are capable of playing. Its not to late, friday is like starting a new season. All these games played so far this year means nothing now. Go out and do a job and see what happens. Good Luck!

  7. QUOTE(pitching scout @ Apr 30 2007 - 10:07 PM) 826448786I think Bugs is a fine pitcher and we need him as well as we need every player on the field. I wish him well in whatever he plans to do in the future. As far as who is better. I'm not going to waste my time commenting. We need Bugs, Kee, Jones, Chappel, Holt and whoever else we can pull out of the bullpen to get through the Dist., Region, and for sure Sub-State and who knows. Just don't count us out. So let's all us fans pull together and get behind our team and only the future will tell what happens with these guys and how far they will go with their baseball career. I wish them all the best and Good Luck Rebels !!!

    You said it pitching scout.

  8. QUOTE(thumper13 @ Apr 30 2007 - 06:40 PM) 826448593i dont think brasco want to tell you butchie who he is. but was told by a good friend that it was kees bro.you can usually find him sitting by baddogg11 in the stands. go rebels and stangs ...

Well come on up and say hi next time.

  9. QUOTE(nationalchamps04 @ Apr 29 2007 - 11:37 PM) 826448132Personally I think all these people on here arguing is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. You people sit in your homes and talk about how great your kid is and how the other team is just so horrible. I would shoot myself if my mom, dad, or whoever sat around and started arguments on Coach T. I would also encourage them to find a hobby or something to occupy this free time that they are filling by writing useless and pointless posts. Better yet, try being a roll model or something and teach your kids there is more to life than a stupid McKenzie/Huntingdon rivalry. You guys have a great rest of the year and since this is my first Coach T quote I have put on here using someone else's name, it will be pointless for you to bash me back, but I am sure some of you will anyway. Its really sad that I have not kept up with either teams since last year, and I get on here and everyone is just so positive. Good luck in the tournaments!

Nobody made you read this stuff buddy. It was your decision.

  10. QUOTE(tricklician @ Apr 29 2007 - 07:22 PM) 826447990What do you mean by hot bats?.......1 hit off of Clifft in the first game.....14-1 Huntingdon Wins

Then 3 off of Crocker 4-3 in the second Game....Huntingdon Wins.

Huntingdon did all they could to give the game to the Rebels in game two and the Rebels still couldn't win it so please stop trying to even think that the Rebels are going to win the district this year.

I was referring to their last three ballgames. And if i remember right i believe it was McKenzie with the lead most of the ballgame in game two so it was McKenzie that gave it to huntingdon. Argue if you want, but McKenzie is capable of beating Huntingdon on any given day if they play as a team. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Huntingdon is a good ball club, but no big threats. They have good pitching and most of the time don't make errors, but their hitting is only average at best from what i've seen. Don't get me wrong Huntingdon should win with district, but don't count McKenzie out.

  11. QUOTE(Titans02 @ Apr 27 2007 - 03:15 PM) 826447042How can it be a good thing when you play your best game you have played all year and you still lose to another single a team, unless you dont expect to be that good or something. I mean I could understand if you were at Clarksburg or West Carroll and you held Huntingdon to 4 runs and only lost by 1,but you are the defending state champion.

First of all try to make sense of what you say before you start running your trap.

  12. QUOTE(donniebrasco @ Apr 25 2007 - 05:25 PM) 826445296he's proly the huntingdon fan i saw peein his pants after he said the wrong thing to a fan from mckenzie after the game last night

You are probably right. That guy from huntingdon must have said his prayers before the game.

  13. QUOTE(donniebrasco @ Apr 25 2007 - 05:15 PM) 826445288obviously you weren't at the game last night or you don't know a thing about baseball

you-re just some idiot that likes to make posts behind the security of your nickname

I agree. Probably has never stepped on a baseball field.

  14. QUOTE(thumper13 @ Apr 16 2007 - 02:47 PM) 826438708We can't answer questions about the thinking of the Coach. The History on Brown has been a slow start and a strong finish, but an all around good hitter. Bugs batting .519 in the third spot with Reeder and Carr behind him and Carr has more RBI's. Go figure? Is someone not getting on in front of our hitters? I'm not a coach but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Our infield has had about 6 different looks but finally we have some cosistency at key positions. We have Anderson who is a Sophmore with a better batting average than our other Senior but our Senior starts and batts and Anderson sits? Now we have been playing sloppy, and with lil or no offense at times but cmon somethings are easily seen. Quit moving em around and play the best players regardless of Senior or Freshman. I know every team has frustrating moments. I know alot of teams are curious of how well we will do after graduating so many upperclassmen. But we have alot of talent and quality pitching and maybe if we had some kind of a summer program like the other contenders for state have had we wouldn't be experiencing the things we are now. And after the showing we will put up this yr the Coach will be justified. He can say we made it to the Region. Well crap what does that take in 13A. When the other powerhouse is Huntingdon and us. Both teams have fallen down from 2A. Now I have taken alot of heat for singing my sons praises and boy I have enjoyed that but I also feel that the Mckenzie Rebel team, family, and Fans have been cheated as to what a season we could have had if an effort to have a summer program would have been pursued. Had I won a State Championship I would have thought a lil extra effort to keep up the winning tradition would have existed. But, atleast we won won in 1932 and again in 2006 and maybe our next one will be in 2100 or something. I look forward to the end of the season but in parting I would like to say It has been fun being with all the kids and Parents of the Rebels. I truly have enjoyed my sons experiences at the High School level and as we move on to the next I would like to say to all fans, players, and parents good luck to you and yours and by all means be safe, and enjoy ur kids they grow up too fast. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

This was a good write up but as far as Carr having more RBI's isn't that uncommon. He is in the 5 hole, so which means good hitters in front of him get on base. He may have more RBI's, but not that much more. From what i understand the 3, 4, and 5 hole hitters are all right there together. Also, as for the state championship team in 1932 we all know that is a joke. I mean come on, didn't they play for the state championship in Mckenzie and wasn't it against Dresden? Sounds like a district tournament to me. Please correct me if i am wrong.

  15. QUOTE(pitching scout @ Mar 21 2007 - 06:13 AM) 826419129The game I saw was 1 unearned run. It wasn't on Clint Kee. The defense made a few errors. The Rebels have got to be more aggressive on the infield or that is going to kill them in a tight game. You have to be really aggressive and charge the ball if you are going to play that deep at shortstop and second. All in all though they played very well. Just have to tighten up their game when facing a more talented opponent. The Dresden game would have been a different game if you take away 3 errors and one bad pitch. Let's go Rebels ! It's time to start getting it together and let's cut down on those costly mistakes. REBELS ALL THE WAY !

Completely agree. If you don't make pitching mistakes and make the routine plays in the field, could be down at the big show again this year.

  16. QUOTE(Blue and Gold @ Mar 20 2007 - 08:24 AM) 826418248QUOTE(Baddogg11 @ Mar 18 2007 - 12:36 AM)

Where am i going to play??? Played four years of college ball and as a pitcher. All conference 2 years in college, all district three years in high school, and player of the year in district as well as all state pitcher. I didn't say clift wasn't a good pitcher, just not a shut down pitcher. So where do you play? In the mustang band?

I used to play at your Mom's house years ago. do you have blonde hair and blue eyes? Congrats on all your acclomplishments, son. Have a great day.

As for you, maybe you will grow up and be a winner like your daddy one day. Maybe yall can sell some 4-wheelers together in the big town of clarksburg.

  17. QUOTE(NEWSTANG @ Mar 20 2007 - 08:11 AM) 826418240I used to play at your Mom's house years ago. do you have blonde hair and blue eyes? Congrats on all your acclomplishments, son. Have a great day.

I know who you are. Watch your back!!!

  18. QUOTE(Butchie @ Mar 19 2007 - 07:01 PM) 826417870/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Well as expected Mckenzie trounced Big Sandy tonite. I won't give a score just doesn't seem right to do so. Bugs faced 15 batters with 2 walks and one hit and 12 strike outs. And another homer by Derrick Carr that makes 2 games in arow with a homer. Tyler Reeder hit a double. And I don't know how Drew Brown can throw a strike to second base to nail a runner and Carr catch it lay glove on ground in front of the base and wait on the slide for what seemed a 3 count and the runner was ruled safe. Go figure? One of the best snap throws on a stealer I've had the pleasure of seeing Brown throw. But, the umps were kinda of retired looking. Maybe why Bugs had so many K's? The Rebels really hit the ball well and had fun getting thier first District win. They face Big Sandy tomorrow at home with Clint Kee on the hill for the Rebels. Come out to the park, Hope to see ya there. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Thats good to hear. It don't matter who the umps are, 12 strikeouts is great especially not being a 7 inning game. I heard about the throw to second thats funny ha. Glad to see them stroking the ball and hope it continues.

  19. QUOTE(Butchie @ Mar 19 2007 - 01:58 PM) 826417647I know you didn't make a negative comment and no challenge has been threw down towards you. But, If I'm not mistaken I already know who you are lol. And yes Bug has already thrown 91 in a try-out with Cumberland University. I was there and saw the guns. Now traditionally Bug hasn't thrown hard as 91 but has been working on it if you have read my posts. And maybe I shouldn't be on here talking him up. But, I won't lie or boast or even post things on here that aint the truth or things that he hasn't already accomplished. Bo Brown was huge for the Rebels and Drew is still stunning em. And being who you are to them I can understand the swelling of emotion towards them. We miss Bo and we are real dang proud of drew. But i will say this I aint lying about Bugs ability, or things he has already done. And I speak the truth as well. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Bugs is an excellent ball player. The kid can smash. I can't comment on what he threw at try outs, but just on what i have seen. I mentioned that he threw mid 80's which is gas in high school. Kids are able to pick up 5 mph through a college carreer if they work hard and he shouldn't have a problem with that because he is a hard worker. He will be a good asset to cumberland. It would be great to see these boys down at the big show again. I like you Butchie, you remind me of myself.
